Absolutely amazing, this looks so unusual! From the outside it looks much smaller, but only when you get closer you actually get the real impression of its size.
What a beautiful place POP. I missed the Premiere but watching the replay now - Last video for me before checking out for today, and what a great one it was. Thanks so much. 🙂 (and I'm not going to mention your amazing narration again, haha... Love it.) Good night from Chiang Mai... Thomas
Really do enjoy Cornwall,, me and the wife have been to Looe,, Paignton and Boscastle but havent seen Rostormel so we cant wait to watch on the big screen
Hi Alessa and Brett Wow this is one of massive property that I can easily get lost. The structure of the ruin is excellent from the thickness of walls to design, to the strength..walls survived through all yrs. Again, thank you again for the history of the ruin enhances the beauty. Brett's flight is a proof of the excellence of the architecture. Just simply enjoy my aweee-moments Thank you, two making my Sunday...Indeed, unique castle. Love YOU, besties. Sorry I am a little beat up from yesterday's hike...I don't feel legs today hahah
Hi Alessa & Brett! What a fascinating castle - such a unique design and very attractive. You really brought the castle to life with your interesting and well-researched narration. Beautiful views from the ramparts of inside the castle walls and the outside of the castle and beyond. The drone footage was spectacular. It showed the circular design perfectly. Oustanding video guys! Thank you! ❤❤
Hi Alessa. As I’m watching your tour and listening to the history of this wonderful looking castle, I’m thinking of how much work went into building it with all the stone work involved. What a nice location. Thank you for tour of this unique place. 👍😊🇨🇦
What an incredible castle and the view is breathtaking. I'm here from Donna's Halloween collab. Liked and subscribed. Thank you for sharing. Absolutely beautiful. 🥰
Hey Alessa & Brett, I just love Restormel Castle, I love the story & history behind it which you captured perfectly, as always, Alessa. You can just stand in the centre of it all & imagine what it was like & how they lived. The views from the top are amazing, it’s my favourite so far. Great drone footage at the end Brett, we couldn’t get ours up when we visited as it was too windy😂 Fantastic drone views & I love where the castle has been placed, so beautiful 👌🏻Thank you for sharing my favourite castle. X💕👌🏻
Thank you so very much Kim, loved watching yours and Watto's video on Restormel, that's what made me fall in love with it! hehe. Thank you ever so much for all the support and for watching xx
Very interesting design, the ovens look huge. I am glad I wasn't a medieval cook, it must have been so hot by those stones, but then again they were guaranteed food so that is good. I love trying to imagine what daily life was like.
Alessa brilliant commentary as always...Brett your drone shots are just superb! I really am so impressed with your trailer! Absolutely stunning work you two! Wishing you more and more!
Ah now then that brings back memories of our visit a while back. It is a very special place and interesting too. alot more research and history in your version though. 😊 Great stuff as always.
I don't think, that I've heard of a round castle before. For a castle this size, there are still a lot left to see. Stunning view from the top of the wall.
This castle design is actually very common, but rare to see examples so well preserves. Here in Wales, our own Cardiff Castle is exactly the same. Before they used stone to build castles, they would build the same design of castle using wood walls or palisades in a circular structure at the top of a hill, and they often would have another encircling or walls at the bottom of the hill too or in this instance, they used a draw bridge. I think the thing that makes this castle unusual, isn't because its circle, but because of the way that its built like a hill fort - which was normal, and then they weirdly have level ground which is in line with the top of the hill with this draw bridge. This could be an example of the castle being added to in a later period because usually the hill fort would be solitary, the purpose of it being on a hill and surrounded by a moat is that its really difficult to attack, so the fact that you have a drawbridge to level ground from this clear hill fort design is what in my opinion is making it quite unusual Looking at it again, it does look like the ground was placed their artificially to have that ramp/bridge exist. Its original design would definitely have just been steps leading up to the gate so im betting it was added to by a later occupant of the castle
A absolutely fantastic read, thank you Nick for further educating me/us! We have yet to experience Cardiff, but it's on the never ending list. You could indeed be right about the later occupant of the castle adding to it's fortifications at a later stage as the castle went through various families who wanted to advance it to their liking. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a comment, it's so fun to read! :D
@@PinnedonPlaces you're welcome! I look forward to the day that you potentially do visit Wales! @@NickLongFilmmaking We've had the pleasure of visiting many Welsh Castles, if you have the time, please check some out! Some favourites of mine are Raglan, Kidwelly, Tretower, Castell Coch!
