I found out about Hop King through Jamie's videos and man, as someone else from Ireland living in London, this city and Hop King are a dream. It's really great to see him kick so much ass, especially coming from the rainiest, most rural part of Ireland. No small feat at all!

It's mad to see someone from my hometown, where I was the only kid skating in the late 90s, to reach such heights. If only I had thought of the carpet solution! As a skater in Donegal, you really notice how frequently it rains.
haha. yeah, my wife is from Ramelton and went to school in Raphoe, so I've been to the skatepark in L'Kenny a few times, while it was dry! greetings from Calgary.

Most people just see vids like this and think ‘pretty cool vid’, without noticing the hundreds of hours of editing and shaping the story, syncing the music and audio etc.

You’re my favorite skater ever
how ironic that he is one of the best skateboarders and has tech like rodney mullen. both of them skated in sheds on flatground stationary and it seems to be the formula for tech tricks. i watched a documentary and rodney mullen would skate on a small flat spot under a make shift canopy to practice all year round. maybe they both found the magic formula to getting better at technical flip tricks.
I watched the carpet days on Instagram and even then you could tell he had a lot more talent than most. I'm glad he's gone pro but hope this is a step towards moving to the US and becoming a massive name. You can make a decent living from skating in the UK but to really cement some money and a long career the only option is the US. He could walk many of the big Pro Am comps.

Whoever this may concern.
Follow your dreams as stupid as this sounds at 30 I look back on my last 10 years and all I have done is try and please me peers and not disappoint my parents. Obviously I failed at this anyway even after not following my dream of skating full time. Because I was trying to please other people instead of myself. Just do what makes you happy end of story even if that results in family and friends not being happy. If you feel like that is what you need to be happy just do it. I skate again now but I can't help but see so many of my old friends who kept skating and went on to be somewhat successful there not pro. But there good skaters I don't regret not following my dream because I would have been pro or something that's not it I just wish I was way better at skating than I am because I should have kept going and be allot better I feel I am missing out on years of fun and the result of that fun is better skating and that is what it's all about being able to skate with a bag of tricks is just so much more enjoyable.
