"hello guys welcome back to auto auction we cant rebuild anything" made me laugh 🤣
Lol...
😔 I am looking forward to when he is able to rebuild again.
@@jlang8213 probably no time soon
Gave me a good laugh as well.

The key code should be under the trunk lid ?
Randy has done it again to the old car, a fresh paint job did justice to the Mercury Cougar...taking it in her stride...it will be back to the summit ...regards from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia 🇲🇾 ❤️
Hi Randy. The first car I bought with my own money was a Mercury Cougar XR-7. A 1975 model. Lime mist metallic. I bought it in 1978 when I was 19 years old and still single. I think it was the nicest car I've ever owned, and I've owned many. My wife and kids always came first after that. Thanks for all the videos. Damn! You get some nice cars. Like that Lincoln, the one you delivered to Texas, and this Cougar.
The people saying the Cougar is ugly and junk are the people that WANT it but extra cheap. And yes, the Cougar IS a Fox body. As far as the door code, there should be (if it's still there) a sticker on the left side trunk arm with the code.
You are indeed correct that the Cougar is a Foxbody. The 5.0’s in the Cougar & Thunderbirds didn’t put down quite as much power as the Mustangs did. But still an awesome car. I’d sure love to get my hands on her💯
The sixth-generation Cougar retained the rear-wheel drive Ford Fox platform from the fifth generation. Downsized to a 104-inch wheelbase (find it on Wikipedia)
Hey Randy, absolutely great to see you back! kudos to you on the cougar! I agree with you I think it looks great! vintage classic for the price it’s the bomb! Love to see the Maaco paint jobs! thanks so much for sharing! hope the personal issues that have taken you away are going well!
I agree with you, that was a fantastic choice of color for the Cougar. I’m sure someone else will pick up on the remaining issues as far as tires, window tint (right now that is a bit like Lawrence Welk night at the seniors center, all bubbles and wrinkles, 😂), etc. and put it on the road again. 👍🏻
The cougar looks awesome. Polish the headlights yourself, pull the tint off yourself, and do a garage detail on the inside yourself. That would be a good episode to watch. The Sema Mustang is a huge win. See if legitstreetcars will do a collaboration on the BMW.
Headlight resto, tyre shine, horn button, quick detail(wash vac, Armourall) and send it on it’s way.
Windows and wheels are styling choices for the new owner.
Hi Randy, that fresh red paint has made the Mercury look absolutely amazing, what a huge difference the new paint has made. It was brilliant seeing Roxy back on the channel and I will look forward to the next video
Cougar is awesome it's a classy car I don't blame you for not wanting to get rid of it . The 5.0 is rare .
Gotta LUV that rear window styling of the Mercury.. So distinctive!
It looks a lot better than it did when you got it.
Wow, this thing looks good!
Thanks for the video, Randy.
Love seeing that trx being put to work
The T-bar end goes into the throttle (similar to racing bicycle brakes) throttle body end is the other way. If you undo the throttle on the handlebars that's what you're likely going to find.
What I came to say lol he's got it backwards
Yep, what these guys said.
Amazing video randy, hopefully ur shoulder gets better and u can rebuild amazing content for us,have a great day randy
I remember watching a video where the didn't want to sponcer a paint job and you was pissed and wasn't ever doing business ever again with them! Glad you had a change of heart!
Always enjoying watching your videos. Thank you
Gday mate.
Reckon you’re doing great with content atm, still keeping me (dare I say, all of us) fixated on watching what’s happening over at A.A.R H.Q, a speedy recover your way Randy, and take it easy on your shoulder.
All the best mate.
The codes to unlock the keypad on the drivers door is on the inside of the left trunk hinge that holds the trunk lid on on all Ford Lincoln mercury cars. So try that on the next one and you'll see that that's a fact. I love your channel and I watch you faithfully watch you. Your channel provides loads of information that is very valuable to to all car enthusiasts.
Hey Randy, there's nothing really special about most coilover setups as far as adjustability. You typically need one of about 3 or 4 special wrenches and an Allen key for the set screw in the adjuster nut. I've even done them with channel locks you'll scratch the crap out of the nut though. Find the brand you have and get with Speedway, Jegs, Summit or any other speed shop really. They should be able to hook you up with the wrench.
Right
beautiful randy! I had a 1987 Mercury Cougar it was maroon with the 3.8 v6 then I got a 1986 T bird with the 5.0 sadly that one burned to the ground in front of a church one day after the fuel line rubbed thru and ruptured. it was silver loved both of these cars!
Nice car color and you are not the only one who use the trx like that cboystv also has one and they used it to tow thing too nice trailer
I would keep it and restore it. Not too many of these on the road anymore. Has been one of my bucket list cars since they first came out.
The Cougar turned out great!
You have got to know when to say when.
Let her go.
I hope your shoulder feels better soon.
Looks good Randy . Love watching thanks
Randy My thoughts are with you in regards to your personal situation. Thank you many times over for returning that XR7 back to its Red Glamour! It’s as beautiful as I had hoped.
That cougar looks really good and your very correct that color pops and when you were loading the cougar after the paint job DAM 😂 that was funny keep up the great work Ramdy
The code is on the module in the trunk on the driver's side behind the lining. Everything drivetrain wise that fits on a mustang fits on that car. SN95 suspension and brakes fit perfectly (they are the same size, they used the measurements from those cars 87-88) Mark 7 parts also work. They are easier in some cases to modify all around than a fox or SN95 mustang due to the subtle differences. I built a few of them in my early 20's.
On the moped, cut the T of one end where you're original has the plain cable. The end with the nub can be ground rounder.
This is the 1987-88 Cougar and it is a fox chassis car. All Cougars and Thunderbirds from 1980-88 are fox chassis cars. In 1989, the chassis became an MN-12. 1977-79 Cougars, Thunderbird, and LTD II's use the Torino chassis. I've seen these go for $3000-$4000, so you can make money on it if you price it right, since it is a 5.0
That Cougar is BEAUTIFUL! I love the red on it. I would treasure that thing if it was mine! Wow!
LOVE the color Randy! If you decide to just sell the Cougar, you can definitely make a profit off of it! Paint alone greatly changes the value of the car regardless of smaller issues such as window tint or clear headlights. Whatever you do with it, just wanted to say the Cougar looks SO much better!
Maybe Nick would like to drive the C4 to high school. He'll have one of the coolest cars in school for sure!
The Cougar now looks fairly good. A few more minor fixin', and she'll running good as new.
'Bout Nick and the C4 'Vette... yeah he'll look good in that car. IIRC, its a 40th Anniversary Edition model, right?
good to see you back Randy
Your cougar looks fantastic your doin great things keep up the Phenomenal job u do randy
Great video content and awsome color on the cougar👌😎
Looking beautiful Roxy!
Love the new colour on the Cougar Randy, would love to see the 7 Series BMW running , keep up the great work Randy
Randy , that kabel is good but you got to turn the kabel . The small point goes in the carb and the big is for the handel.
Good, Randy, keep it up !
Cougar is looking damn clean.
When you are dropping off/picking up at Macco us the flashers on that car, not just the TRX. It should make you a bit more noticeable, the trailer and truck lights get blocked during loading/ unloading a bit. Despite how bright the color is. People don’t know how to drive and they don’t pay attention. Stay safe out there Randy!
At the 25 minute mark - I don't know if anyone else caught it, but when you clicked off the emergency brake; the driver side parking light came on then went off and then immediately after the passenger head light did the same
BEAUTIFUL COUGAR!! Love the new red color!
Man she turned out amazing. Nice job bringing her back to life. Great Daily driver for someone. Take a bow my friend 👏
Wassup Randal! Keep doing what you do & Keep on keeping being You & True! Wouldn't change a thing..besides that slow Focusing! But really,Great video for teaching the learners & beginners the ins & outs of the Auto Industry!#ItCanKillYou Stay safe Brother...and don't forget that E-Brake!😎😵😬
Video quality was great Randy 👍
I like the color of the Mercury
Good morning Randy from @Auto action Rebuild awesome video 🙏😇
I think I would've spent the few extra dollars and got the rear window surround sorted. Would just have made so much difference......
I do love some of the cars you find. I love some of those 80's family boxes!
Hope the shoulder gets better soon.
That Cougar looks amazing!
I would still like to see BMW 740 running again.
Love the paint job Randy 😎😎👍👍
It is better to be safe than sorry Randy. The way it took off reminded me of Christine the movie. I'm so glad you're okay The car looks awesome. I love the way they painted that front grill red
The cougar looks great! What I would do is get the headlights done and make sure all the lights work all the way around. Get that window tint taken off and the windows cleaned and fixed. just have them do a simple cleaning of the inside put those new tires on get an alignment if it needs it I’m telling you right now you could get $3500 if not more for that car. There are cougar fanatics who would be chomping at the bit to get a hold of that car
all those little things only add value to the one that owns it at the end of the day its not and never will be a 3k car let the next guy do all that
Fox body Cougars have jumped in price big time. $3500 would have been the price before paint. This right now is a $7 grand car all day as long as everything is running right. Non foxbody 89-93 cougars can be had for 3500
Love the cougar! Planning on taking my foxbody thunderbird on power tour in the summer.
Those Cars with the 5.0 were popular back in the day. It used to be all my uncle would drive. That one brings back some memories!!!!
I love the color on that Cougar. Yes the Cougar would technically be a Foxbody since it shared the same Fox platform as a lot of Ford cars from that era
Wow....that turned out beautiful
Great video randy 👍
Next episode: just Randy and Mike and Santa chilling together
Your dog looks just like how my dog looked same build. I have a 97 cougar and I don't see many of any year often so it's cool to see one out there
You nailed the color for that Cougar. Fits that car perfectly.
Great video Results good Audio
🔥paint job! Looks so good
T shape on your cable goes into the throttle on handlebars small nub is for the carb. Good luck 👍
you got me! yes I follow Mike and now you. Cheers from one guy no more.
Nice Randy 💯💯 the Old Mercury cougar looks good 💯💯
I didn't find anything wrong with the video quality. Plus, the cougar looked really good man you made a good choice on the color.
Really like this Honda. It reminds me of the 86 Accord I used to have many years ago
I had a 91 Tbird with keyless entry. I found the door lock code under the rear deck lid either by or on the deck lid hinge
Dang that Mercury looks so freaking good. Great color choice. You can buy a coilover wrench at most parts stores or Amazon. Keep what you have and raise it up.
Your video and audio is better than most UA-camrs. So on that you do a great job. And you do a great job all together
Cougar came out great and will satisfy someone needing decent TRANSPORTATION and not a perfect show car or status symbol.
I love those yr of the cougar and it's standard....that's awesome
The intro was too funny but we’re still here Randy, cool to see these cars back on the road that otherwise may have been parted out.
Wow. That looks great. Wish i had a maaco around me that would even come.close to those prices.... I would love to have my old truck repainted.
im in the northeast and we're talking triple that at least for my old 2500
Wow. That paint color looks nice. It looks new again.
the code is written on a tag on the left trunk hinge, but if its gone it's written on the module inside the under the package tray behind the rear seat. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you can move the resisters around inside to change the code as well.
I love that keypad. Such a simple thing but really useful.
Randy so I have been watching
you channel for over a year,
your a likable guy, and people identify with you.
I would like to give you a little advice, that may be helpful,
it seems when you're going through things the ups and downs you should. share it with your UA-camrs.
Most will be able to relate and and identify with you and look a little more forward to watching your Channel .
Just something I thought I share
With you.
This is not a fox body vehicle. The Mercury Capri was a contemporary with this Cougar. But it was the Capri that was the Fox body in the line-up. The paint job came out great!
The Thunderbird, Cougar, Fairmont and Zephyr were all based on the Fox platform (as were the Mustang and Capri). This is a Fox platform car.
Randy the throttle cable that you bought looks right to me the big in always goes where the handlebars are at you can always buy another throttle assembly that goes right on to the handlebars that will fit that cable that you just bought the little end should fit right into the carburetor slide. back in the day when I had no money I always repaired my broken throttle cables by soldering new ends on
Off of the cable on the little side it should slide off and then run the little side through the inside of the throttle and then the little side will go back into the sheathing down to the carburetor as you pull it down the tea part will end up in the throttle take the throttle apart and run it down through that way
It is your car, you do what you want or can afford. Lots of experts on You Tube. Awesome paint job on the Cougar.
Hey Randy...the Cougar came out awesome. As far as the BMW that's sitting by the Camaro, I would just part it out. You'll probably make quite a profit from doing that instead. Just my opinion. But thanks for your efforts and keeping up the uploads.
Car looks good Randy 🔥👍whoever said it's just a crummy cougar that's not worth much apparently does not know their automobiles. That cougar is a rare breed with that 5.0 & suspension upgrade, back in it's heyday fox platform. 96 % of them were V6's. Awesome vid Salute 🚘🔥😎🤘
Send the cougar on down the road, I like the cougar nice color, your camera great quality, love your videos!!
Love that beautiful old car, it brings back old memories
Hello Randy. Can't wait to see what color that you painted it. Maco does an awesome job on painting all cars and trucks.
Macco here in Aberdeen Maryland zip 21001 does horrible work. Plus they charge way more. Plus they do not stand by their work
Working great.
That looks awesome. Great color choice. 👌
That is the right cable you have it backwards the T end goes in the hand grip it will make sense when you take it apart.
video and audio quality both excellent.
Love the Cougar!!
Great colour, refreshed the car.
Great video
I love it even more painted!
Love that c4 corvette randy. I agree with you keep it
That cougar looks good randy! Good color choice!
That's One Beautiful Car And Color Randy
Nice Cougar. Beautiful paint job.
Omg…that red is beautiful!!!
I was wondering about this car .you do stay busy given us content 👍
Hi again. On the Jawa, I'm pretty sure the small end of the throttle cable fits in the carb. On the twist grip end, maybe the fitting on the twist grip comes out and is slotted for the cable installation. On the Cougar, polish the headlights and send it. 2500.00
