      Time & Place is a great track, but far from being the best even on ...In Times New Roman. Straitjacket Fitting is the one. But, to be honest, all the 10 tracks of QOTSA new album chosen as 10 best songs of the year would be a decent list, billion times better than this trash by Time.

    Peggy Gou (Pronounced Goo) is massive. She's been one of the biggest DJ / Producers in house and techno for some years now and has multiple hits since about 2017. Na Na Na was just her biggest yet. Gotta brush up on your dance music a bit more, respectfully.

    Olivia rod song: Clearly influenced by the british new post punk bands like dry cleaning, wet leg, amyl etc. that bass especially. Then a bit of synth pop that Selena gomez brought few years ago from late 80 influence. Not my the song of the year. Still fun fun to listen.

      Todd In The Shadows has a pretty awesome series called One Hit Wonderland. As you can guess from the title, each video in the series is about a specific one hit wonder song, and the artist behind it

    Bad idea right's lyrics deadass just sound like something from an average MGK track. The riff is generic as hell too. Really don't get the critical acclaim, especially when MGK himself gets nothing but shit. There's FAR better pop rock.

    This list reads like some random boomer trying to get in touch with the youngsters and end up with this random salad of music you'd either like it, hate it or feel mixed about it.

    • @thibaultvignon9953
      @thibaultvignon9953 4 місяці тому +12

      Nah how would a boomer stumble upon shit like English Teacher or Gina Birch ? Having some niche stuff in the back of a top 10 and then going for well known stuff for the top 5 is pretty on brand for a mainstream music critic

    • @guywholikesthesnarkies1435
      @guywholikesthesnarkies1435 4 місяці тому

      @@thibaultvignon9953 Eh, I don't think your response is exactly what you believe it is because every reason you put out there seems to only prove my point before🤷 You should've reconsidered the idea of boomer itself first before quickly drawing a conclusion off of my point there, my words "a random boomer trying to connect with youngster" just doesn't mean what you think it is.

      @guywholikesthesnarkies1435 4 місяці тому

      @@puk1667 Well, what makes you think that I don't like it or thinking the list is simply bad? I would like you to explain it and see where did you come for that. Also when I said "My words doesn't mean what you think it is", it's true though.
      Boomer doesn't always translate to anyone who upholds very conservative view of pop culture and becomes out of touch in the process, I simply don't conform with this common notion. Many boomers in their youths were also a bunch of hip who listen to similarly wide variety of genres and styles incl. prog and underground shit too such as Zeuhl or Rock In Opposition, so it makes sense for me to draw an analogy of some random old head trying to connect with their youths. It doesn't imply anything objectively bad.
      You guys just failed to understand my point's context because connotation is everything among White people's discourse now. Also, what I'm trying to say about the list is that I think this list seems to be based too much on a personal preference and for a mainstream corporate publication like Times, I would've gone for something that's more balanced and with bigger mass appeal instead of a salad of some mainstream or even potentially mid mainstream stuff mixed with obscure indie ones that, while they're still a potentially good or great pieces of music, are so stylistically apart from everything else.
      Because you're writing for a mainstream corporate publication and therefore, you'd rather to get as many people in general to listen to diverse music without alienating them with a list that's against the general preference.
