- The ALL NEW Silverado 2500 HD ZR2 "BISON" & 2024 Colorado ZR2 BISON take on Johnson Valley in the hands of an idiot (me).
Chevrolet invited us out to try, firsthand, the all-new ZR2 BISON edition trucks on some of the craziest trails in the US. I would have never expected the Colorado to do what it did...
The fact that these trucks are factory-built off-roaders that come with a warranty is CRAZY... now, just need the LT4 in that Colorado and I can die happy.

On the other hand Chevy making their Colorado the TRX/Raptor “fighter” is good. Because the full size off road spec in north of $90k. Or the price of nice used Freightliner

That’s awesome!! I am a maintenance supervisor for the manufacturer of the HD axles. Love what I do, I was so excited to hear about the HD ZR2. Love it!!
I’ve got the 2020 Trail Boss and love it. But since the 2500 ZR2 was announced I’ve had my eye on that. Payload is the limiter on the Trail Boss and the 2500 lets me keep the great looks and performance of an off road trim while adding payload and keeping the towing I’d need.
Had my Silverado ZR2 with the 6.2 for over a year. No major issues with it - just some recall items.
Borla Touring and S Type kits bolt on - and the trucks just got unlocked with HP Tuners.

As the proud owner of both a 2021 Trail Boss 6.2L AND a 2023 Colorado ZR2, I couldn’t be happier with Chevy trucks. Silverado is great for power, towing, payload, and plenty of space, while the Colorado is great for our AZ desert Baja runs and camping/off-roading.
That Duramax engine is one of the best engines GM has made.
Definitely jealous! Also you have your Camaro and Corvette to tow to the track! So you need a 2500! Congratulations on your hard work! Love watching your videos!

So awesome for you! The Colorado is *near* perfect. It needs the 3.0 LZ0 Duramax, the yellow interior stitching needs to go, as well as the urban camo interior trim. Finish it off with features mostly standard (or as an available option) with a power rear slider. Then you have perfection.
I grew up hunting this part of the country. Getting stuck in the sand and high-centered on the rocks all the time. Wish I had me one of these chevys!😂
I'm on the same page with the 2500HD ZR2 with the wanna buy it but can't afford it, I own a 2020 Colorado ZR2 and would love to upgrade some day!

So Jealous.. my first new truck I ever owned was a '97 S10 ZR2.. and I went on to get (2) more.. and kept my '02 S10 ZR2 up until 2 years ago.
I have moved on to the Fullsize Silverado's.. but that new Colorado ZR2 Bison has me wanting to revisit my youth.

I LOVE my 2023 Colorado Z71! Add a few things and close to the ZR2. LOVE IT
I love the center console shifter. The old school console shifters suck.
I'm not a fan of these 4cylinder motors. The driving experience is lack luster because it's always shifting and revving hard. They feel cheep as well.
I just wonder if the AC condensers, torque converter problems and of course the legendary lifter issues have been addressed by GM. I highly doubt it and will make these trucks “ticking time bombs” as my Silverado. Traded mine in last week for something reliable.

The new Colorado could be a Tacoma killer. Long term reliability will be critical with these new turbo engines.
Awesome video. I've been interested in getting the Colorado ZR2 because I had to get rid of my trailboss almost 2 yrs ago. The gas was killing me back n forth to work. So I've been eyeing up the Colorado and I've heard nothing but good things about them. Can't wait to see the price difference between the ZR2 n Bison. Hopefully by next year to get one I if they are available because of the strike. Thanks again for the awesome vlogs and especially this one.

Congrats on getting invited to something so cool! i started watching your videos a couple years ago when i bought my 2020 Silverado LT V8. Just recently got the 23’ 2.7l LT and i really don’t like it at all, MPG is worse than my V8 was, i guess you gotta spend $$$$$$ to get all the cool stuff to make it worth it. It does pick up quicker than my V8, but it’s not the same, i won’t get another 2.7. Thanks for sharing all the fun with us!!
The 4 bangers in a half-ton just feels sacrilegious to me. But in the mid-size segment it is a perfect application.

Thanks for the great video! I have a 2020 Trail Boss 1500 and I have the goofy rear diff cover that hangs about 1/8" below the housing. Mine caught on something and pulled the cover slightly out enough to slowly drain the diff fluid without me noticing it. Then, while on the freeway...boom! I had to replace the entire rear end and Chevy would not pay for it. My insurance covered it somehow...After a lot of searching and being on forums, there is not currently any aftermarket skid plates so others have had skid plates custom built. After watching your video, I am wondering if the one you showed on the 2023 Chevy Silverado 2500 ZR2 Bison would fit my 2020 Chevy Trail Boss? I know many Trail Boss owners would be all over that if it does fit. Any information you have on that would be appreciated and thanks for all the good content you are producing.

Chevy all the way and i did get one of the 23 ZR2 Bisons only took a year to get but very happy with it and looks bad to the bone.
How long do the Multi matic shocks last and how expensive are they to replace?
