@@VState60 you’re really weird tbh, every single hate comment on max’s videos are from you it’s really quite embarrassing how desperate you are for attention from him lmao
I think it's a combination of things that lead to the result but you handled it very well considering all that goes through your mind right before a race. You stayed within your comfort zone and finished the event in one piece, that's a win. I wouldn't pay much attention to the haters, we all started somewhere and get better the more we do it. It was obvious that you were nervous, which is absolutely normal. Keep going bro, you got skill and balls of steel. So, the only things I would focus on based on the video are as follows: 1. Don't doubt yourself just because you fall behind. It seemed like you were trying to keep up instead of focusing on your fundamentals, analyzing your lines, speed, and breaking points. Once you have a few races under your belt, you will begin to make the small adjustments. 2. It seemed like you didn't know your bike well enough to recognize when you were getting close to its limits, so you never felt confident enough to push it. I hope an outside perspective helps, take care and best of luck on the track.
Staying withing your comfort zone and finished the event in one piece, that's a win. You are absolutely right, your own health and safety is PRIORITY. Racing is fun but breaking bones is less fun.
Ever heard the saying it’s fun to ride a slow bike as fast as it can go rather than a fast bike slow? That Kawi just has too much power! It’s fast in the straights but that only makes you have to brake that much harder to slow down before the curve! Keep riding hard brotha!!
I'm new to riding, and I just said this like half way into the vid. He can barely go into the next gear and really ring it out unless its straight because of all of them curves. I'll be with my mt07 for a really long time, I dont like fast cars/motorcycles
I do agree with this to a certain extent, but I’ve seen people ride liter bikes like 600s lol. It’s all about the rider from my experience. I think I’ve got a better example. Ride the bike, don’t let it ride you.
This guys needs a lot more experience . He holds back on every corner. Slow going in and slow going out. Keep practicing. You'll get faster. Otherwise maybe try the drag strip.

Dude, seeing you take the fast riding to the track was amazing to see. But the fact that you are starting to get a passion for racing as well? INCREDIBLE!!! The first race gets the feel for it all and is thr start to something much more stick to it, keep practicing and find a good coach and you'll be up there with the rest of them. I'm proud of you for making the decision to move the fast stuff to the track. I raced motocross my whole life so if you need to talk to anyone about race stuff hit me up on discord. The jitters never go away on that starting line, you get use to it and once the throttle drops everything turns to focusing on breathing, keeping your pace and riding your own race. Don't try to follow the guy in front of you, just keep applying pressure to them and hope they mess up leaving the window open for you.
I remember my first track day experience, had a z1000 and had been riding it a while with done seasoned riders on the road, everything changes on the track though. It seamed wrong to be getting into tunnel vision after riding with your head on a swivel on the road. Don't take long to fit in the groove though, awsome fun!
Doing really well.. Well done man. It has be a long time since I used to throw my Ninja around the various tracks in Aus here... ( and old zx9r, good old carb days ) A couple of quick pointers... if no one has picked it up. Once you have hit the brakes try not to hit the throttle again before the corner, and use your breaks a little harder ( IIRC, H2's have ABS... lean on the ABS and then back off a bit to get a feel for hard braking ) Your tyres will likely be the limiting factor here. Because the H2's throttle looks really snatchy, the above will help your balance on turn in. Try pick your braking point and be consistent with it. Mind you the track is a little featureless which makes this a bit more difficult. But once you find your points stick with them, and adjust ( as minimally as possible ) as your tyres ware and your fuel / weight goes down. All in all though excellent first time.. The H2 is a beast of a bike to hit the track on.
i really enjoyed my mock race, it was fun, no competition really... stayed in the back of the pack. but that feeling when 15+ bikes are going into the same corner from the start, still can't forget that feeling.
Dude I actually rared back in my recliner watching you wheelie that beast. I’m telling you man you’re a speed freak but in a good way cause I have no where near the set of balls you got. Racing the Tesla in your other video was sick. Godspeed !!
About four years ago an H2 rider got permission to run in the 1000cc class at the Ulster Grand Prix (the worlds fastest road circuit along with the TT) ,he pulled out after the three qualifying sessions as although the H2 was smoking everyone on the straights it was still 6 to 8 seconds a lap slower than the backmarkers . I don't know if they do the mile and two mile races in the US (mostly held on runways) but tuned H2s and H2Rs clean up in those races.
Racing or competition in any sport is totally different than normal.....adrenaline is pumping, nerves, other riders in competition......you did great! It's not same thing as just riding around......

That looks like Buttonwillow. It's a challenging track-and the locals ride there all the time, so it's easy to get smoked. And, there are no brake markers. Wise decision no to be the first one into the corner...when I went there for a track day a few years ago, I hung back and watched three bikes go off on the first corner. It's always best to check your ego at the door and ride your own ride.
I feel like your main mistake is letting off the throttle completely while in a corner. I know it seems textbook to do that but I always have a bit of throttle throughout the entire corner, never let the rpm drop to nothing. It does take more control but yeah. In my opinion it just feels safer if you’re on the throttle a bit while going through the corner, 0 throttle definitely a no no.
When you can, to learn how to go fast, practice going as hard as you dare without using your brakes. That will teach you corner speed. When you can do that, start using your brakes so you can go harder on the straights and then brake hard to corner fast (as you were practicing).

I track a few R6's and R1's and both were dusted off on the Pocono East, short twisty track by a group of guys riding pro mopeds. Couldn't get the power down and couldn't get out of 3rd gear with the rpm's running way below the power bands... Just dragging ass on the track! Power means nothing if you can't use it.
yeah, the big heavy bike is way harder to corner, and by the time you are done and ready to go get them they are to fare ahead. Not bad riding on such big heavy bike. I have done a few track days, but I never raced.
