  • Honda said it will be revealing its all-new 2015 Fit at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this coming January.
Possible Single Motor Hybrid For North America
In was at the LA Auto Show Press Days in November of 2012 when Honda announced that their future hybrid strategy was going to be based on three very different designs for small, midsize and larger vehicles. The strategy Honda employed is called Sport Hybrid and includes a one-, two- and three-motor systems.
The one-motor Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive is designed for smaller vehicles utilizing a high-output motor, Li-Ion traction battery, and an atkinsonized 1.5L I4 mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT). The system is optimized for use in smaller vehicles like the Honda Fit.
The two motor systems worked out fantastically in the Accord HEV and PHEV that provided class leading fuel economy (Prius levels at low speeds and only topped by the turbo diesel equipped Passat TDI at higher speeds). The three motor systems adds a rear wheel electric motor setup for more precise AWD handling capabilities... cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread...

Profuse007, great insight. Can you imagine what a hopped up 100+ HP electric motor would do for launch? Damn!

I think that dual clutch contains the motor, not at the flex plate.
If that's the case, the new generation fart-can VTEC racer will love the high torque electric motor with their turbo to fill the turbo lag gap.

Can go fully electric around 2-3 km. If you’re lucky and the battery is also healthy you can go 4km. And if you uprade the battery to a more powerful one. Ofcourse you can do more

This is not a intelligent - DCT this the most stupid - DCT ever.
Heats up quicky while climbing hill.very inefficient n unpleasant to drive. Honda should have stick to CVT without this crappy tranny. this generation of Hondas with DCT are really messed up. don't fall for fake ads.
Honda Really Screwed up with the new gen cars.

Huh? I've got the 2015 Fit EX with a normal CVT. I've been told by all my mechanic buddies that they break faster and are impossible to repair, as in it's just cheaper to do a transmission swap when it breaks. Is there some Honda quality when it comes to CVTs that I don't know about?
