I knew the trim sender on my new-to-me S150 wasn't working right, but this video pointed me right to the problem. In my case, the sender had a bunch of marine grease packed in it that dried out. I pulled it out for better access, flushed the hardened grease out with gum cutter, lubed it up and it works like new. Cheers for a free 15 minutes fix :)
And after 8 years, this is the video that keeps on giving. I was looking high and low for a loose or broken wire until I saw this video. 15-20 min of penetrating oil and teflon lube and all is well again. Many thanks!
I just fixed my trim sensor after watching this. The metal clamp/stop had turned some and wasn't making contact anymore. Adjusted and now works fine. Thanks!
Thanks. Mine is not indicating trim level after winter storage. Have a problem with Yamaha every year. Went 20 years practically trouble free with 94 Johnson Ocean Runner 225. Computerized crap.
Man that baby is tucked way up underneath. I found mine and it only needed to be adjusted. Now I will have to run it to see where the sweet spot is. Maybe make a few more adjustments. Thanks for the simple advice.
@@DrJ561 A quick google search got me the part, here's a link. Google the Yam P/N, maybe you can find it cheaper. You know Yam is very "proud" of their parts! www.partsvu.com/69j-83672-11-00-trim-sender.html?adpos=&scid=scplp69J-83672-11-00&sc_intid=69J-83672-11-00&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzbv7BRDIARIsAM-A6-2C26xBXjolUuwSMIPr6DAHSkGf2L2UgnnNPnuPnV2veduDGdG8j18aAukCEALw_wcB
Nice video, good detail. My sender rotates properly but not sure it's working properly in regard to specified resistance range. Digital volt meter will not read resistance regardless of position. Sender was not connected and rotates freely.

Thank you for the video. Very helpful. Can that finger be moved manually?
Yes, if the retrn spring isn't seized up. If yours is frozen, give it a couple good soakings with PB Blaster, then try to move it...
Bob Christiansen happen to know what that part is called? Maybe a p/n#?
