I bought one 159 with similar damage but little bit worse than this. Fix it for less than 900 euro myself. Both headlights, the bonnet, radiators, one of the side panels, basically whole front plus the windshield, all of the front airbags and reseting the aribag module, all of that for 900 euros. I did the work in just 2 weeks. The only thing I didn't do was clearing the crash data from the airbag module, had to take the module in a shop, charged me 40 euros for that. The parts from the donor car were the same colour code as my car and it matched perfectly. Working on this car was pure pleasure.
😍🔥 Mint! Today , (since 2018 that my Alfa was storage with it 2nd engine failure) Pulled the engine and gearbox out. Damm that t.s 2.0 it's heavy p.o.s. Going to remove the flywheel, to be drilled to fit that VW engine. And "mock" the vw engine up to the Alfa gearbox, and check for clearance to fit the stater. Only problem on the chassis it's the suspension Rubbers , it's all teared up and cracked. Hope I can buy new ones ...
Another amazing job Neil, think the owner will be chuffed that his Alfa is running again. Good thing you had all the spare parts lying around. Hope you liked the Car SOS show last Thursday?
Good work again as usual. Well worth saving a sport wagon ... I would have added a bit of black paint on some of the front bits before they were covered up.. But I am extra fussy...
Nicely done on the repairs. It’s a pity though one doesn’t take the extra trouble to tidy up the rusty parts, eg various brackets, supports and use some nice new zinc coated bolts rather than simply reinstalling the rusty bolts as was. I guess that’s all a part of living and driving cars in the UK with salt on the roads that parts get all crusty and will rust away in time. I Am so glad out here in Oz we don’t use salt on the roads.
@@ItaliaAutos I understand Neil, it just seems like such a missed opportunity. I guess just like the AC pipes/rad. Oh well at least the car was saved 👍😁
Looking forward to part 2 and the final results…. looks like a weird impact that causes a lot of apparent damage to a modern car design but actually just needs the (careful) replacement of a few flimsy parts. Glad the car will live on….
Neil, is it possible that the hubs on the front axle are deformed because of a hard shunt to the front, as you say it...can't seem to pop the spacers on...cheers
Hello, I allow myself to contact you to have your opinion. I have a 159 2.4jtd Q4 ti, and from 60 km / h a vibration is felt in the steering wheel and heard on the front. Have you ever had a problem like this? The wishbones as well as the bearings are new. Thank you in advance and a big thank you for your very good videos. Alfisitment.
There is no need to replace whole headlamp just because those upper mounting brackets are cracked. You can buy new replacement ones that just bolts on.
Great work and the 159 looks now like new. Still some polish here and there and the customer should be happy 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
I can't help but admire your professionalism, you make everything look so easy :)
Thanks for watching. 👍

Your a fast worker Neil 😂. Great to it wasn't just sent to the scrappers, the owner must be very attached to their AlfaRomeo.
Yes they are
You did an amazing job of repairing this. Hope you have recovered as well as you can from COVID-19
Thanks. Yeah I'm getting there now

You got to remember customer pays labour and parts on all those extra details if there not wanted they don't get done. Thanks for watching .

Another well-appreciated video Neil! It's amazing how quickly those metal cutting discs wear down to a very small diameter, even the Bosch ones!
they sure do.
Great job.I was amazed that the airbags were intacked.
Me to.
Well, that hammer really triggered my OCD! :) But the rest was a joy to watch. :) The back of the scudetto should be black though.
it had to come out on this one.
Great work - enjoyed the faster format

Hi, I have a damaged bumper in my Alfa 159. I found a bumper in the color of Alfa Rosso but from the Brera model. Does it fit the 159?
Nice work 💯💯💯
Thanks for watching

Wouldn't of thought so.
Shame Alfa don't make the subframe out of the same steel as the bonnet😆 (not hood Nelly).
Enjoyed that pal, cheers.
Very true
Big up Niel
thanks
Nice job I've got a 159 saloon need my clutch doing is it to hard to do at home ?
I wouldn't fancy it on a driveway as subframe and gear box are really heavy.
@@ItaliaAutos yeah didn't think so haha ill get saving then

wheel balancing maybe
Thank you for your answer, the 4 wheels are new and balanced. I am told that it could come from the gimbal tripods.....
Hi, good job. Do you have an automatic transmission mount left upper(50507163) alfa 159 1.9 jtdm 16V Qtronic, I see a lot of parts?
Nope. Sorry.
hi neil, i am asuming the air bags did not deploy ?
No they didn't
Beautiful car, hope I will be able to get one after we survive russian invasion
Hope your wish comes true.
always wondered with those wrench guns how they dont over tighten bolts n strip the threads?
there put on that way in the factory.
There is no need to replace whole headlamp just because those upper mounting brackets are cracked. You can buy new replacement ones that just bolts on.
Headlight back was also cracked.
Great video, but my TV does not like it, and the screen flicks to black every second. Works fine on my phone though and they're both Android 🤔

Lusso model lower no. Ti yes.
You know that there are individual holders to buy for the headlights?...they are simply screwed in existent holes.
