Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the cables really nicely... it forces the little door so that it doesn't closes and therefore force the outer wall a little bit
The way it's designed you need to find a case with the extra clearance. They really should have indented that side by a half an inch, and it would have made it more compatible with many more cases. Great idea, mediocre execution.
According to Corsair, the 4000 is on their list. www.corsair.com/us/en/explorer/diy-builder/power-supply-units/definitive-list-of-cases-compatible-with-rmx-shift-psus/
I'm not actually using the commander xt though as my system has the iCUE Link throughout. I just use the commander xt to monitor temp 1 & temperature 2. :)
@@TofuRobots I watched a UA-cam vid of the rm1000x shift, from Corsair and how they made it look near and tidy in our Corsair 5000D. I may give that a try too.
I just got this Shift as well, but the 1000w PSU. With a black 5000D case. I'm hoping the CPU cable can snake around better than the current one I have as the All In One cooler is really tight against the CPU cables near the top of the case. Also I hopeful the GPU cables for the 4070Ti will fit better than the current adaptor versions I have. In terms of bend radius. Not so close to the glass front etc.
How did you manage to get the side door to stay closed?. Mine just keeps coming open. I know theres that magnet stand-off but id if it's my cables or not. With my Corsair 5000D case.
It was a pain, but I routed my cables very carefully until I just got it right and the door closed. Try not to overlap other cables, and minimize any "high" points that touch the door. Admittedly there really isn't much room to work with. And magnet is pretty weak.
Your RM850X is loud? I'm not getting any sound at all from mine. I do have 6 fans that are spinning (not counting GPU), but they are all just a gentle hum at idle.
@@TofuRobots yeah the psu is humming very loud all the time even at zero load. i have a mix of 6 noctua and be quiet fans so its near silent at idle. i had switched from my 10 year old 1000w evga to the rm850x for atx3.0 but man is it even loud. i even contacted corsair about it but videos dont do the sound justice, i can hear it from 10+ feet away.
Very helpful. I'm thinking of this combination, with a hard drive and two SSDs. Space will be tight, but looks doable!
very helpful, I was thinking about buying this PSU for my 5000D and was unsure if it would fit...nowI know
Thank you! I am planning on buying this case for this PSU

I really like the idea of the shift PSUs. After seeing this I'm not so sure though. A bit more clearance would be nice.

You think this will fit into a Corsair 4000x mid tower case? Thinking about purchasing

Also i taken the Corsair rgb board out and replaced it with the Corsair Commander XT.😊
Nice!

Curious if hte 1000w Shift fit in the 5000D case?
@marcusdamberger Did your 4070ti's GPU cables fit nicely without too much bend? I'm thinking of getting this same case for a 4080 Super build.
I have an rm850x shift, it's making a noise when starting up, is it a defect?

@@TofuRobots I did notice that, the magnet was not as strong. I may have a go at it again today. 😊 Thanks for that.
how loud do you din the PSU? i just installed mine and god does it ever hum loud at idle
