DIY: Personalized Shoes! ♥

- Hey guys!
Long time no see. :P (I'm sure everyone's grown accustomed to this though.)
So, upon leaving fairy kei, I quickly realized that I'm in serious need of some new video ideas (hence the long absence).
Wanting to carry on the idea of helping people meet their fashion needs without putting out a lot of money, I'm hoping to do a lot more DIY/craft oriented tutorials to offer cheap solutions to people's problems.
The first of which, simply enough, is about shoes!
While the outcome of my pair ended up being very cute in this video, don't think that there aren't other alternatives for brighter, darker, or other alternative images. Feel free to experiment and design as you will. This is just a guideline of things you can do, and/or ways you can do them. xP
Estimated cost to make:
Shoes: $15-$20
Felt: 50 cents
Paint: $5
Buttons: $5 (combined for all buttons bought)
Yarn: $3-$5
Total: $35
Keep in mind though, if you already own shoes, craft supplies, and accessories, the cost will drop significantly. Also try to hunt out bargain prices on your supplies, look for discounts, and check local dollar/general stores for cheap supplies. (Often times, the scrap booking area of craft stores can be a gold mine for decoratives.)
Also, if you would be interested in seeing other DIY shoes I do in the future, or need other design ideas, let me know in the comments or a personal message. I'll make more DIY shoe videos if there's enough need. :P

I hope you guys enjoyed and found this video useful!
Thanks for watching!
See you next video! c:
You can add painters tape around the rubber parts to make sure you don't get paint on them
That is just to adorable! Thank you (and your sister) for making this and sharing with all of us!
I do love how artistic you and your sister are, and how you guys work together.
I love how you suggested the use of tweezers while using the glue gun...Oh, and for those who don't know, there is special hot glue stick designed specifically for use on fabric...I don't know the name, but I've heard about it on UA-cam before.
Gosh, I wish I'd thought of using tweezers when I was hot-gluing the fake pearl strands back onto our Christmas angel last year...Would have saved me a lot of pain.
Yay! I've been wanting to paint a pair of white sneakers with pastel colors for a while~ I saw this video and was like "YESSSSS SHE POSTED A DIY SHOE TUTORIAL." 33 I love em~
This video is so creative! I bet I could bleach some of my old converses and repaint them the colors I'd like! Neato ideas I so want to try this just to cuten up some of my older shoes. Thank you so much for the ideas.
OMG, I have just fallen in love with a pair of shoes.
Such a creative idea!
Love this! Super cute shoe design (: Love to see more DIY things in the future!
They are called an eyelet and most shoes have metal eyelets. They are kind of hard to pain because you usually can just scratch the paint right off. Your best bet would be to use acrylic paint (no fabric medium). Paint the eyelets and then paint over the color with a varnish or something like modge podge. Though even with all that you may have to make touch ups after they have been worn a while.
i really want to do this, i’m into decora and fairy kei fashion, but i’m worried they’ll get destroyed because i live in a rainy city. any suggestions on how to waterproof them?
edit: woah i’m really late nobody’s going to see this yikes
They make special waterproofing spray for shoes that you can buy at shoes stores that will make them more resistant
Your ideas and tutorials/guidelines are really really helpful, easy and inspirational thankyooou!!! u
I'm going to try this, I finally found good and cheap white canvas shoes which fit to me!
Cool! You should definitely make more DIY videos in the future, you're super creative!
These are so adorable! I'm going to make a pair of my own asap. :3
how long did it last? Did you use something to make the paint not become stiff and/or crack lateR?
Awesome awesome awesome! Well done
Cute!!!
Love how they turned out
1. Can I use spray instead of acrylic paint?
2. When the shoe gets wet, won't the paint distill/blur? :)
Nox Nekori well you shouldn't use acrylic at all it should be fabric paint so it won't come off
so cute omfg
these are beyond cute! 3 NEED. D':
So KAWAII!!!! I LUV IT!!!
once again an amazing job done.
Soo cool!!!
Oh my gosh, these are so cute!!The ideas are sooo cute x33
Where did you get the hi tops from? I'm actually looking for a pair like these for an upcoming cosplay :3
if you use this type of paint will they rub off when it gets wet?
This is such a neat idea! I may have to try this soon 8D
Does the Acrylic paint get all crackly? Or wear off when it gets wet?

I just wanted to say... You're wonderful! Your tutos are wonderful! You are so cute and original. ♥
YOU MOM SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUU xDD !
Wowzaaa!!! :D how long does it take for the paint to dry?
Those are adorable!
What if the shoes are not originally plain white? Can they still be painted over?
What if I use fabric paint only? Will it get cracly?

Where did you get your canvas shoes?
Wauuw haha, somehow these shoes make me happy
I will try this too^-^
It's funny, I painted an old pair of shoes a few days before you posted the video ^u^
If you see the picture where she stuffs the shoe, the flap of the shoe has "H&M" on it... as well as some other text. I assume its the H&M canvas zipper shoe.
.... OnO I love you. I am going to start getting into Fairy kei~ Now to buy some white shoes ~~~
It's soooo cute! Did your shoes are waterproof and resistant? ;3
I love customizing my shoes. I have at least 4 pairs of diy custom chucks.
More tutorials would be awesome, since I want to make stuff myself but am reaaally bad at those things C:

Does the paint come off when raining?
I'm not so sure since it's acrylic paint. (I think not.)
What will you do with all your clothes fairy key?
Blessed u r gifted
IT'S SO CUTE!!!
OMG! LOVE IT!!!!
Truely...Adorable..........
Awesome :D What sort of glue do I use if I can't use a glue gun?
Special fabric glue that you can find in craft stores (don't use cheap "glue on everything glue", it will come off)
Can I use another shoe model??
awesome & cute !
Where are the shoes from, Pastel? :O
omg its so cute ♥
I would recommend adding duct tape or similar to the rubber parts of the shoes c: That way you can just peel the tape off when you're done~
This made me want to custom my own shoes. : 3
u can use a tape to cover that white rubber area
