Yeah especially with the rise of single parents. Women/moms tend to buy activity based toys not action/violence based ones. They also like using the screen as a babysitter so the kid sits still quietly rather than making noise and mess using their imagination playing with toys.
@@JurassicRod boys and girls are different for sure. But put them with a group of friends and iPads are not a thing - they need activity and to run around to burn energy (especially boys). @@shawnd567 definitely. For instance, they had the SLU basketball goal for $4. I didn't even need another one but bought it anyway. If the figures were $5 I would buy way more for customs
They don't seem to discount toys as fast. When the MyPillow buyout they did wasn't selling, they discounted them to 2/$10 and then 3/$10. Still took a few months of slowly dwindling, then one week they were just all gone. So not sure if finally sold or got shipped off to somewheres else.
Disney should be required to buyback all the toys that don’t sell after sitting at places like Ollie’s for +2 years and either donate them or recycle the plastic.
Disney has more money than god, they could absolutely afford to take all this garbage, form it into a giant ball and launch it into space to get rid of it.
The best part about Lego is that the builder is in control of how they’re used. They can have the wokest set in the world but you can still use those bricks for any other creation you want, dependent on your skill and imagination.
It's weird that the 1% of the population they made these movies for haven't shown up to buy all these toys😂 I've picked up some good stuff at Ollie's though. Several GI Joe Classified Series figures for 5 bucks and 1/25th scale model car kits for cheap.
Reva had to be not only poor character design but she was the worst actress in the Star Wars universe. She makes the Racist girl from the Acolyte look like a classical actress.
Most kids don't play with action figures these days and adult collectors aren't going to buy woke garbage! Toy stores are ruining themselves at this point. When are they going to " wake up " and realize that enough is enough?
That’s true, kids they don’t play with the action figures quite like they should these days or like they used to. They always have their faces buried in their little damn cell phones playing those ridiculous games that frankly are confusing and a waste of time!
In the documentary named something like George Lucas vs The People, it was stated that the Earth would eventually be covered with a thin layer of plastic from Star Wars product. It looks like Disney Star Wars is getting there faster.
I've been to my local Ollie's and I can confirm, it's true at every location 100%! Racks full of unsold Star Wars action figures and piles of Shuri Copters and a few Iron Heart figures too, none of it sold for months and years. Even when there are little kids in the store, they show ZERO interest in the SW and Marvel stuff. Not one Eternals figure has sold since that movie came out, Ollie's is running out of room for that crap.
I love how the secondary piles of Riva's are hidden behind other single figures...like someone at the store is self conscious enough to want to hide them. 😆
I used to spend $10k a year on star wars toys and experiences for me and my 3 sons. But since Star Wars collapsed we got into Pokemon and sports cards. We got into it because star wars failed. There is a correlation to the rise in sports card’s and Pokemon cards since lucasfilm collapsed. Then instead of fixing lucasfilm guess what Disney has gotten more into card sales. Disney launched a Pokémon style game and there brand new star wars and marvel cards. Ha ha. They probably don’t even know the reason cards became more popular is because of Disney’s terrible content. They just don’t get it?!?!
Last anime toy I had bought was a Playmates 40th Anniversary Voltron for $200....it's not as nice looking as the Bandai versions, but for that price...
As someone who likes to build my own custom dolls and figures out of cheap knock off dollar store toys, this looks like a treasure trove to me! Man I wish I lived in America... I'd haul that load away for free! Edit: oooh who's the hawt shirtless guy in the Black Panther section?
I'm sure I post this on every video but there is no doubt in my mind that some DEI garbage forced them commit to producing ten times more female action figures than they knew they could possibly sell. Especially of the black characters. I guarantee some purple-haired ham-beast stood there in the meeting and demanded that they make just as many Holdo and Riva figures as they did of Han Solo and Darth Vader to help their precious ESG rating.

Do kids still play with toys? I thought parents just gave them iPads and stuck them on the couch? And that's why more adults buy toys for themselves than for kids.
Kids still do I work at a toy store and we have a ton of little kids come in every day, and Spider-Man and Darth Vader toys are some of our hottest christmas gifts this year (they sold out within a week, and the only other toy that sold out within a week this holiday season so far was a "mama suprise" toy bunny rabbit)
I really feel bad for kids growing up after the 80s when it comes to toys! We had the absolute best cartoons, movies and the toys/merchandise made from them! Transformers, G.I. Joe, Voltron, Thundercats, He Man, GoBots, Silverhawks, Robotech, Macross, M.A.S.K, COPS, Dino Riders, Garbage pail kids, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the original Star Wars etc etc. Everything sucks for the kids these days!
COPS had a toy line? My bad. I thought it was that FOX reality TV show that ran for thirty some seasons.😁("Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Wat'cha Doooo....") Jokes aside, I fondly remember the Kenner Star Wars years.....I was one of those kids who never got an Imperial Heavy Walker for Christmas in 1981, but got one in a flea market years later and tried to keep the dust off of it while it sat on my dresser next to a 1975 Mickey Mouse bank full of loose change.
I'm genuinely curious how a business like Ollie's makes money if their inventory seems to be 90% junk that the bigger stores couldn't sell, and what does Ollie's do when that junk just rots on their shelves for so long like the Shuri Copter.
Here's a funny thing. As you start showing the unsold Reva figures, a ad bar pops up in lower left of the video saying they are available at Wally World (aka Walmart) for a given price, as well as more Marvel and SW toy ads after that. YT and Walmart are trying hard to sell you this crap while watching a video on the unsold toys. How ironic.
I only buy toys from Salvation Army. I let my three year old play with the Star Wars crap. I’ll later hand down my collection from over the years. But while he’s learning to play, he’ll be destroying Reva and those other crappy ones. Ahhahahahaha. I’m saving the better ones for later on.
The star wars stuff cracks me up. I worked in a Target in the toy department when the new movies came out and I remember getting boxes and boxes and boxes of these star wars black series figures and then they just didnt sell. And they went on sale and still didnt sell. And eventually we loaded an entire pallet up with these things and put them on a truck that took them away. Disney was so damn sure people would love these lol
I either to cry or vomit when I saw those at Wal-Mart....toys based on some series of internet videos which apparently has an audience among adolescents, as if society hasn't devolved enough.
Mattel hardly made any toys at all for Transformers One, even though I left the theater wanting an action figure. Meanwhile, they pump out junk for movies no one likes. 😢
My friends son is glued to his iPad 90% of the time but last time I was over there we played with some hot wheels. I have faith that hot wheels are eternal.
It's kind of funny. many kids i witnessed recently seem to be getting interested in toys/things that were popular ,back from when i was a kid. For example, the model railroading hobby. I went to a train show recently and i heard kids saying that building model railroad layouts are more fun because they keep occupied w/ building/making stuff for layouts ,all the while running their favorite trains. One kid even said it's better than sitting around a pc or a VR headset all day. I think this is a sign of an awakening for kids, lol.
Back in the day, actually did have a couple of Street Shark figures. Those were fun times and kind of odd seeing them back again for what ever reason. Either way, I could bet you the Street Shark re-releases will likely sell better than most anything Disney Star Wars.

But the thing is it takes a big corp a long time to actually die because of all the invested capital. See the state of General Motors a few decades ago before they bailed that firm out.
"There's not enough adult toy collectors to help them turn a profit."
The collectors also don't want a lot of this stuff, because surprisingly enough nostalgic adults aren't that inclined to buy new characters pushing new toxic politics. The real surprise if anything though is that the retro-bait doesn't sell that well... though I would hazard a guess that the 80s-90s replica toys just intrinsically don't have the same value as the original product from the 80s-90s.
These companies are bleeding out, but holy they have so much blood to bleed
Hasbro sucks, Mattel is worse. Plastic figures with no bubble are $30....ya, no thanks....
They should just pack up these crappy toys and send them over to third world countries where kids don’t have any toys at all. Even crappy toys based on movies and TV shows they’ve never seen wild still have a better chance of being appreciated……better than consigning them to a landfill for heavens sake!
on whos dime? ollies is going to lose their shirt, even paying pennies on the dollar for this trash. Are you volunteering to buy, box, and cover shipping cost? Taxpayers also shouldn't have to foot these losses, let alone, shipping more trash... somewhere else.
Starving kids in Africa could eat those toys
@@johndough8115 On Pissney´s dime. They should practise what they preach for once and help some underprivilleged kids while not destroying the environment with plastic waste at the same time.
2024 young kids want outfits they can wear, action figures they can smash up, Lego. Older kids want console and games (Minecraft / Fortnight). Parents don't want piles of plastic to trip over in every part of the house. This isn't the 90's
The idea that children sit quietly and don't disturb parents has never been a thing - and shouldn't be, let them play
@BradMaga-75 it's not fine. Children should not be allowed anywhere near that brain rot that is the Internet.
@@JurassicRod 100% true. My sister does this with her 2 kids and so does my sister in law.
But that's exactly what Lego is. Plastic landmines

Mount Failure will have to have a sibling, Mount Star Was. Eyup.
Even Ollie's prices are too high for some of this crap ..
Totally agree. I would buy a lot of those 10 dollar figures for only 5 dollars
they should pay me to bring this junk to my house
Yeah honestly they should mark this stuff down to $1-2. Then you might actually move something. $5/10 is ridiculous for second hand, dated toys.
Those things are getting buried in the desert somewhere and unlike the ET cartridges, ain’t nobody gonna go looking for those
Disney has more money than god, they could absolutely afford to take all this garbage, form it into a giant ball and launch it into space to get rid of it.
Lego are pretty much only toys that are worth your time and money
The best part about Lego is that the builder is in control of how they’re used. They can have the wokest set in the world but you can still use those bricks for any other creation you want, dependent on your skill and imagination.
Lego the sky is the limit for creating things
That along with transformers, though only the ones with great design and transformations
@@UNEDeathGuard What does woke even mean? How do you put woke and lego in a single sentance?
@@pivomanslovensko It's nearing the end of 2024 and you claim to not know what Woke means.
The Disney graveyard.
It's weird that the 1% of the population they made these movies for haven't shown up to buy all these toys😂
I've picked up some good stuff at Ollie's though. Several GI Joe Classified Series figures for 5 bucks and 1/25th scale model car kits for cheap.
Yeah thats interesting finding stuff at that price
Shouldn't Disney lose ESG points because of all that plastic waste?
Their E rating should be in the negative numbers.
Reva had to be not only poor character design but she was the worst actress in the Star Wars universe. She makes the Racist girl from the Acolyte look like a classical actress.
Your anti-Blackness is showing!
A Toy Story movie made in this place would be a nightmarish tragedy.
Most kids don't play with action figures these days and adult collectors aren't going to buy woke garbage! Toy stores are ruining themselves at this point. When are they going to " wake up " and realize that enough is enough?
Proof?
People aren’t buy the figures, it’s obvious.
@@radeltathe full shelves of unsold toys isn’t proof enough?
@@radelta hit play.
Young Jedi Yahtzee ? Who in the hell ever thought anybody would want these? 😂
there is so much shit in these stores it reminds me of that toy story scene where a bunch of buzz lightyear toys were on shelves
I love Stan Lee but I'm glad he isn't around to see what's become of Marvel and the comic industry. It really kind of died with him.
I can't believe we've gone from Stripperella to this.
@@VeylonWe Need A Stripperella Movie
Even $3.99 is too much for these action figures..
But...but...The 64 year old marketing analyst they pay 500k a year to consult with said this is what the kids are clamoring for!
It's almost as if girl action figures don't sell as well in boys action figure toy lines.
Shocker 🤗
Chun li is kool but yeah pretty much
Only characters like Hinata from Naruto, Wonder Woman and Spider-Gwen sell well, and that's because people actually like those characters
A lifetime on a dying shelf watching every other toy be sold

Typical youtube trash
We need more anime toys...
I know I'm being bs but, We also want transformers toys. Ones from bayverse, WFC and FOC
Last anime toy I had bought was a Playmates 40th Anniversary Voltron for $200....it's not as nice looking as the Bandai versions, but for that price...
The stupidity of producing a line of "kiddie" star wars figures, Star Wars is already for kids.
I just wish Rings Of Power had action figures. I would LOVE to see them pilled up at Ollies too 😂😂😂
As someone who likes to build my own custom dolls and figures out of cheap knock off dollar store toys, this looks like a treasure trove to me!

These ollie's employees gotta be wondering why some dude just keeps wandering in and filming all the star wars toys. 😂
Poor Ollys. They dont deserve the shame that Disney does. I got new flooring for my cabin half cost at Ollys. I only got groomed by Disney..

I just LOVE that mountain of 2+ year old garbage toys. It's so great to look at where we've come to.
The Shuri Copter is the unofficial mascot of WCBS.
19:34 funny you say that because I work at Toys R Us and on Monday we got in a shipment of the Spider-Man 4 inch figure packs and by friday they were all sold out
Planning on checking my Ollies tomorrow. My local CVS has turned into a mini Ollies--for just Wish toys.
Do kids still play with toys? I thought parents just gave them iPads and stuck them on the couch? And that's why more adults buy toys for themselves than for kids.
Kids still do
I work at a toy store and we have a ton of little kids come in every day, and Spider-Man and Darth Vader toys are some of our hottest christmas gifts this year (they sold out within a week, and the only other toy that sold out within a week this holiday season so far was a "mama suprise" toy bunny rabbit)
My bad. I thought it was that FOX reality TV show that ran for thirty some seasons.😁("Bad Boys, Bad Boys, Wat'cha Doooo....")
Jokes aside, I fondly remember the Kenner Star Wars years.....I was one of those kids who never got an Imperial Heavy Walker for Christmas in 1981, but got one in a flea market years later and tried to keep the dust off of it while it sat on my dresser next to a 1975 Mickey Mouse bank full of loose change.
I'm genuinely curious how a business like Ollie's makes money if their inventory seems to be 90% junk that the bigger stores couldn't sell, and what does Ollie's do when that junk just rots on their shelves for so long like the Shuri Copter.
I would never want someone to give me something from Black Panther Wakanda forever. I'd rather a barbie and an optimus prime
How ironic.
I would take advantage of cheap star wars vintage collection and black series. The figures I want anyways. And a lot of the retro collection
Thats the fun part you might find classic characters if you are into (if we had Olies here in 🇨🇦 id watch for gi joe star wars Motu Transformers Lego
How many Shuricopters are still unsold? Surely you can't be serious!
Oh, but I am serious! And she's called Shuri.
In Denmark we are required to sort our garbage, whilst Disney is pumping this plastic cr4p out their b-holes!
I went to a store today and they had skibidi toilet toys. Wtf even is that.
Appealing to the brainrot ones…
I either to cry or vomit when I saw those at Wal-Mart....toys based on some series of internet videos which apparently has an audience among adolescents, as if society hasn't devolved enough.
Mattel hardly made any toys at all for Transformers One, even though I left the theater wanting an action figure. Meanwhile, they pump out junk for movies no one likes. 😢
I'm surprised Ollie's isn't just saying ENOUGH and buying no more of this junk.
Kids are barley playing with toys today , most of them are on iPads and tiktok
Fr I was in the toy aisle looking at the transformers and the only other person there was a man recording himself with a Superman toy
Kids these days are tablet zombies.
Blame their parents
My friends son is glued to his iPad 90% of the time but last time I was over there we played with some hot wheels. I have faith that hot wheels are eternal.
Kids these days still do play with toys, but mostly toy pets, LEGOs, Hot Wheels, anime figures and expensive Japanese action figures of Spider-Man
Well, if SW keeps calling us all racists?
The sight of all those star wars figures at reduced prices has made me stop buying the Figures at full price in the UK. Not wasting my money anymore.
And in a couple weeks, the mall near my hometown gets its own unsellable toy mound. Oh joy.
Let me guess. It's getting an Ollie's shop? Or are you talking Macy's making another toy section for Christmas?
@Code7Unltd Ollie's

Only way to make something good with this comes from melting the plastic for lawn chairs.
