- This is really not a bad job thanks for watching. Of course it has to go to the dealer for programming and set up so we can recognize the new battery in the module. Disclaimer:

Looks pretty easy. DIY… car up on ramps or jack stands (depending on battery height) and a couple harbor freight trans jacks. Great vid! Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome sounds like a plan
Presumably you filled the coolant at some point? What is involved in that procedure? I suspect you have to get the coolant pump running to flush the coolant through all the battery cooling passageways? Or do you have to attach an external pump? Thanks!
Through the diagnostic scan tool, you activate a coolant pump continue to top off coolant. Do this a couple of times and you’re all set
Great video. If the battery stops working does the car just continue to run on gas. Does it start and run with interior lights like a regular car. How much does it cost to replace a hybrid battery and who still does it. Thanks
This car does not continue to run our gas for the battery goes bad. Average cost actually for this repaired these days suggest replacing the whole battery probably about $10,000
Even if one cell good bad the car would not charge it even turn on on ICE yes in the 10k for battery
this is great but I didn't see anything about refilling the coolant. Is it just normal engine coolant?
Yes, it’s just a universal antifreeze
Great job you did but remind me not to try this!
It’s really not all that bad but I hear ya
@@CoopersAutomotiveRepair where is part 1
Are transmission and battery interchangeable between first generations?
Sorry, I just saw your comment. I don’t know the answer to that.
I have a dealer telling me that the center battery of my battery pack is dead and affecting the over all battery pack. Car went into limp mode for me home and would never restart and had to be towed to dealer. Just got quote from chevy dealer 18,000 for the part and about 5000 for the repair. If I replace the battery pack as you did is there Ecm or computer task needed to purge coolant and or reprogram the battery to the car? Any guidance would be appreciated. I hate to part the car out as this is the first issue with it and has been a very dependable garage kept car. Most ran on battery since new around town. Low time engine usage. I see used battery for Less that 5000. I was a past mechanic and feel the exchange was straight forward but concerned the computer updates and programming my dealer items. Can you share that info if you have it?
Yes there’s a currently but I had to have this one reprogrammed at the dealership
For context, dealers must provide reprogramming services for the purpose of repair. They can charge a fee but it can't be ridiculous.
where can i get this done
Do you have to research it is getting very difficult to get these batteries these days.
How much did you charge to replace the one on the vodeo
