To be fair, the fervent dismantling of Sheikah tech is understandable. Not only is it useful as components, but the presence of even dead Guardians probably served as a really somber and scary reminder of the death and destruction they once brought to Hyrule.
I for my part am glad they are gone... most scary thing that happens now while riding through the wild is... getting attacked by trees. Seriously I find those even more freaky then the gloom hands xD
I mean, until they were dismantled, there was no guarantee they couldn't and wouldn't be used to attack Hyrule again.
The calamity proved that they were more of a threat than anything else.
Okay? But you'd think that tech and the components would get used to atleast make things in a similar image. There not really any justification to how few remnants of that technology is littered throughout the world, especially considering how uninhabited most of the areas of hyrule are.
@@precisemotionwe saw the entire kingdom get ravaged after ganon seized the sheikah tech, and are questioning why they got rid of it?
@@seungkwanbot3203 Got rid of it how? fucking dusted it? turned it to powder? they should make a dlc where you have to reprogram a guardian to fight some kind of huge boss

I liked the implication that after the calamity the modern Sheikah dismantled and repurposed the remaining guardians and ancient tech. The Sheikah shrines being absent from places where they were prominently featured before seems odd, but the Zonai shrines are even more odd.
But some guardians where in extremly remote places how did they even find them all in just a few years?
@@KeinNiemand probably link told them
some shrines such as the tena ko'sah shrine from that one memory in botw make no sense as to why they're gone, since they didn't rise out of the ground

If you speak to some NPC's not sure which can't remember. They tell you the zonai shrines just appeared after the upheaval.
I wonder how link reacted when they took away his master cycle

It annoys me to no end that all the Shiekah tech is gone. The towers I can understand. They sunk back into the ground after the Calamity was stopped. I can also understand the dormant Guardians being cleared away from Hyrule field, Fort Hatano and other more populated areas. Less so the Great Plateau as no one seems to want to go there. But what about the Divine Beasts? Did they bury something so big already? And the shrines? They were still above ground and dormant before the Calamity so it seems unlikely they sunk underground. And the Shrine of Resurrection! What the hell happened there?! Go check it out for yourselves if you haven't already.
They dismantled them out of fear of Calamity Ganon taking them over again and nearly obliterating Hyrule, and repurposed the parts for other things, likely the rebuilding of hyrule and the new skyview towers, since taking over the towers wouldn't accomplish much for Ganon anyways
@Cxvlestial Completely dismantling the Divine Beasts is stupid. What'll happen the next time Calamity Ganon comes back?
@@lordtrinen2249 there's no point in risking them being corrupted again. yeah they were a big help but only after 100 years. what if Link gets incapacitated again? then you have these useless giant death machines that are so powerful they shift entire regions weather patterns just by moving around. waaay more trouble than they're worth
@@kasagure. I also think people forgot that the secret cutscene with zelda at the end of botw where she states that vah ruta "mysteriously shut down might mean that the spirits of the champions saw how the divine beasts could be a major threat the next calamity and permanently shut them down one by one. also their presence probably causes the same amount of trauma as the dead guardians, and is the explanation for the shrines being gone too. too much trauma caused by sheikah tech from the past, so they dismantled and reused it for the newer age sheikah tech like skyview towers and the purah pad.
@@animegod2146 my question is, other than the gameplay purposes of removing botw’s equivalent of ultra hand, fuse, etc, why get rid of the shekiah slate in favor of the functionally inferior purdah pad? (Not that I have ANYTHING against the new abilities and designs in totk)
Even if the old Sheikah tech was dismantled rapidly after BotW, you would still assume the Shrines and dilapidated Guardians left in remote areas would still be around.
I just don't like how virtually _all_ traces of the ancient Sheikah stuff spread about Hyrule simply vanished without a trace. I'm hoping for an in-lore explanation.
You won't get it.
Most of the prominent shrines became chasms. I'd wager that those shrines are the only confirmed ones for the lore since they all became giant holes that sunk back into the ground.
The reason is that Nintendo doesn't want to muddy the waters of their new game with their old game, so that you don't feel like you need to play botw to understand totk, it's for kids after all. That's the reason, there's 1 guardian that's a nod, their arms are reused in towers alson
Had that stuff still been around, any remaining tech could have been repurposed by Gloom to turn against Hyrule again.
How would kids solve those puzzles and Beat the temples? And have enough patience to read all what npc have to Say??? It seems too complicated for them honestly
@@fraby2710 uh... I assume by playing the game? It really isn't hard. Nor is reading if the kid has a bare basic education.
Gotta love how little credit kids seem to get these days. If they're interested in it, they'll apply themselves to it. If they just wanna dick around and not pay attention, they'll probably just mash A until the strange character shuts up and move on.
I like to think tht the lack of guardians in TOTK is because of Purah and her team of scientists repurposing the bot’s parts to create the sky towers. When Link is first introduced to the sky tower at Lookout Landing by Purah, he’s grabbed by mechanical arms tht resemble guardians.
Yeah but there's HUNDREDS of guardians. They have eight legs a piece. That physically doesn't add up. Where is the rest of the resources.
@@zerorose4011 they could be used in parts of the towers we can’t see. Could also be melted down and reshaped into other structure parts, maybe?
@Aaron sure could be. It sure as hell isn't told anywhere though. Environmental storytelling or otherwise.
The launch pad of the towers is an entire guardian scout flipped upside down. The legs are still attached to the whole thing, though it does have the wrong number of legs. You can see it's body as it lifts up to throw Link into the air.
Either that and/or the upheaval corroded all the sheikah tech too.

@@Nicolas_GE No... make it the boss of the spirit temple, and we fight in the the giant mech.
@@Nicolas_GE The Battle Tested Guardian from Age of Calamity lmao.
The sudden disapearance of all sheikah tech had me bummed out
There are likely 2 reasons why
Reason 1 is ganondorf's upheavel disentegrated most of the ancient shiekah tech and only a bit remained
Reason 2 is that after BOTW evryone decided to salvage all ancient technology and throw it away to sea just so that ganon doesnt corrupt them again but they kept some of it to make those huge cannon towers that blast link to the sky
In all fairness, who would be keeping around pieces of Skynet tech after it was shut down?
Honestly would have been nice to even have just one sentence explaining it.
"During the upheaval, all of the old Sheikah tech was destroyed." And it would make sense because there were probably a ton of earthquakes (who knows how earthquake proof they were), etc. Or at least something like that. It keeps hitting my brain sometimes like a stop point just like... why.
I was starting to think that the near complete absence of the guardians could have been a sign that we are dealing with a different timeline where almost everything played out similarly but differently.
The only ancient sheikah weapon I know of in totk is the ancient blade, which is basically the arrowhead of an ancient arrow from botw.
It makes you wish that either as DLC or as a bonus for playing Age of Calamity you could build a little Guardian buddy like terrako that would fight along side you like the other companions.
I’m holding out hope that there will be SOMETHING in a possible dlc that references ancient tech
Especially with the existing ability to summon companions, a little guardian laser would be so easy but so awesome
I NEED Terrako right now
Mineru: am I a joke to you?
@@Elite02k literally just started that part. I've got both legs.
What confuses me is how all the Sheikah technology just disappeared (except for the labs and towers). Like, how did the entirety of the Shrine of Resurrection, the Divine Beasts, and every dead Guardian (even the ones in the most dangerous places to go), and I think even the Astral Observatory where you fought Calamity Ganon, just go away?
the mazes and such seemed to remain but became 'zonia' trail zones and stuff, the trail walls havent changed so
Shrines I can get, sink into the earth. Guardians alive I can also get, go back into towers they came from, and sink into earth. All the dead ones don't make sense, as you'd think their'd be parts of them remaining
They used the parts of the dead guardians to make the skyview towers
Considering the several civilizations and species with unique expertise and some with obvious significant abilities, I’d say 5 to 7 years is plenty of time to remove a lot or almost all of the essential issue they were worried about along the entire map. I don’t doubt how it vanished and was probably used as fuel and alloy for the recent tech. They probably had the stuff they wouldn’t salvage destroyed somehow , it’s unfortunate it’s unclear in that regard like 5 years is a hell of a lot of time in the grand scheme of everyone working together to get rid of about, let’s call 90%
The most annoying part to me is that they don’t even explain it ingame. Like I get it, they don’t want people to think they have to play BoTW to get the game. Fine. But you think they’d have a tiny little dialogue moment.
It’s exactly where I expected it to be, because it was the exact same place in Breath of the wild. They just didn’t change the lab. But I hope someone will find a story reason why all of the towers and shrines are gone
Towers probably went back into the ground
@@Zenith_YT yeah, but that’s the lazy answer to say the upheaval caused all of the towers and shrines to disappear. The guardians either being cleaned up or covered over makes some sense, but what about the divine beasts then. It sure would have been nice to have a giant elephant that make it rain when your kingdom is being buried in sludge. Where would you even hide vah noboris
@@jonasholm-mw5bn very true, they couldn't completely bury all four divine beasts in a few years. however towers would have actually gone back into the ground (maybe also shrines) since the sheikah would have control over them after link activated the first one. what confuses me is why there's a chasm in the exact locations of each great plateau botw shrine. there has to be some connection in that sense
@@jake_0_0 exactly. I don’t remember every location of every shrine and tower, but I remember some. The shrines also had an elevator, so there should be something under there. It would be cool if there was a ruin of a shrine or a crumbled up tower at the bottom of some of the chasms. Do they actually say how long Link had been away between he was under the castle and then waking up on a sky island
@@jonasholm-mw5bn it would be nice but you need to have the necessary skill to pilot one. And it more or less chooses you as much as you choose it so it’s likely that they had to have link and zelda remove and relocate them. They were even saying at the end of botw that vah Ruta was acting funny
Man do I miss ravalis gale. I abused that move way too many times
Rocket on shield is pretty much it.

If you miss the guardians so much, go back to BotW, because I for one am GLAD those scary map sniping dickheads are gone.
My headcanon was that only certain shrines actually existed and the rest were ‘because game’. Towers sunk back in the ground, and Divine Beasts deactivated themselves, they had no more need to be around as Calamity Ganon was defeated for good. Guardians (and/or the Divine Beasts) were dismantled to build the Skyview Towers. The Shrines on the Plateau were destroyed by Ganondorf and/or the Yiga in an effort to ensure Link couldn’t regain his powers or resurrect himself like before.
Or...shrines sunk back into the earth. Makes more sense then a core mechanic not being canon.
In the beginning of the game you have all 30 hearts like at the end of botw so I think the shrines did exist
@@dumbahhbisexual you can only get 27 hearts in base BotW +1 dlc heart.

I really wanted mini dungeon-like structures to be built around the ruins of the Divine Beasts 😂
Nabooris creates electricity and storms by drawing power through/from the sand-so it's collapsing into quicksand/sinkholes pulling it into the Depths, while a massive thunderstorm is generated around it.
Ruta has fallen off the mountain near the lake, so a new channel allows monsters to invade more of Zora's Domain. Ruta has begun to malfunction without Malice and Mipha's spirit has moved on, so underwater dungeon.
Rudania fell into Death Mountain, one leg is still stuck on the upper rock, while the rest of the machine has tumbled (precariously) into the lava. You'd have to navigate in the dark, while the dungeon rocks and shifts deeper into the volcano because it's not stable. At some point, the beast would fall to the side, so then it would become a "quick time event"-escape. You would climb the side as the beast sinks deeper and deeper into the volcano, and you would escape into a tunnel full of rocks you would blow up.
Medoh was holding the upper rock on Rito Village, so it tore that chunk off as it fell into Totori Lake. It knocked some of the other rock spires into the Lake as well. Half of it is propped up on the walls of the lake, and half of it has sunken into the Lake, and a blizzard has frozen the lake. You would traverse through the frozen area while monsters move in and claim the Beast ruins as their "home".
This would've been a really cool idea!
I was really hoping I'd be able to interact with a friendly guardian in TOtK... ah well. At least Age of Calamity has Terrako and the Battle-Tested Guardian
Why did the entire sheikah's technology vanish? What became the monks inside the shrines? Where are the divine beasts (because ganon will technically return in some thousands of years?). Ancient weapons, arrows and elemental arrows were cool too. Wolf Link? Too much questions
I can't remember which well it was in but I found an ancient arrow head in a well while exploring so that means there might be others out there
I mean at least the monks just disappeared after completing the shrine, but yeah everything else, can we at least have some explanation for it?

I thought the guardians were repurposed into the bottoms of the sky view towers. Their legs are what hook you up to the towers.
They kinda were, but it shouldn’t take several 100 guardians with many legs to create a low amount of towers.
I mean, Link probably destroyed most of the Guardian legs so they probably didn't find very many. Besides, it looks like there are more than six legs prepping link for the flight.
The amount of wire they would need just to reach up to the Purah Pad all the way in the sky so it could survey the landscape on one tower would be extreme. Then multiply that by the number of towers there are in the game.

Well the Hylians know that bringing them back is a bad omen, so they just destroy them so the next calamity or Ganondorf won't use those unstoppable machines
Idk why but i love Purahs room. Its insanely cozy up there, especially when it rains. I wish i could just buy that room instead of a whole house lol
I think the obvious approach is to marry purah. Then you can have her and remodel her room, just like what Zelda did to links house in hateno
Something people seem to be overlooking is the Sheikah tech's ability to teleport things, if we go by Age of Calamity entire armies and all the divine beasts can be moved around once you know what you're doing, something Purah & Robbie could figure out over time without the threat of Calamity Ganon destroying everything. Whose to say over half decade or so they didn't just salvage what they needed then just teleported the rest of the stuff to places we can't reach in game.
That actually makes the most sense, but only if we can confirm that AoC is actually working with the same physics and sheikah tech as BotW or TotK [wich is very likely]
Ngl, I miss the Guardians and ancient Sheikah tech :(
the guardians always reminded me the robot from the incredibiles
@@angry998 They do look fairly similar
I know people keep saying "well they probably dismantled all sheikah tech after the BOTW incidents" which is understandable, but it really is frustrating that the game itself doesn't even acknowledge it or that there's not even traces of it. Like, the tech was a huge part of people's lifestyle in botw, whether good or bad, but it just simply disappeared over the course of a few years. I just wish they at least mentioned it or explained it in-game. When Purah gave me the Purah pad, I expected some kind of dialogue that mentioned its blatant similarities to the sheikah slate, but so far have not come across one. It almost kinda feels like they're trying to retcon sheikah tech when all it needs is a simple line of dialogue like "After the calamity, all sheikah tech was dismantled and confiscated." Simple as that.
There's also a guardian on the Akkala ancient tech lab. It's just the head and torso, though.
While it does make sense that the Guardians could’ve been scrapped for parts in the years after BOTW, explaining their absence, the Divine Beasts being potentially destroyed/dismantled doesn’t sit right with me, as both BOTW and AOC heavily imply that they are alive and intelligent and were suffering just as much as the Champions were from the Blights possessing them. The Champions even talk to them like close friends. Hopefully they’re still out there somewhere in Hyrule and the potential DLC lets us know for sure.
Once I realized that the divine beasts were not where they were I was hoping that their wreckage was somewhere and you could explore a part of them or something. I find it hard to believe that such devices could even be dismantled, much less destroyed completely with the level of tech present in the BOTW/TOTK world.
your telling me that if you were a giant war machine that's intelligent, having its only purpose be to protect hyrule by helping the hero destroy calamity ganon with its pilot, could live with itself after being corrupted, allowing its spare parts to turn into deadly amalgamations of tech and malice, and becoming a death prison for a pilot that was your also a friend. knowing the danger you could cause the next time the calamity resurfaces, wouldnt willingly let yourself be dismantled to protect the land you were programmed to protect.
To be fair with the divine beasts, you could argue the final lines in BotW where Zelda talks about Zora domain needing assistance because Ruta is no longer functioning could imply that once they aided in destroying the calamity they just broke down/became inert. Would have been nice to have that described if so though, since some dialogue does still make it clear they did exist, even if some kids are young enough to doubt it.
This is some wacky thinking. If your war machines can just be used against you because of wacky evil demon king magic - like no way to stop it or fight it or keep it from happening then bro thosee things got to go
IMO, I still think sheikah tech is cooler than zonai tech
Yeah, I feel that it’s aesthetically a downgrade, but to be completely fair Nintendo came out with almost perfect designs with the genuinely awesome looking guardian weapons as well as the actual hulking behemoths themselves, and so it was probably very hard to replicate that same feel.
I can agree to that
@@thegreatpapyrus2306 Definitely. I mean, I like the blue/green of the zonai compared to the straight blue of the sheikah. But the shrine endings in botw (those bars shattering into blue pieces of light) looked way better than what we have in totk. Also, while we had sheikah ancient armor and drops related to them we have no equivalent of that in totk far as I know. The only zonai tech that drops is charges and those are consumables, not really crafting ingredients. I love the abilities we get way more in this game (no recall cooldown like stasis had, ultrahand being 100x better than magnesis) but I miss infinite bombs to deal with enemies like skeletons who have 1hp. I just feel like the devs missed a bit more on what they could have added.
You can also see one of the parts from the shrine doors as well near Purah’s room proving even more that they were dismantled, though if Calamity Gannon were to take over the shrines, what would happen?
I was kinda hoping that they would have had a guardian graveyard, or scrap yard in a remote location in hyrule.
When I got to that lab for the first time in totk I remembered a guardian that I found on the roof I back in botw, so I climbed up and saw it, it was kind of nostalgic for a thing that caused so much pain
I kind of miss the guardians, they were always such a blast to have in BotW. I might go back and replay it after I eventually beat TotK.
The guardians missing is a huge negative for me, won't ruin the game at all, but it's just odd seeing them all gone. One less enemy type too in a game that already reuses a ton of code and assets from the previous.
At least not all guardians are gone.
And those things aren't as terrifying as the gloom hands are.
I love these little details!
It was nice discovering that Paya still holds on to the image explaining the story of the Great Calamity from BOTW in her room!
And its even used for a quest, amazing detail.
This is why I didn't mind that the game got delayed several times. I knew they would do something special. Not only gameplay-wise but they also know what the fans love and which hidden references would hit our soft spot.

they should add a dlc where the divine beast resurface to give link his old champions and sheikah abilities. theory/story behind this: the divine beast (including the master cycle zero) took all the sheikah tech with them and left hyrule and link has to find them outside of hyrule to persuade them to help defeat a artificial divine beast made by ganondorf from sheikah tech from the depths.
rewards for this
vah ruta: mipha's grace and cryonis and upgrade sidon's vow
vah medoh: revali's gale and upgrade ultrahand (because magnesis is just worse ultrahand) and uprade tulin's vow
vah rudania: daruk's protection and remote bomb and upgrade yunobo's vow
vah naboris: urbosa's fury and stasis and riju's vow
master cycle zero: master cycle zero and sheikah slate(probably the first part of the dlc) and upgrade mineru's vow
note: all vow upgrades reduces abilities cooldown
extra: master cycle zero can be equiped with zonai devices
i'm pretty sure that the champion abilities left because the champions themselves finally passed onto the afterlife after being a ghost for so long
The sentiment is cool, but it takes two seconds of thinking to realize how this wouldn’t make sense lorewise
Would be interesting for a dlc to have a few of these guys still active and not under ganon's control.
Like an underground storehouse noone found with a couple of intact ones.
NGL I miss those Guardians... taking them on was one of the stress inducing Highlights of BOTW. I kinda wish story wise there could have been some remains somewhere in the world or at least have one still walking around.
I don’t mind so much that the shekiah tech is gone what really bothers me is that nobody mentions that it used to be there. No mention of it sure would be nice to have a divine beast after all this upheaval, I’m so glad those dangerous walking weapons are no longer roaming around attacking people, or maybe even remember when we dismantled the divine beasts in order to figure out how to make better tech. Seriously the tech didn’t have to come back but having nobody talk about its disappearance at all is actually bad writing.
I don’t like the idea that the divine beasts were dismantled and along with them the champions spirits gone :/
It feels like a retcon honestly. Absolutely zero mention of them in totk.

It honestly would have been cool to see the divine beasts roaming around once more in tears of the kingdom but hey i guess this change is nice too
ALTHOUGH WE NEED A DLC THAT CLARIFIES ON WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ANCIENT SHEKAI TECH
I am not too sure, but from what I understand the two timelines, BOTW and AOC got muddled up together in a way of basically, this ganon wouldnt really exists if the lil egg didnt go back in time. The reasons all the sages present timeline ones even have those powers is connected to AOC, especially Tulins. It's possible that the reason npcs don't remember Link that well or the gaurdians and sheikah tech are all but gone is possibly due to the timeline muddle up. New enemy types, new tech, the enviroment has changed, lore has been messed with. All bc terrako wanted to make sure the calamity never truly happened by getting the past fighters, revali and so on to help keep their tech and fight phantom ganons forces.
Again I'm not fully sure but I am strongly connected to the fact terrako going back in time messed up the present timeline.
AOC isn't really canon.
After meeting Gloom Hands, I immediately became nostalgic for Guardians.
I actually miss them. Never was I more scared of a red line
I am really hoping they can make a DLC for totk and explain what happened to the Divine Beasts or the sheikah technology in the future. please.
What I love is that every sky view tower uses gaurdians or at least their tendril legs to equip link with survey gear. Pretty cool seeing how the ancient tech is repurposed into different things
Honestly makes me mad that they're all just gone without a trace. At least leave the decayed ones. Map looks like the events of the first game never happened smfh. Was waiting for a secret last surviving guardian boss that never came too =_=
I discovered it for myself a few days ago! No prior knowledge, just dumb luck.

That the Guardians and Titans vanish without any explanation and are mentioned by absolutely no one, even though they were considered deities before is one of the major narrative flaws of the game. Aside from the other major flaw that no one bothers to explain how Calamity Ganon and Ganondorf are connected.
I found an arrowhead from an ancient arrow in a chest by a lake west of Satori mountain's peak. I haven't used it yet so I don't know if it works the same way it did in BotW, but it's definitely a cool and special relic to collect

Yes because purah never smiles in totk
did anyone go to the beach where that one guardian loving woman was?
Yeah, from what I can tell, it's pretty empty. Wish they had filled it with... something.
In a place you wouldn't expect? That's the only place I'd expect it. More surprised that they didn't bring them back in this game. It's been what? 5+ years since the calamity happened?
I love tears of the kingdom, but it’s missing two crucial things: guardians and hearty durians.
It would be really funny if it activated after you got the korok.
I was upset to learn that there weren't any cured and repaired guardians walking around TOTK. rip Lazer Bois
I wanted an actual orange guardian stalker repaired by Purah which this time would in fact fight on your side as an ally. It would have been great to fight alongside the 4 sages, Mineru's construct and a guardian stalker as a symbol of revenge in the name of all the sheikah guardians who could do nothing against the Calamity 100 years ago.
Ayo that's actually sick
I really wish that they added A single Guardian enemy in a obscure location but like a really weak version that does 5 hearts of damage max and has a slow charge time
I was honestly hoping for exactly that. Sure, I hated laser parrying (and having to reload saves if I failed to parry 3 in a row) but between their iconic music and just the design of the enemy in general I was hoping for a lingering guardian or two here or there. I was especially surprised not to find one in the mazes, where I thought the biggest chance to find one would be.
I would've liked something akin to the battle tested guardian in AoC but way less tanky.
Makes you wonder where all that tech went?
i dont mind that the shiekah stuff from botw is all gone, but what i /do/ mind is that they didn't show what happened to it all. there should have been some explanation, or at least /some/ remnant that was still in the process of being dismantled. the pillars that were around hyrule castle, for example - if they just went back into the ground, you should be able to find them and explore inside them in the depths. maybe a shiekah shrine or two could have still been around, not fully dismantled yet. the divine beasts, of all things, should have had /some/ evidence of being there - i'd have loved to see a partially torn apart vah rudania just sitting there with scaffolding and people working on it after everything was said and done in that area.
i'm cool that they dismantled the tech! it makes sense! but why didn't they show or explain any of it at all? why don't npcs mention it at /all/? i really do hope that if they do dlc, it touches upon this.
Pov: when you forgot to remove all copy assets from the old game
Hylians: "These guardians are too dangerous, let's deconstruct all of them for parts and NEVER let them be rebuilt..."
Link riding a metal grate with 6 moving legs, a Construct Head on top that aims and fires lasers, fire, electricity, ice cannon rounds and a control stick with 30+ Big batteries attached as well as armour made from sleds: "Uhhhh, this is okay though, right? Cause- Y'know... I'm controlling it!"
*Explodes a nearby encampment of 3 Boss Boko's accidentally.*
Link: "That was a miss click."
I'm hoping for the DLC to offer the Master Sword upgrade again or infinite arrows.
Had this weird thought, but the platforms or launchpads at the towers, look like a Guardian’s main body upside down just without the head (you can see the lower half for a very short second the launchpad launches from the ground), hence why the Guardian’s repurposed legs appear from the edges of said platform. Please correct me if I’m wrong
It's a guardian scout. The small ones you see inside of shrines.
@@yurisonovab3892 ah okay
I miss the guardians, made the map actually kind of spooky, you felt like you couldn’t go to certain areas of the game because guardians were there. They made the monsters in TotK less “scary” I guess is the right word
Does he know
@@BustThatNutChallenge Let him find out Shhhhh
ohhhh boy you are in for a surprise
I thought the reason there wasn’t any shrines or Divine beasts at all was because Zelda went back in time and altered history causing a paradox or a change in history. So did they really salvage EVERYTHING or can Purah just poses hidden technology that sees through multiple versions of hyrule
God I hate how overreactive people are being about the Sheikah tech being gone. 99% of it can be handwaved as, “It served its purpose and disappeared” or “The Gloom corroded and turned it into dust”. Point being it has no bearing on the story in ToTK, so it’s not really a big deal that it’s gone.
It’s fine that it’s gone I just wish the game itself would say explicitly what happened to it instead of just not even acknowledging it as if it’s not surprising at all or anything yknow?
@@reachablebutton4422they do mention the divine beasts exist in the school and the guardians but I’m confused where it all went
@@reachablebutton4422 to be fair we can assume it mustve happened years ago. Botws ending implies it all stopped working very soon after the Calamity, but youre right I wish they did just say explicitly what happened.
My best bet is that everyone salvaged all ancient technology and used some of it to make those cannon towers that blast link to the sky. They all probably threw the rest of it to sea so that incase ganon comes back he wont corrupt them again
shut up guardians were cold and nostalgia hits diff
I’m hoping that one day someone will mod guardians into TOTK, I can’t imagine that it would be extremely difficult since both TOTK and BOTW use the same engine, so all you would need to do is import all of the guardians code and any file’s associated with guardians into TOTK and then do some tinkering around to get it to work. Kinda surprised people haven’t done this yet tbh.
I already found it before you, you can even find a working guardian with no legs, it was very hard to find, it almost killed me because I was never expecting it, I'm not gonna spoil where it is though, have fun hunting
Idc if they resembled horrifying things to the people, they were so cute. Lil tea pot heads :(.
That's where it was previously in BotW! The programmers just used the exact same model from the previous game. Not really all that surprising...
one thing that I didn't like about ToTK, is that they kinda try to hide a lot of stuff that happened in BotW. Many of the times they mention the previous game is just an easter egg or a secondary mission, but the main plot almost doesn't talk about it at all
There’s one on the Hateno lab
Bruh nvm. I should comment after watching the video lol
I miss the guardians now. I used to be terrified of them, but i realised i didn't know true fear until i saw their replacement, the gloom hands! Well aside from lynels that is!
"It's not where you would expect it to be" and I literally already found it and forgot because I didn't find it that remarkable, because it was already there in botw
new goal: reactivate the guardian
Would be cool to give link a Guardian summon similar to Mineru. Similar to something you'd find in a test of strength.
I mean doesn’t every lookout towers have a guardian? Bc those are certainly guardian arms putting the survey gear on you
I hope the "fresh" guardian parts in Purah's room is hinting at the guardian flail from Age of Calamity. Would be nice to see how that plays in a non-warriors game.
Why is no one talking about the huge pillars close to hyrule castle? We don't even see them in the underground of hyrule castle
Another note: if you look at the support beams in the akalla lab, you can find pieces of ancient trim tied up
I thought I would be able visit the insides of a gaurding like a huge control panel inside.
Guardians are at the base of every single skyview tower. They've been repurposed.
Imagine if we could’ve made our own guardians
If I had to take a guess, the guardians were probably part of the building and it would be too much work to remove them from the building asset.
imagine,, master mode of the tears of the kingdom, they added back the guardians in some open spaces
i doubt ancient weapons wouldve decayed so thats probs why we dont have guardians in totk
It infuriates me that there’s no prompt saying “(A) Search.”
Ayo?? That's the exact outfit I've been wearing? That's crazy
That is quite literally where I would expect it to be lol, aka somewhere involving Purah an ancient researcher.
