I think there's a reason for why the headband revert's Link's face back to a Hylian. I think since they said in the mod it completely changes his appearance in game, they're actually using the MsgNotFound Champion's Leathers and the headband to hide the Zonai form to make his transformation more believable for the headcanon.
My first thought when seeing the thumbnail was "he looks like a baby cow!!!!" Which I think is adorable and the person who made the model should feel very proud of themselves, because I'm proud of them
I like this idea. Link would be proving he's only changed in the physical sense and is still himself deep down. Third eye would likely only open during intense moments, such as when using Flurry Rush.
Fun fact; The Zonai’s third eye only opens when using a sacred power, when they’re angry, or in distress. Also I think what would’ve made this mod even better is making the arm the same color as the rest of the skin, so when it glows it just fades into him. Oh- and coding a custom command for the third eye opening during some sequences would be REALLY hard, don’t know if the modded is in for that lol
This sort of mod just reinforces in my mind it is time for the Zelda series to allow for the main character to be from the other races. Cause the cycles curse shouldn’t make it so that the hero is always hylian. The curse states those who hold the spirit of the hero and the blood of the goddess are will always be bound to it. This would be a great way to introduce picking a gender as well.
I do miss the horns and tail tho.... they looked so cool.... We need the best of both worlds lol, zonai link with horns and tail, but still able to wear other armour sets
I love this mod and would love to play like this because my headcanon for this Zonai Link is that Raru's powers ended up going haywire as he was trying to heal Link and accidentally turned him into a Zonai. And thats why Raru's hand doesn't work in the beginning! His power was used up by not only healing Link, but his power went haywire due to Hylia's blessing and turned Link into a Zonai.
I assume the headband is still Link’s head so that he’ll be hylian in the opening? His body is a separate model, but I think the head uses the same head as the headband.
I have to agree with you on link being turn into a zonai to keep him alive this looks amazing either way i wonder if he had a secret stone of his own obviously the spirit secret stone when you find it in the sky ruins left by mineru herself because if you seen the ending her construct still have the secret stone maybe that's how you will get it at the end would be cool

Good idea on paper, however if we look at what happened with Bethesda, there’s a very good chance Nintendo will both make you pay for the mod, and also take a large fraction of the profit

The Snowquill armor on Zonai Link is kinda fire. I like the braids and ear piece with the Zonai head, plus the fur collar is just 👌Same with the Ember outfit
I personally think the ancient hero is a mix of Gerudo (because of the head piece and read hair), Zonai (the face shape and skin color), Hylian (the short pointed ears), and something else (the tail doesn't really fit into any other races descriptions). It leaves a lot to interpretation which I like.
Now I'm not a furry, but... I need to play this!!! Seriously, I have so many things I want to test out! Like if the dragon headdresses still dye his hair. I kind of liked the tail too. Also, I need a mod that makes those elemental dragon sets always active, even if it's just a visual change.
You mentioned The Second Quest. I've just played about 150 hours into it and have been blown away. I was starting to think "this isn't THAT different from vanilla TOTK", but then I got the Mystic Headgear from Kilton. Some armor pieces have different bonus features and the Mystic set is the most dramatic example of it. You can switch gravity to like the water temple, but anywhere like the surface or the depths. It is so fun! Can't wait to play Second Quest combined with challenge mode for the golden enemies and seized constructs!

That *is* a nice Zonai Link. But I think the Ancient Hero's Aspect has a nice headcanon explanation of its own. Rauru and Mineru were the last two Zonai, right? Except Princess Zelda is his and Sonia's descendant. I think it's very likely their early descendants may have had a more mixed appearance, with some Hylian traits and some Zonai traits. And since the Ancient Hero lived *after* Zonai and Mineru, since he still fought *Calamity* Ganon instead Ganondorf, it's logical if the Ancient Hero was also a descendant of either Rauru or Mineru (though there's no hint of Mineru ever having had children). Over many millennia, through continuous intermarriage with ordinary Hylians who may have greatly outnumbered Rauru's early descendants, those mixed Zonai traits may have diluted until they eventually largely disappeared. It would mean Princess Zelda herself is *still* part Zonai, but it's such a small part of her ancestry that it's not immediately visible. But I think the case of the Ancient Hero is more complex than this. The Ancient Hero has bright red hair and bright green skin, like a Gerudo voe. We know virtually all Gerudo have Hylian fathers - it's the only way they can make more Gerudo, after all. But if Gerudo vai largely intermarry with Hylian men today, there's no reason to think they wouldn't've also been intermarrying with part-Zonai men during a time they were more visible. And since a Gerudo voe is born once every hundred years and it's *not* necessarily always going to be Ganondorf, the Ancient Hero may have been one of those Gerudo voe, except part Hylian *and* Zonai, too. None of that explains the tail, as you're right that Rauru and Mineru don't have one, and the supposedly Zonai statues in the Depths don't have them, either. But those are another interesting case, as though those statues wear Zonai clothes, they don't even have ears or hair, and the shapes of their heads almost look reptilian. Maybe yet another race of ancient Hyrule that dwindled or were exiled over time? Lizalfos? Tokay? Except whereas you can find statues in the Depths of ancient Gerudo, Gorons, Rito and Zora near where you'd usually find those races living on the Surface, these other statues occupy a central location beneath both the Great Plateau and Hyrule Field, implying *those* were their primary lands, at least in the Depths. And yet these areas, too, are filled with Zonai ruins and Zonai technology. And how many verified Zonai have we actually seen? Two, and they're brother and sister. It's entirely possible the Zonai came in a greater variety of appearance in the past, and we don't know what all of these two Zonais' direct ancestors looked like, either. Do we even know that Rauru and Mineru are *themselves* pure-blooded Zonai? They might've already had have some Hylian ancestors, as it's implied the Zonai had a good long period of settlement on the Surface before there were eventually only two left, and a tail or digitigrade feet may be recessive traits. There's just still so much we don't know about the Zonai because the game has still shown us so little of them beyond just two unambiguously confirmed individuals.

the tail does make sense Link looks digitigrade in the ancient' form, and for a digitigrade race a tail is crucial for balance but the zonai looks plantigrade so a tail would be a redundant extra that said, I did like the look of the tail on him, I mean, canonical or not, it didn't look out of place (plantigrade species can have tails, they just serve less purpose) but that aside, I see so many great mods that actually enhance the game well, does anyone know where to look for the emulator?
I mean the npc not remembering link makes sense because there are only thew npcs that remember link and those are the ones that were also in botw but the rest are ether new npcs or grey characters that would of only of heard about link and expect to see him randomly I can’t remember which UA-camr worked that out but it seems to be what Nintendo went for

The NPCS forgetting Link is pretty believable y'know. Link never directly states that he's the Hero, and the NPCs meet a lot of people. Like you when you don't remember every NPCs you saved.

Just a neat headcannon I have, but what if the reason Link doesn't have horns as a zonai is because he's young and only older Zonai grow them? If Link were to stay like this for a long time then horns would start to grow. Idk if that'd be possible to add to the mod unless it was tied to how many hearts you have. At three hearts you'd have no horns and at full health you have full fledged horns. Idk, just a idea
What's a good and easy to use emulator? I want to play around with some mods as well on PC but I haven't a clue where to start. I've only ever downloaded a DS emulator before, so I'm still pretty new to this. TvT
Yuzu is my pick for TOTK, its surprisingly easy, I didn't even need to watch any videos and I got this and a couple other mods working easier than Red Dead 2
I do. But the reason the creator privated the mod is because Nintendo have been DMCA’ing Zelda mods all over Gamebanana. I don’t think it would be smart for me to distribute the mod as I don’t want to get in trouble by Nintendo and potentially have my channel taken down.

I was personally always alright with the tail mostly because everybody kept calling them goats wich would have been fine if asian dragons werent't based on deer and camels to me the tailed zonai made them obviously more "dragon born like" wich i remember the rule being dragonborn gets either the tail wings or breath of a dragon but never all three But thats just my weird rambly ass
the one thing I do miss in zelda games since even botw, the story is mid.......and there's really no sense of danger or rush and no sense of real sacrifice. at least I can say in botw yes zedla sacrificed 100 years of her life to contain ganon and you try to at least get your memories......ONLY FOR even if you collect every memory or play in the champion ballad she still has the same damn text of "do you still remember me?" ...girl....he remembers.....the ending should've been she was so glad that he still remembered her.... but totk story makes NO DAMN SENSE not only does it retconn the Rito tribe where they were more formed around the great sea era and weren't around 10k+ years ago, and should've used a child of the forest like they had for previous games for a sage, since Makar was literally the sage of wind, which should've been the fact in this game since it feels like lazy writing. or just confirmed when ganon merged timelines, he made "The Wilds" timeline truly the REAL ONLY timeline while the other games played before, are now just legend and tales since I know Nintendo never wanted a real timeline with them. that they wanted every game to literally be it's own without a timeline and only made the timeline to shut up fans. so literally The Wilds since Skyward Sword can actually be the very first, since it introduces Demise, and THEN the era with King and Queen since it wasn't really known if Zelda in Skyward Sword even started hyrule and she def. was no princess. She was just Hylia reborn as a mortal to end the war. which was seemingly the first war with Demise. then the imprisoning war with the Zonia must've came afterwards. though if merged all timelines (like an epicenter, all stories had to exist first even if they don't exist in the end) scenerio where they no longer really hold value and are only there for reference. especially since demise never needed the triforce, instead even this ganon only stole a secret stone to become powerful being truly the real demise reborn which could explain him being put away while other ganons born in gerudo had the triforce of power that made him seem like a demon but could be killed just to be reborn 100 years later and explains why they're weaker then this one. but there are no true sacrifices in TOTK oh you lost your arm and I had to give you this new one because it was beyond repair nvm fam you got your arm back it's all good, I'll just take my old arm back, thanks for helping! I will become a dragon in order to restore the master sword to give to link even if there is no way to become human again and will be lost oh nvm I've come back through the power of the sage of spirit and rauru and what not it's okay I'm good now!! what exactly is the sacrifice? Even adventure time did it beter where there were consequences true ones, to where finn lost his arm and it remained lost and had it replaced and it remained replaced. there is no sacrifice or problems if every little thing you tried to seem dour with, with something that's like "omg you really can't do this" only for it to be like nah fam I'm good. we're all happy in the end. honestly I can think of two better endings. which you people can tell me if you like them better. first one i thought of is that Zelda just sadly stays a Dragon but has one final moment to talk to link. saying that she's happy she was able to do her part, and that she will be the protector and watcher of the land. making LINK the new king as they swap places. Now this isn't out of just because either, because in BOTW and TOTK it shows that link is now more expressive, but he also cares. He goes out of his way to make the people happy and even help fix towns and build them up and restore kingdoms back to normal and make peace with each place which every kingdom seems to enjoy links company. making for great allyship. to where once upon a time he was a silent Knight just being by the princesses side because he believed talking only complicated things along with his opinion, to finally becoming an open minded non selfish Knight who would please people who he didn't need to even please at all! Giving back to his people. and would be peotic because he had THE FIRST KINGS ARM! making it go full circle. Making Zelda also finally grow as a character understanding the sacrifices she has to do, and give and now can protect her people in another way. which could be the real thing behind "tears of the kingdom" since they in a sense lost their princess. and it ends with Link looking at Hyrule castle of what his next steps to be with everyone by his side. there are no tears to give if there are no loses. second idea would be, almost like how Rauru imprisoned ganon the first time but also adding in like what happened in Wind Waker, having Link in final moments use his master sword and the power given to seal them BOTH in stone giving the ultimate sacrifice. To where even Mineru destroys the top of Hyrule castle by sending down the temple of time (seeing how they're in the same area as each other anyway) saying that no one should ever go in or tamper with the temple or the statue, or it risks DEMISE/Ganon coming back. Leaving it as a momento of the deed that Link took to save everyone. Truly making it a tearful thing for everyone knowing they "lost" their princess and now their only Knight and for most good friend. But for the sake and safety of everyone for a huge sacrifice. How do you even call it tears of the kingdom if the kingdom shares no tears? that there's nothing to cry over besides the light dragon aka zelda...just leaving tears behind.....when you hear the words tears of the kingdom you would believe that the kingdom weeps in the end due to something. and I'm sure many of you could even take these ideas and expand upon them what saddens me, is that Japan lost it's touch or at least Nintendo did on story telling and taking risks. in past games there is growth there is sacrifice. Wind Waker you cannot save the King and he allows himself to be drowned forever under hyrule in OoT you risk your childhood to save everyone to grow up so fast and even Zelda blames herself for that in MM people literally died and you took that responsibility to help them right the wrongs and fix the problems and learn to grow from it or you risk literally the moon killing everyone. there was growth there was feeling here it's bad enough when finding the tears it's out of order. so you can accidentally watch the queen die second scene and go well damn but now all other scenes are meaningless and you have no attachment because you know what will be. I can't feel for character's when you know of what will be. wil say when you need a MOD to make the game replayable and enjoyable and actually make sense because his body was so beyond repair he had to have a new one, sacrificing your old body that was beyond repair to save everyone, and making some sense as to why people forgot about you; you didn't tell the story right..... games with great story and great premise and enjoyable are the best kind. unfortnately I had this convo with my friend where he says Nintendo doesn't care as long as it makes money sales that's all that there is to it. and I've seen so many leave the fandom due to it. will say if this is how their story telling is especially when a master sword the over powered weapon, when at first makes sense 100 years go by in botw making it literally heal itself from nothing. that it's still gaining it's power. but in totk where it's 10K PLUS years, drenched in sacred light................still runs out of damn batteries....thanks I didn't need the master sword chargable....like a damn phone......which I call bs, if it takes 100 years for it to heal itself, now imagine 10K plus years bathed in Sacred light after being told for a very very very long time it only becomes stronger, well bs cause its still one of the weaker weapons in game...... if this is how their games will be where there's no growth and no sacrifices and actual good emotion....I don't think i want to spend 70$ on a game that has no good conclusions.....even if it's heart tugging. and I will say this I will NOT be replaying TOTK when I'm done with it fully.
In my opinion, this mod would make for a unique change if the text of NPCs were also changed to allude to Link’s new Zonai appearance.

With this mod the heroes aspect mod is like a 4th dragon armor for the light dragon.

Except whereas you can find statues in the Depths of ancient Gerudo, Gorons, Rito and Zora near where you'd usually find those races living on the Surface, these other statues occupy a central location beneath both the Great Plateau and Hyrule Field, implying *those* were their primary lands, at least in the Depths. And yet these areas, too, are filled with Zonai ruins and Zonai technology. And how many verified Zonai have we actually seen? Two, and they're brother and sister. It's entirely possible the Zonai came in a greater variety of appearance in the past, and we don't know what all of these two Zonais' direct ancestors looked like, either. Do we even know that Rauru and Mineru are *themselves* pure-blooded Zonai? They might've already had have some Hylian ancestors, as it's implied the Zonai had a good long period of settlement on the Surface before there were eventually only two left, and a tail or digitigrade feet may be recessive traits. There's just still so much we don't know about the Zonai because the game has still shown us so little of them beyond just two unambiguously confirmed individuals.

Here's my opinion the ancient heroes aspect happens to be more like another zona family tree that was served the original royal family when rohru was around or maybe later.

the tail does make sense
Link looks digitigrade in the ancient' form, and for a digitigrade race a tail is crucial for balance
but the zonai looks plantigrade so a tail would be a redundant extra
that said, I did like the look of the tail on him, I mean, canonical or not, it didn't look out of place (plantigrade species can have tails, they just serve less purpose)
but that aside, I see so many great mods that actually enhance the game well, does anyone know where to look for the emulator?

@@Wot477 You know machine code, 0s and 1s? Your hard drive is full of them. Cosmic radiation can flip them sometimes, and it just so happened to flip them in exactly the right way to produce an exact copy of Tears of the Kingdom :)

Just a neat headcannon I have, but what if the reason Link doesn't have horns as a zonai is because he's young and only older Zonai grow them? If Link were to stay like this for a long time then horns would start to grow. Idk if that'd be possible to add to the mod unless it was tied to how many hearts you have. At three hearts you'd have no horns and at full health you have full fledged horns. Idk, just a idea

I do. But the reason the creator privated the mod is because Nintendo have been DMCA’ing Zelda mods all over Gamebanana. I don’t think it would be smart for me to distribute the mod as I don’t want to get in trouble by Nintendo and potentially have my channel taken down.

I was personally always alright with the tail mostly because everybody kept calling them goats wich would have been fine if asian dragons werent't based on deer and camels
to me the tailed zonai made them obviously more "dragon born like" wich i remember the rule being dragonborn gets either the tail wings or breath of a dragon but never all three

the one thing I do miss in zelda games since even botw, the story is mid.......and there's really no sense of danger or rush and no sense of real sacrifice. at least I can say in botw yes zedla sacrificed 100 years of her life to contain ganon and you try to at least get your memories......ONLY FOR even if you collect every memory or play in the champion ballad she still has the same damn text of "do you still remember me?" ...girl....he remembers.....the ending should've been she was so glad that he still remembered her....
but totk story makes NO DAMN SENSE
not only does it retconn the Rito tribe where they were more formed around the great sea era and weren't around 10k+ years ago, and should've used a child of the forest like they had for previous games for a sage, since Makar was literally the sage of wind, which should've been the fact in this game since it feels like lazy writing. or just confirmed when ganon merged timelines, he made "The Wilds" timeline truly the REAL ONLY timeline while the other games played before, are now just legend and tales since I know Nintendo never wanted a real timeline with them. that they wanted every game to literally be it's own without a timeline and only made the timeline to shut up fans. so literally The Wilds since Skyward Sword can actually be the very first, since it introduces Demise, and THEN the era with King and Queen since it wasn't really known if Zelda in Skyward Sword even started hyrule and she def. was no princess. She was just Hylia reborn as a mortal to end the war. which was seemingly the first war with Demise. then the imprisoning war with the Zonia must've came afterwards. though if merged all timelines (like an epicenter, all stories had to exist first even if they don't exist in the end) scenerio where they no longer really hold value and are only there for reference.
especially since demise never needed the triforce, instead even this ganon only stole a secret stone to become powerful being truly the real demise reborn which could explain him being put away while other ganons born in gerudo had the triforce of power that made him seem like a demon but could be killed just to be reborn 100 years later and explains why they're weaker then this one.
but there are no true sacrifices in TOTK

what exactly is the sacrifice? Even adventure time did it beter where there were consequences true ones, to where finn lost his arm and it remained lost and had it replaced and it remained replaced. there is no sacrifice or problems if every little thing you tried to seem dour with, with something that's like "omg you really can't do this" only for it to be like nah fam I'm good. we're all happy in the end.
honestly I can think of two better endings. which you people can tell me if you like them better.
first one i thought of is that Zelda just sadly stays a Dragon but has one final moment to talk to link. saying that she's happy she was able to do her part, and that she will be the protector and watcher of the land. making LINK the new king as they swap places.
Now this isn't out of just because either, because in BOTW and TOTK it shows that link is now more expressive, but he also cares. He goes out of his way to make the people happy and even help fix towns and build them up and restore kingdoms back to normal and make peace with each place which every kingdom seems to enjoy links company. making for great allyship. to where once upon a time he was a silent Knight just being by the princesses side because he believed talking only complicated things along with his opinion, to finally becoming an open minded non selfish Knight who would please people who he didn't need to even please at all! Giving back to his people. and would be peotic because he had THE FIRST KINGS ARM! making it go full circle. Making Zelda also finally grow as a character understanding the sacrifices she has to do, and give and now can protect her people in another way. which could be the real thing behind "tears of the kingdom" since they in a sense lost their princess.
and it ends with Link looking at Hyrule castle of what his next steps to be with everyone by his side.
there are no tears to give if there are no loses.
second idea would be,
almost like how Rauru imprisoned ganon the first time but also adding in like what happened in Wind Waker, having Link in final moments use his master sword and the power given to seal them BOTH in stone giving the ultimate sacrifice. To where even Mineru destroys the top of Hyrule castle by sending down the temple of time (seeing how they're in the same area as each other anyway) saying that no one should ever go in or tamper with the temple or the statue, or it risks DEMISE/Ganon coming back. Leaving it as a momento of the deed that Link took to save everyone.
Truly making it a tearful thing for everyone knowing they "lost" their princess and now their only Knight and for most good friend. But for the sake and safety of everyone for a huge sacrifice.
How do you even call it tears of the kingdom if the kingdom shares no tears? that there's nothing to cry over besides the light dragon aka zelda...just leaving tears behind.....when you hear the words tears of the kingdom you would believe that the kingdom weeps in the end due to something.
and I'm sure many of you could even take these ideas and expand upon them
what saddens me, is that Japan lost it's touch or at least Nintendo did on story telling and taking risks.
in past games there is growth there is sacrifice. Wind Waker you cannot save the King and he allows himself to be drowned forever under hyrule
in OoT you risk your childhood to save everyone to grow up so fast and even Zelda blames herself for that
in MM people literally died and you took that responsibility to help them right the wrongs and fix the problems and learn to grow from it or you risk literally the moon killing everyone.
there was growth there was feeling
here it's bad enough when finding the tears it's out of order. so you can accidentally watch the queen die second scene and go well damn but now all other scenes are meaningless and you have no attachment because you know what will be. I can't feel for character's when you know of what will be.
wil say when you need a MOD to make the game replayable and enjoyable and actually make sense because his body was so beyond repair he had to have a new one, sacrificing your old body that was beyond repair to save everyone, and making some sense as to why people forgot about you; you didn't tell the story right.....
games with great story and great premise and enjoyable are the best kind.
unfortnately I had this convo with my friend where he says Nintendo doesn't care as long as it makes money sales that's all that there is to it. and I've seen so many leave the fandom due to it.
will say if this is how their story telling is especially when a master sword the over powered weapon, when at first makes sense 100 years go by in botw making it literally heal itself from nothing. that it's still gaining it's power.
but in totk where it's 10K PLUS years, drenched in sacred light................still runs out of damn batteries....thanks I didn't need the master sword chargable....like a damn phone......which I call bs, if it takes 100 years for it to heal itself, now imagine 10K plus years bathed in Sacred light after being told for a very very very long time it only becomes stronger, well bs cause its still one of the weaker weapons in game......
if this is how their games will be where there's no growth and no sacrifices and actual good emotion....I don't think i want to spend 70$ on a game that has no good conclusions.....even if it's heart tugging. and I will say this I will NOT be replaying TOTK when I'm done with it fully.
