    Woaw. The Meze 99 cost 300 and sound like 150 headphones. My biggest disappointment last year. Just try the Fiio FT1. They cost 150 and sound like 300 headphones (at least).

      If everyone would enjoy the exact same headphones, it would get kinda boring fast! I was and still am really impressed with the meze's. Haven't heard anything about those Fiio FT1's, but I'll check them out to see what they have to offer :)

    Had a pair of SR60i for a long time and needless to say I won't be back to Grado anytime soon..not because of the sound or fit... it's because I hate that cable with a passion and the fact the cups rotate freely made me lose my mind sometimes...

    Fantastic video, great knowledge but I have to disagree with you on gaming with the Grados. I have the Grado SR80x (bigger brother of the SR60x) and I use it for everything, including gaming (mostly Overwatch and F1) and trust me, the open back design makes hearing enemy footsteps so much easier and in turn, makes me more aware of where they are. Would 100% recommend the Grados to anyone, maybe not as a first pair of headphones but as a second or third pair if you're looking for something niche and unique (as said in the video) :)

    • @Technificantly

    The SR60X/Meze 99 combo is an absolute banger to get started with higher quality audio. The profiles are so different and it really lets you get a sense of what you'd probably like when you're ready to splurge (but let's be real, you're probably going for the more expensive Meze's lol). I'm rocking the Neos and they'd be a daily driver if I didn't have the 60x's tethered to my work station.

  • @yamum_hunter34
    @yamum_hunter34 Місяць тому

    I dare anyone to look at the soundcore space one frequency response graph (how loud each frequency is) and think it's good sound quality. The bass is 15 db higher than neutral, the lower mids are 10 db lower than neutral, there are multiple peaks at 1.6k, 4k and 10k (perfect for a sharp and sibilant listening experience), the only good things about this headphone is the anc, the build and comfort.
    Grado sr60x, are not a good headphone for the price, the build is garbage (like a 1950s headphone), and the sound is ok, up to 2k, where you have a 10db peak. Then the treble is an absolute mess... it's only really good for things like movies asmr (incredible sense of closeness and detail due to the 2k peak and treble sparkle).
    The momentum 4 are ok I guess (could have better clarity, become decent with eq).
    And the 99 classics have incredible comfort and design, but their overall sound is just too warm and bloated...
    I would like to say that I have tried all these headphones (and personaly own the sr60 and momentum 4), and that none of them are a good recomendation. I'm not saying that this video is bad, but it would be better to do more research before giving recomendation to people who have no idea about sound. there are a lot of better options, like the fiio ft1 or akg k361 instead of the meze 99 classics...
    Finally, there is of course personal preference, although, there are still preference bounds, and targets that can be achieved, like the harman target, diffuse field jm1 (for iems)... And at the end of the day, I don't think anyone can say they prefer a space one instead of a susvara.
    This isn't against you by itself, as you probably bought the space ones because of a tech youtuber (probably sponsored by soundcore), the meze 99 and the grados because of dankpods. You should just make your own reasearch, and listen to a lot more headphones before recommending whatever you have to people on the internet.
    I'm taking this way to seriously, I had a bad day. At the end of the day, you enjoy what you enjoy untill you know better, and then decide to spend your life savings on it.

    • @Technificantly
      @Technificantly  Місяць тому +1

      I have to disagree with you on this. The point is, not everyone is a sound engineer or has to dive into all the details about audio. This was a video aimed to help the average consumer make a good choice. Audio is subjective, so it's hard to say that people will 100% pick one headphone over another. For example I love how warm the meze's are, it's what makes them what they are. And for your average consumer, they sound great in my opinion.
      Next to that, it's impossible to try out every single headphone. I mentioned that in the video too. There will always be other brands or models that might still be better. I can only talk about the ones I have tried. I have 100 subs, a 9-5 job and live paycheck to paycheck, I don't have the freedom to try out 100 headphones before I make a video like this.
      I'm also against just blindly following reviews or things I see online. The space ones showed up at the place I worked before I even knew they existed. I bought them just out of curiosity.
      Next to that I feel like that's the fun with this. Having someone like dankpods share a headphone he likes so you get to know them too. I don't see that as a negative, but as a positive. How great is it that you can share a passion with a whole community?
      Obviously criticism or feedback are always welcome, but we're not all audiophile heads. You can be a casual enjoyer too!

  • @theferbd2
    @theferbd2 Місяць тому +1

    Please be careful with videos like this. you are recommending not great headphones, that are poorly built. And are expensive for the money. There are much better options to everything you have mentioned. SR60Xs are an absolute mess of a headphone. The Meze 99 Classics/Neo are mid at best, absolute bass monsters (I actually own a pair). Better alternatives would be something like a pair of Koss' for the grados, they are cheap and sound better in my opinion. And for the Mezes, it would be something like the Fiio FT1.

    • @Technificantly
      @Technificantly  Місяць тому +1

      Well it's personal taste right? I think the headphones I talked about are fun and enjoyable headphones. Of course there will always be 'better' options, but I am unable to test out all of the different brands and models out there. It's my recommendation and some people will love it, some will hate it. I'm very open to try other options too and this list will probably change throughout the years. But for now this is what I am enjoying!
      Edit: it also depends on what you are looking for in a headphone.
