I mean it's slightly untrue. They eat with their hands because they are poor af. The Muslim middle east invented forks for the exact reason so that they will eat slowly and Consciously. Using a fork is much slower then your hands for very obvious reasons. Infact when a Muslim went to Europe for some big celebration. The Muslim was mocked by the Europeans for using a fork, saying 'god gave us forks. They are the fingers on our hands.'
There is some people Idk but nothing is good about it, as an arabian and a Muslim, eating with tools is much better...and cleaner..i would even eat the sandwiches, burgers, potatoes fingers with a knife and a fork !!

Rules to it. Short nails(clipped on Mondays or fridays) Eat with three fingers. Right hand only. You can only pick from the closest to you. Edit: Clip whenever needed, but Mondays or* Fridays were noted to be best of the days to do so. Eating with three fingers, yeah don't go smearing your whole hand, example: most fingerfood and dips you only need three fingers max. I mean it's slightly untrue. They eat with their hands because they are poor af. The Muslim middle east invented forks for the exact reason so that they will eat slowly and Consciously. I grew up eating with my hand. The one reason why I prefer that way is
1. It is easier
2. More accessible
3. You don't have to wash the utensils
And here in south east asia, most of the food is warped in an oil paper or leaves so you can just eat and throw the plate away too after eating. No more washing dishes lol
Not to mention you can tell how hot the food is before it burns your mouf
1. It's definitely not easier trying to eat rice with your hands. Spoon is better option, and I've been a practicing Muslim for the past 11 years. There are some foods you just can't eat with your hands because it gets too messy and frustrating. I'm a slow eater even with silverware, so without it I'd be ridiculously slow.
Eating a sandwich with your hands is easier, but eating rice with hands is not.

Eat with three fingers.
Right hand only.
You can only pick from the closest to you.
Edit:
Clip whenever needed, but Mondays or* Fridays were noted to be best of the days to do so.
Eating with three fingers, yeah don't go smearing your whole hand, example: most fingerfood and dips you only need three fingers max.
All of these are table manners, and considered common sense even, you can't just eat the food however and expect acceptance and tolerance.
Some people can not sit with you on the same table if you chew loudly, slurp or have long nails.
