747 are excellent for the haulers full load runs. new york chi, san fran, hawaii japan . theyre not supposed to go to smaller airports. that would be like commuting with 6 people in a school bus.
thanks boeing i just drooled all over my keyboard wishing i was there at that airshow so much heavy metal to enjoy :) cant wait to see her fly in person wonder if delta might eyeball this one but me thinks the 777's they have are working for them wouldnt mind seeing one in american airlines chrome tho ^_^
@littlechickification I just wish they would change how they actually measure leg room in these plans. Having the seat slide forward while you recline reduces the leg room so much... I'm average height at 6 feet and my knees are against the back rest of the seat in front if they recline...
Great news!! To bad you won't really be showcasing it to the public on the Paris air show public days! I was really looking forward to seeing this and the freighter and then heard they were leaving on Tuesday!!! I'm really disappointed being a 747-400 pilot that I(and the people who will fly onboard this great aircraft) won't be able to see the -8i or -8F in public!
@Porcelanesa: Anglophones call it “Paris Air Show”, that’s all. If you want to get that specific, its called « Salon international de l'aéronautique et de l'espace, Paris-Le Bourget » or « Salon du Bourget » for short. « Le Bourget » is like a borough north of the City of Paris.
@KATAERO1 both are good planes.depends what your needs are.the a-380 can get up to over 800 passengers.i would not go into crashes if i where you.boing does not have a great record on that either.lets just say both companies make good aircraft.
@rkim1993 lol..its not hallmark......those letters are G.E [general electric].when it comes to engines for jets, fighter jets,airplanes...G.E[U.S] and Rolls Royce[U.K] make the engines.
@ARMATURISTA Its better then the 747-400, like she said. It carries more passengers, more fuel efficient, new flight control computer etc..The 747-8 is basically a new generation 747 just like the A330 is a new gen A300 and the 737-800 and 900's are new gens of the classic 737's.
I appreciate the technological feats in fuel economy and sheer size of the aircraft, but I really think they are missing the mark in what travelers are going to demand in the not-too-distant future. Places all around the world that have seen so few visitors are opening up and new markets all over the world are diversifying and multiplying. It would seem we need smaller capacity, more frequent connections, not gigantic, less frequent ones. Am I way off?
Without a doubt, if Boeing decides to make a -900 version of the plane, with new technology thay can build a full two-story aircraft that beats the A380 in all categories.
Why don't they stop fulling around with the 747 and double deck the hole thing rather than just half of it, so it will give the A380 a run for its money???
Not going to happen, I believe that plane has been repainted and entered service with Lufthansa. Qantas on the other hand has tied itself to Airbus with the A380, although the dispatch reliability of the A380 is worse than the 20 year old 747's in their fleet and, the rib feet issue in the wings is still a major problem requiring lots more maintenance hours. Qantas should have got the 777 and the 747-8 to replace their old 744 fleet instead of flirting with an untested and problem plagued A380
Elizabeth, you are very rude. Be respectful of your hosts. Saying "It's like nothing else around here." And "It's really the only brand new product being displayed here" You make it seem that the other aircraft are inferior, they may be, but you have no class when you point that out. Provide details and let the aircraft speak for itself, and don't disrespect the other exhibitors. Be professional.
Nice plane. Was nice until A380. Now it looks old (especially to Airbus), and it is old no matter what Boeing saying "new airplane". New in what? - construction? ..or conception? ..or avionic? ...or economic efficient?... or capacity? ...is it better than what - the previous 747 models or than A380? Is it easier and more friendly for the crew or maintenance than Airbus? I don't think so, regarding to my personal experience maintaining all of the Boeing and Airbus family. It's time for a changes
the americans are jealous cuz they finally got something .... but this air plane is in no way better than a380 SEARCH IN GOOGLE .... EMIRATES A380 FIRST CLASS ....see for yourself
+csabavezer80 Europe Engineering rules?? It only took "Europe" 37 years after the 747 debuted to build something bigger. So far, 170 have been built. There have been 1,500+ 747's produced so far and it's still in production. Also, Boeing looked very hard at building a much bigger aircraft and their customers didn't want one. They wanted a long haul, medium sized aircraft that is easy to service and fuel efficient. That's why Boeing developed the 787 Dreamliner. We'll see who was right, Airbus or Boeing. My money's on Boeing.
After WW II US took the Europe`s best engineers(look Germany`s infrastructures before war) so it was more easy to surpass in any direction the old continent, they won more money for developing, infrastructures etc... but it is look that Europe will surpass again, if another WW not will stop, think again what you write boy,and learn history.
anyone whos ever worked on boeings and airbus's know how much more solid the boeings are. its nice to see the queen still has it !
i like the a 380, but this is more iconic, classic and elegant
Gorgeous airplane!
I love 747-8i
love the new 747-8, better than the A380
I can't help but have the feeling they should have created a whole new model
the most beautiful jetliner around
just wondering...are the windows as large and feature the electric dimming like on the 787?
The windows are larger but not to the size on the 787, but still a 12 percent larger (or was it 18?)
747 are excellent for the haulers full load runs. new york chi, san fran, hawaii japan . theyre not supposed to go to smaller airports. that would be like commuting with 6 people in a school bus.
I Like 747 than 380 :)))

Should you add a new T-Tail commercial aircraft with the same body of a 727 and 737?
@101u I don't know... I still say the P51 Mustang is the sexiest air craft ever created. Then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
love the new boeing 747-8!!
So when does the plane come out cus I want to ride that plane to japan.
wheres the flames and racing strip?
@dogfight001 AHEM It'd be VC-25B. But +1 for it. Great contender for the position. Boeing 787 to replace C-32?
Amazing.
Great news!!

Boeing may be right after all, not to build the double-decker like A-380, which keeps running into buildings and other aircrafts while taxiing.
I got to fly this plane last week... in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Bring it to Farnborough Intl airshow 2014 please? Why wasn't it at the 2012 Farnborough airshow?
BEAUTIFUL!
That is so cute.
what a beautiful bird, i wish she cld beat the A380 on seating capacity
Yes, but ... will it blend ?
I gotta get to one of these Le Bourget airshows someday.
Go USA....that's what Boeing is all about!
@Porcelanesa: Anglophones call it “Paris Air Show”, that’s all.

the narrator snraked in about 15 compliments.
@Sooksawaspakdee961 That would explain why no airlines have cancelled orders, and some have even increased their orders once it had entered service.
its a huge one
@Aolaris AIrbus knows its there planes cause for almost every single airbus crash they say pilot error pilot error
That old thing is looking pretty cool...
I will bring my old beetle to West Coast Customs and it will look brand new...
Awesome!
@KATAERO1 both are good planes.depends what your needs are.the a-380 can get up to over 800 passengers.i would not go into crashes if i where you.boing does not have a great record on that either.lets just say both companies make good aircraft.

Has anyone else noticed that the engine is made by Hallmark?
@rkim1993 lol..its not hallmark......those letters are G.E [general electric].when it comes to engines for jets, fighter jets,airplanes...G.E[U.S] and Rolls Royce[U.K] make the engines.
AirBus A380 is greatest, largest and sexiest in the world
Yea. What's the gas tank size?
That's what I thought.
@spreilly481935 Oh and also we need a KC-25 and EP-25 of this Aircraft. I agree that the C-32 will be replaced by 787 version of the type.
NICE
Nice.
Definitly better than the a380!!! boeing rules!!!! :)
@Allomities its cheaper to build, fuel, crew, and maintain one airplane that holds 300 people than two that hold 150 people.
Yup, This is the way its supossed to be done, not fighting Wars for Control over Minerals... -Cugh, Cugh- Oil, US.
Beautiful. :)
@NoneNameAvailable Because it replaces the Airbus A380 which crashed at this Paris Air Show!
@ARMATURISTA Its better then the 747-400, like she said. It carries more passengers, more fuel efficient, new flight control computer etc..The 747-8 is basically a new generation 747 just like the A330 is a new gen A300 and the 737-800 and 900's are new gens of the classic 737's.
but the 747 is not a new plane, are they still updating it?
I appreciate the technological feats in fuel economy and sheer size of the aircraft, but I really think they are missing the mark in what travelers are going to demand in the not-too-distant future. Places all around the world that have seen so few visitors are opening up and new markets all over the world are diversifying and multiplying. lol at 0:37 i thought it was actually the guy talking
WELCOME TO THEE FUUUTUREEEEE!
I want to be an engineer for Boeing.
Hope the 747 will fly, cause we must not expect a lot from Airbus, the A400m is not going to fly as well as the A380
Airbus gonna hate.
Go Boeing! Airbus just got owned when their wing clipped a building lol...
Thats what I am feeling for the 737 family not the 747.
@1:38 Are you threaten us? lol
Nice bird though..
Why don't they stop fulling around with the 747 and double deck the hole thing rather than just half of it, so it will give the A380 a run for its money???
@vietman90210 Probably not. All the videos I've seen and what I read, they never said anything about it. So I think they're still the same.
It's funny people say they should have created a whole new design but if you guys think of it Airbus will do the same with it's a320 a380
@coinageboy It's also too big to serve more than about ten airports worldwide.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Big
@Boeing MAKE A VC-747-8I PRESIDENTIAL AIRCRAFT! Any objections?
@lanterom The A380 can serve what, five airports worldwide? Try again.
I just looked up the Airbus A380, they had to withdraw from this airshow because the wing broke, lol.
and why is this plane so important?
Can you say "Flying Cattle Car?"
@AflacsGotchaBack24 i caught that to
Compensating for anything, Boeing?
new colors
"This plane with it's Vibrant Colors and...AHHH!" "Tom it appears one of the engineers has been sucked up by the plane's massive engine."
Love the aircraft but those execs, perky and dour, give me a cramp.
Get the freighter on.
i'm sure this one is not gonna make into kost of india airports!!!!

so basically they used random people to test the airplane....
"There was definitely some excitement in the air." HA! ITS FUNNY CAUSE HE WAS FLYING A PLANE AND THEREFORE WAS IN THE AIR AND...okay, ill shutup now.
The woman at 0:28 is so full of crap lol! every plane is like that on their first times.
Great aeroplane. But comedy voiceover.

BOACMach2 was the fat guy crying on the apron when the 747-8 showed up in Paris
sexy
the americans are jealous cuz they finally got something .... but this air plane is in no way better than a380

Orin's roy
Nice plane, just was renewed from old design, but never beat A 380! sorry Boeing.Europe engineering rules
Llki toccy bhhn🎓🎓🎓🎓njkllmmhxgoy.

At least it doesn't look like a fat and lazy whale.
im sorry but the biggest airplane is airbus A380
