- Welcome to the video!
This is an easy DIY project making miniature arts & crafts smocks for display in small scale scenes, dollhouses & schools, classrooms, art rooms, stores or clothing examples for 1:12 doll costumes.
The video shows the smock made by cutting & gluing fabric pattern pieces from a thin cotton or similar material from a 6 x 4” piece or so and trimming & adding arts & crafts accessories.
The smock measures about 2 1/4” length x 1 3/4 width. It is designed to slip over head, but can be modified by cutting back in half to slide arms, torso & head in. Then secure or close with sewing thread & needle or glue.
Materials & suggested items for project:
[1] fabric - 6 x 4” piece, thin cotton (press with iron if needed)
[2] embroidery floss - red, yellow, blue, green, orange, brown, black, pink, white, grey, purple, silver, etc for trimming, crayons, pencil, paintbrushes
[3] buttons - tiny sewing embellishment-novelty for crafts, sewing, scrapbooking, card making; in scissors, pencil, crayons, ruler, paintbrushes, etc shapes (remove back thread hole) located in craft sections of stores & online - search for ‘button embellishments for crafts school theme’ I use a scissor piece.
[4] small clamps or sewing pins
[5] ribbon or thin yarn for trimmings if not using braided embroidery thread
[6] ruler, pencil & paper for pattern template & pocket decorations
[7] glue - PVA clear dry, like Aleen’s original tacky glue or others, matte sealer
[8] containers to hold glue or paints, like a bottle cap
[9] scissors
[10] tweezers
[11] toothpicks
[12] punches - small for pocket designs in various shapes like star, sun, moon, hand, etc
[13] permanent markers & acrylic paints & paintbrushes
Accessories: hangers purchased or make (see a prior video), dolls or action figures to display the smocks (adjust pattern as needed to fit)

Beautiful!
Very cute! I like your brightly colored bottle caps. I have a collection of those, too. Hundreds of them, lol.
