Every time I see one of these tests, the results are different every time.
The reason for that because everyone dose different settings
And everytime you don't end up with a definitive answer..
LITERALLY I SAW ONE WHERE THE 13 MINI LASTED 8 hours! But keep in mind it does vary between users
Depending on brightness, cellular data usage, wifi version etc.

Nobody else has made a compact 5G flagship with this level of performance and camera quality and battery life. Amazing for a lot of people I know who want an amazing experience but in an ergonomic package.

13 has 800 nits of brightness, 13 pro has 1000. setting the bar to the same percentage yields higher nits of brightness on the 13 pro, thus making it use more battery.

@@DariusKracht I think your calibration is a bit off man, when you show the phones the 13 pro slider looks a bit higher than the 13, since the 13 pro has higher brightness capacity it’s definitely a bit off, great video nonetheless
@@DariusKracht or it may be apple is weird and the sliders aren’t consistent, thanks for the video! Could also be that on the pro the 120hz was utilized more than other videos!

Love these battery drain tests.
The day we have phone that never needs charging ile be 6ft under what you think manafacture are just gonna give you a phone that can last for 10 years charge lol in your dreams maybe a week full charge would be nice week charge no matter what you do the battery will last for a week
How fascinating, I thought the 120 Hz would have more of a negative impact on the battery lives of the pro models. I can't wait to see them running against the 120Hz android or xiaomi equivalents. Excellent video!
No pro motion can also run on 30hz or lower while the other phones always run on 60hz. That’s why pro motion doesn’t really take more battery. Unless of course you make it run a while on 120hz, like in this test.
if u only watch youtube or smth the 13 pro will outlast the 13 easily
Not sure if it’s fair cuz as far as I know 120htz ability hasn’t been released to developers yet so not all apps are running 120hz

ProMotion is a actually variable refresh rate, which allows it to save battery compared to something fixed at 60Hz. Yes, it can go to 120Hz, but it can also go to 10Hz for looking at photos or 30Hz for looking at videos. It is probably not the reason for the 13 Pro's reduced battery life compared to the 13. It is likely the increased RAM that is has, that just requires a tiny bit more battery to keep it going. It's a very small difference, but it is the same in the case of iPhone 12 Pro vs 12 (neither which have Promotion or 120Hz displays).
The 13 has a 200 mah bigger battery than 13 pro. Still can't understand why did apple do this
I'm curious how the 11 pro max performs compared to the new iphones since it was the previous battery champion, I haven't seen any tech channels include it yet.

Unfortunately I don't have one otherwise I would have definitely included it in the test
If you look at The Tech Chap’s reviews he covers it, the 11PM is better than the 12PM but the 13PM is the new champ. It’s hard to test as the 11PM was discontinued over a year ago, so any models out there have a 1 year old battery, or any reviews when new would have a focus on 2 year old software from 2019 and not a fair comparison to things right now.
You know the battery capacity of 11 pro max so you can compare with now and previous
I’m testing this now. It seems on WiFi I’m getting 14 hrs screen on. However, 5g lte is impacted it pretty bad and get 10 hrs or so so about same as 11 pro max when you use 5g. I’m going to disable 5g lte and see if it helps
I’ve searched all videos about battery test on the 13 series compare with 12 series every single day since the 13 series released and finally here u go! Pretty impressive with the ip 13 promax’s battery this year! I got 12promax, and ready to upgrade now. Tks so much! Hope u gonna get more subs 👍
You should’ve tested the 12 Pro. It was notorious for having the worst battery life of that generation.
How did iPhone 12 last only 6.44 hours in this test but over 9 hours in your test from 10 months ago?
The battery has degraded over 10 months of use. Happens to all phone batteries
The batter was at 97% health. Plus, did he do the exact same things for the exact same times on the 12 for this test as he did 10 months ago?

It is only matter while gaming .But camera wise it is best in market
12 pro and pro max have 6gb ram (not 4). Only difference in the chips is in the 13 pros you have 5 gpu cores vs 4 before.

Thank you sir. Great video! This is what I was looking for. I have 11 with around 86% battery health and was wondering how the 13 mini compares to when my 11 was new. Good to know it should be even better than when my 11 was new. I prefer a smaller form factor but was concerned with battery life sacrifice. My biggest day one complaint with 11 is the size and weight, otherwise great phone. But in 2019 I didn’t know Apple was going to bring back the 5 size or I would have waited.

12 Pro Max has 6GB of RAM not 4GB
If I could suggest you something, it’d be to write the number of hours each model held below as they turn off. It would give us a better idea. The video is great though

The iPhone 13 Pro died sooner because it has a smaller battery capacity. Most of the time it’s running at 10Hz - 60Hz, it only goes to 120Hz when the higher refresh rate is actually necessary. If your tests had less motion, it’s likely that the iPhone 13 Pro would actually outlast the iPhone 13.

Meaning to say if I keep on gaming for lets say till the battery dies, ip13 will be better for me as it will only be capped at 60hz while ip13p may go up to 120hz thus consuming more battery?

I have no problem with the battery life of the iPhone 12 so with the 13 mini’s battery life comparable to the 12, it will be a pre good mini phone

The fact that 120hz was implemented, coupled with slightly more screen re estate.. yet the battery life was increased by THIS MUCH… that’s innovation by my definition !

the battery life is beast i never got a warning of low battery on mine since i got it, i do charge it every night tho. and also it changes all the way down to 10 hz when you aren’t using it (ProMotion) that’s why the battery life is so good bc if it constantly stayed at 120 hz then the battery life would suck

@@bloomtires4020 13 pro haves a longer battery life than 12 pro max i own a 13 pro, and it lasted me over 9 hours for real world test and i was on 120 without low power mode, i had 47% left and i mostly charge it one time for a day
@@444manii according to all the tests on UA-cam the 12 pro max is a bit better in battery life but the main reason for me is the size
I can’t go back to a size smaller than the max so my point is upgrading to 13 pro max is better for 12 pro max users if they want to upgrade 😇

Just got the 13 mini set up. I will never use my phone that hard and have access to chargers throughout my normal day, Time will tell but it’s nice coming from a larger android to one I can casually pocket.

@@thanostsarbos1197 nah, it has really close battery life to the 11 now, due to the apps requiring more power and the a14 being more efficient than the a13. it also has a smaller oled display, which requires less power than the bigger lcd panel of the 11.

I had 8 hrs of on screen time on my 13 pro max with mixture of using social media and youtube videos. With 57% battery still remaining!! Its the most sickkk iPhone battery I ever experienced.
How much brightness level you normally set?
for those asking, the 12 pro max dies when the 13 pro max is at 20% while the 11 pro max at about 15%
Now imagine the pros while low power mode is on which limits power usage AND the 120 hz gets locked to 60
And low brightness that’s means it can last for 2 days w/o a charge
…it’s not locked to 60hz…it’s 60hz adaptive …so much better battery life

I m really happy with my iphone 13 pro Max. Need only to load it every second day. My old daily was a iphone 12 mini, which really sucks, because i had to load it twice a day.
I have the 13 pro max and can confirm the insane battery life. I would have to charger my iPhone xr twice a day usually from how much I used it and this phone last me 2 days because I forget to charge it from how much it has left at the end of the day which is usually above 50%

My usage is mainly for messaging, browsing and reading.
This is my iPhone 13 Pro Max battery consumption :
1. 0.06% per min
2. 0.001% per sec

I really liked the form factor of the mini which scored 6:30~ SOT, how does it translate into day to day usage?
I don't game, I barely take pictures during work and I'm not really into social media beside 9gag... Will the mini take me through the day 07:00am - 18:00pm?
It should get you through the day. My iPhone 12 gets me through a day so if the 13 mini is comparable to the 12 it should.
Same as the previous comment, I also have the iphone 12 and realistically with mainly wifi usage, I get 10 hours of SOT without playing games, just browsing social media at 30-40% brightness. I think the mini has comparable battery life so if small size is a factor for you, I definitely recommend the 13 mini!

did you check the brightness in nits or only set them at the same level because then they are not the same brightness

because of the refresh rate... 155mah more for the vanilla one... that's just not "pro" , you cant always compensate for less resources to the point that you will see actual benefits

@@ntinos2014 the pro has 200 nits brighter than regular 13. If this test is based on 800 nits the pro would last longer than 13 even having smaller battery life, thanks to its promotion.

The iPhone 13 mini has 2406 mAh battery, the iPhone 13 has 3227 mAh battery and the 13 Pro Max has 4352 mAh battery. Rest all others are correct.

Yea Im getting 10-12 hours easy on the 13 pro max with heavy use. And it charges fast you can get a extra 20-30% battery in like 20 mins. This phone is a work horse for sure, you can confidently forget your charger at home and be ok all day.

It's because it's discontinued. The tests only used iPhones still on sale by Apple (except iPhone SE because it sucks on battery life).

If you want accurate and fair battery comparison, set them on the same battery life, not 3 or even 1% difference

I just bought 13 pro max my battery capacity is obv 100 but the battery is draining soo fast and i am not even doing any heavy tasks like my battery is dropping 40%in like 3 hours and i bought the phone just a day before
I remember when people were saying how after Apple add 120hz the battery life will degrade significantly
I got the 12 and the battery is very decent of course it goes down when I play battery draining games but on UA-cam it can last a long time
Hoping for upgrade this year, manifesting it i will back if i get an upgrade :))
