I don't know when this concert was - but it wasn't last year. This clip was posted last year. However, apparently Elaine was still 'hoofing it up' in the Drowsy Chaperone in '07. She's had amazing longevity.
In this respect, Elaine Paige had the great advantage of making her professional debut in her late teens. If 'SuBo' were embarking on a 40 year career now, it would take her through to her late 80s!!
I've seen Elaine Paige live and she has the most incredible voice. Personally I prefer marti Webb who connects better with her audience. Lest we forget Paige is a talented actress & in that respect Boyle can't compete. That said, good luck to Boyle. Let's hope her dream is all it's cracked up to be

I guess I'm going to have to see her live. I've watched many of her performances on video and thought she was quite good but couldn't understand her impressive following. It doesn't seem like she's really enjoying performing. I guess it's in her eyes. I get the same feeling watching Bernadette Peters. BUT ... again ... seeing her live would probably make a world of a difference.
