- Beginning January 1, California will become the first state in the nation to offer health insurance to undocumented immigrants.
Under the expansion, more than 700,000 people between the ages of 26 and 49 now be eligible for Medi-Cal.
Immigrant rights advocates call the expansion of health care for undocumented adults a major milestone in California and sets a precedence for the country.

When you really think about it, it’s ridiculous that health insurance is contingent on employment. The US needs to follow the UK and Europe. They’ve have had healthcare-for-all for decades. I am fully disabled since I was a young child and I'm on SSII was too sick to work and I barely get $692, and rent prices are literally struggling and fighting to stay alive and a very brittle. Diabetic was visually impaired blind on one eye. And they're taking 174 for my SS. I. Also, it's required food. They gave me food stamps and it was barely enough to survive per month. 139 per month. This is hardship and sad to where people are very depressed in America. It's scary situation and what is wrong with this picture? Everybody is fighting to stay alive and they're American. Even native Americans, I'm fully native and can't even get help from my own. Anything? Why is this happening? Why are they allowing it? Why is it peachy king with them? But people here are working even a little better job. Even after 60 years old have to work just to survive and eat and paint some utilities and bills. Lets read the bill before you go we all get ourtraged. They still have to qualify based on income and residency. ie this is not for people who just cross and want a heart transplant. Thats not what this is proposing.
This insurance covers people who have been living and working here in Cali, contributing to our economy now for quite some time. Working illegally they do not get benefits from their employers. They break a finger on the job and never go see a doctor..., They get sick with Flu or Covid and do not seek help. They have kids and dont get them immunized because they are afraid.
This bill is not about luring new illegals in and giving them free stuff.... This is about not letting people who are already contributing to our system suffer in silence because of fear of deportation.

I am so freaking tired of paying for people who are not citizens to receive so many benefits and yet I am struggling to pay for Medicare and all the parts since I am at retirement age, but still work because prices keep going up!!! I had to pay for my children's food, education, medical, etc... This is not right - I AM PISSED! Between these people swimming over here and not going through the correct procedures receiving so much aid and criminals in jails/prison receiving college degrees on my tax dollar, I am waiting for someone to put an end to this racket!!!

Lets read the bill before you go we all get outraged. They still have to qualify based on income and residency. ie this is not for people who just cross and want a heart transplant. Thats not what this is proposing.
This insurance covers people who have been living and working here in Cali since 2014, contributing to our economy now for quite some time. Working illegally they do not get benefits from their employers. They break a finger on the job and never go see a doctor..., They get sick with Flu or Covid and do not seek help. They have kids and dont get them immunized because they are afraid of the costs.
This bill is not about luring new illegals in and giving them free stuff.... This is about not letting people who are already contributing to our system suffer in silence because of fear of costs.
To qualify they have to be low income like every other Californian. and prove they have been living and working here since 2014. They will pay all the same co-pays any other Medi-Cal beneficiary does.

Secondly the beneft for you and I is they get treatment and go back to their work which benefits us all as a whole. Most likely some heavy labor outdoor job most Americans wont work. Yes, it would be great if they could pay into the tax system as well but for them to do so wed have to give them a social security number or at the very least a California Tax ID.

I would like to know how Medi-cal is going to pay for health care. Americans don't have health insurance but illegal immigrants have. A slap in the face for Americans. Americans don't have good medical insurance. Americans need to pay for all the services, including dental. What in the hell? Californians better check your state and Medi-cal. A lawsuit is a must. A friend of mine who is self employed just dropped his health insurance because it was costing him $2,400. a month for him and his wife here in California. This is insane!!
What's crazy is that as an American I can't afford health insurance but here we are giving it away to those who aren't even legal. I was in a house fire and had severe burns across my chest, but couldn't go to the hospital because I didn't have insurance and couldn't afford another medical bill on my credit. Is it possible for me to go to Mexico, say I was born there, cross the border back into America and get these benefits? Serious question.

I follow British politics a lot and their national healthcare system has a wait time of 6 months to get to see a doctor, unless your rich or an illegal immigrant, then you get in right away. Also, the England NHS doctors are going on strike again cause the NHS is broke.
