Did a good job for the step they took in terms of audience, Vince's best performances are when hes sober and standing still like on MTV's music awards when he sang Don't go away mad sober and to his fullest extent... sounded great! With today's stressful times, add Four children, all adults now and two mortgages, one in SoCal CA, and one in Lake Havasu AZ and these videos can bring back memories of a stress free time.
Really?! Because they have said themselves that after this show Tommy was in near tears because they sounded so shitty and he was beyond embarrassed. Sixx couldn’t (and still can’t) play at all, Vince was way off key and had timing problems ( just ask Tom Werman), Tommy was doing his best but that Mick was far and ahead the best & most professional. But don’t take my word, look it up and discover for yourself.
Not true. Motley didn’t really hit their stride until girls girls girls. They were still a very young band with only two albums under their belt. The band’s management and even the band themselves both said they sucked ass in this festival. Their saving Grace here was Mick’s playing and to a lesser degree…Vince‘s ability to work the crowd.
I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about. Vince is a talented singer, the audio was in and out which made the song feel like it was getting paused a little but honestly noticed no problems with his voice! Everyone sounds different live, but I enjoyed this performance

He doesn’t look human playing like he does. I’d cry too if I played with all my might and it was shitty
4:30 one of the best guitar riffs of history
That's about as basic a blues riff as one (not you) can imagine
This sounds like a classic Kiss riff.
Man I love how Vince has so much fun with this performance probably drunk but still having a good time before all the shit happened in his personal life which ruined him really wish the shit he went through never happened losing his little girl to cancer and killing razzle that without a doubt made him a different person he wasn’t the same fun loving guy and it fucked him up sure he made some bad choices but don’t we all?
When we make mistakes or lose someone, the whole world isn't watching and reminding about everything on news and tabloids.
He sure has gone thru hell n' back.
I always thought he was Italian, but I was wrong...🤔🤔🤔🤔
Movie Was Good
1983, seems like not to long ago my sister called and asked if I wanted to go to the festival. She worked at some country radio station in Los angeles, dont remember the name but the station had a promotional tent up and she worked it, she also meet her husband 35 years at the tent.. anyways I was had just turned 18 in April, a month before and my girlfriend who had a rich daddy bought me a Honda MB5 motorcycle (faster than a moped, slower than a real motorcycle, way slower) and me and my childhood buddy rode that bike from San Marino CA to Glen Helen San Bernardino with a sack of humboldt and a whole lot of that young ready to take on the world attitude.....
With today's stressful times, add Four children, all adults now and two mortgages, one in SoCal CA, and one in Lake Havasu AZ and these videos can bring back memories of a stress free time.
i’m only 19 years old so i don’t really get it yet, but man i love hearing stories like this
Vinces tan body love it.Im in love with The Crue. His stomach is to die for.😍😍😍😍
I think I am most surprised by Nikki’s playing here. He was pretty solid throughout the gig.
What a great concert! They really were at their peak here.
One of the best heavy metal concert I have seen. Everybody in these bands plays and sings like Hell! . Beatiful Rock music!!!
I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about. Vince is a talented singer, the audio was in and out which made the song feel like it was getting paused a little but honestly noticed no problems with his voice! Everyone sounds different live, but I enjoyed this performance
You are utterly clueless
Holy s***!! What a video! I love you more and more youtube! Thank you!!
they did it great. they conquered the stage even tho it was a hot day and their first arena performance. even vince sounds cool, he hit the notes and sang all of the lyrics. tommy and mick flawless. nikki's tiny steps in big heels, rocking the bass. i love the guys.
He hit the notes? Are you fucking kidding me? His voice sounds like two cats fucking. He isn't anywhere close to anything anyone would call a decent singer.
@@JokersWild70 do you sing? could you do it any better? if you don't like it then stop wasting your time, we don't need haters.
@@misschief5 I do sing, and I could do it on key even if I was blowing farts out of my ass. This is pathetic. He's never been a good singer at any point in his life. He can't even remember the words to his own songs.
@@JokersWild70 ok, you do sing. but still nothing to do in here, go check the greatest vocalist ever as robert plant or david lee roth. i said we dont need haters.
@@misschief5 Send me a topless photo of yourself and then I'll be happy to leave. :)
15:31 my man Nikki Sixx is going fucking ham with the head bangin! I fucking love that dude. I would give all the money I've ever made and will ever earn just to go back in time and be at this concert. It looks like a type of fun that I can't even imagine.
This is just perfect! The 120F temps are high, the crowd at front gets soaked in water, Vince jumps/spins around like a lunatic, Nikki manages to stay upright in his heels, Tommy is a energy explosion, Mick delivers his tight guitar skills, the fans are joyous, the camera is spot on. Thank you! was the performance sloppy? hell yes, did it matter,. Fuck No, they still rocked it!!
That's exactly the attritude of the 80s... man... I was born in 1972 and nearly all my teenage years were in the 80s.
This is their best live show. Too bad when 'Bastard' comes on, the audio engineering was not on point. It's an underrated yet badass song
No timestamp? I’m disappointed in you
@@cameronjones305 you can see the timestamp in the description my friend
I noticed that.
You don't see crouds like this anymore .
@@stereotype5868 well, you also don't listen to MUSIC LIKE THIS anymore
7:56 mick grabs wammy bar that aint there
I know it was the volume knob I just thought it looked funny
I saw another video of this performance years ago when I was like 9 and always wondered why he did that until I started playing guitar a year later haha
He was rolling down the volume knob. You can see him rolling it back up just before he starts playing again.
Although i completely feel that grabbing the whammy bar when its not there haha
I play guitar and it took me a minute to relize after that that’s what he was doing
Lol nice catch
@@charlies2174 I noticed that too
So nice to be able to watch this concert on youtube in 2022..
Vince was definitely struggling at first during this performance. I think that heat was draining him, along with whatever alcohol they drank beforehand lol. This was such an amazing time in music, the soundtrack of my adolescence. I was born in 1980, and by 1987 I was a die hard fan with my ghetto blaster and Motley Crue tapes my older brother gave me.
4:35 when there about to do the uniform left to right pump, nicki and vince have to run and get in place, mick was born ready, standing there so smoothly haha
7:57 Mick reaches for an inexistant whammy bar.
Lol good eye
Muting the gat
Just love the rawness of this, Crue rocks!
Nicky sixx tottering
around in his heels 😂😂😂
He looks fine as fuck ❤️
He jus be moving around xD
Nikki sixx
🥴
He was so gorge
Saw them in july, the enregy was absolutely awesome, saw a lot of bands in my time, deff one of thr best
Well if running around on stage is energy, in drag, wht the F
I've never seen anything cooler than this!
The Dirt brought me here. I'm into all of their songs now. Shit! They nailed it back in the 80s and the next 20 years. Lol
Welcome to the family
You are a Crüe head now 🖤 welcome 😈
@@vikkr7164 Thanks! I even own a Motely Crue mask and shirt. Lol
Sex drugs and rock n' roll. You'll love it
WELCOME ABOARD 35 YEARS AFTER

7:45 Looks That Kill
14:15 Basterd
17:11 Shout At The Devil
20:47 Merry-Go-Round
24:13 Knock Em Dead Kid
30:46 Piece Of Your Action
37:04 Live Wire
And Helter Skelter at the end!
The best i've seen, they where young and daring and i must say great Tommy Lee being a drummer realy impresses me.
32:34 Mars tortures that guitar. The crowd can feel it’s pain.
I didn't know it at the time , but DAMN, those sure were the good ol days.
This was a rough gig for the boys, and shows how green this band was at the time. Certainly got them much tighter moving forward though. You know when Mick and Tommy make mistakes it is a rough day.
My God this takes me back as a kid 1st discovering the Crue when "Shout" 1st came out & here I am 40 yrs later still a Cruehead!🤘👍
scary 😂 peace ✌️
Love this shxx!! Thank God we have these clips to remind us of a much better time. When we appreciated the simplicity of just being together and having a good time. Jason P.😊😊
I'm in love with Mick mars
Robert Alan Deal
I saw them around this time and Nikki Sixx spent half the concert playing on his knees, either wasted or dope sick. He looks a lot better here.
Mick Mars is really the heart and soul of this band!
Can’t leave out tommy. They were both on point!!
@@Blinginskater ive heard that too, he seems like pretty legit drummer.
Seeing the footage again, I’m so glad I was not anywhere near the first few rows...we were safely way back past the first giant TV screen. It was an epic and fun day!
Vince Neil's hair is every girl's dream that hair is silck
I love this so much, wish I was born then! ❤❤
This was the best Mötley crüe concert I’ve ever been to before it was awesome 🥁🎸🎤🤟🏻
5:13 *Girls in bikini showing* 5 seconds later , *Vince codpiece blows off* lol
🤣🤣
Funny as fuck
😂 he got hard
I was 18 and my friends convinced me to go to this day! loved it. Super hot durring the day but at night it was cold and ground was muddy
Pedazo de concierto!!!! Grande Motley Crue!!!
Si es grande, y lo será siempre como su tercer álbum "Shout At The Devil"
@@hernancacereshc8560 Fue el segundo xd, el tercero es Theatre Of Pain de 1985
Yo los vi el 09/03/2023 en Parque Sarmiento, Bs. As. Argentina.
Mick is awesome playing live
So awesome. I was already a fan back then but I was only 10.
Tommy missed the rim shot trick 37:53. Damn rookie 😂
Love these guys
apparently after this show the manager made vince learn the lyrics better and nikki was forced to get bass lessons. he talks about it on his radio show.
Shout at the devil was such a mess 😂
I was not there. 5 years old and living in Malaysia. Now, at 44, I am happy to listen to this band.
It’s like a magnificent SNL skit. The amount of time it takes Vince to sing actual words once he gets on stage... 😂💀
Vince may not be able to keep up with the tempo, but I promise he still hits those high notes. Just saw them in Cuse and he was out of breath, but he was nailing the high shit every damn time. I was impressed. John 5 was awesome too man, of course he's not Mick, but it was damn cool to see them.
Thanks for the uploads!
Dam. How cool is this. Lol 1983. The crowd was massive . Vince rocked . Motley cure. 🍻
I was there! 37 years ago omg what fun as a youngster! 19 years old
Really? That’s awesome!
@@loveholmstromeckerbom2831 yes sir! One of the many heavy metal concerts I’ve been to. The heat was horrendous. Drunk by the time we got there @ 6am! lol! David Lee Roth held up Van Halen bcuz he was busy in the back doing “whatever” Scorpions were great
I was 20 it was fun but I was really screwed up on speed I had my girl on my shoulders it was awesome 😎
Just saw them live for the first time in El paso Texas on the 8-18-2023 fucking loved it! Only songs I was missing was knock em dead kid, to young to fall in love , and ten seconds to love other then that I had a blast
wow - SOLID performance by the whole CRUE. Tommy Lee is underrated. Wish I coulda been there!
God what I would’ve given to see them in their prime! I have tickets to see them, Poison, Joan Jett and Def Leppard next year
It's not going to happen
@@pepjr100 it is tho
i just started listening to motley crue and they honestly one of my favorite bands of all time
Real rock and roll band. They looks like they really love what they do
Triumph made every band sound like garage bands that day including the headliners VH.
That's the truth.
Triumph sucks shit.
Go home.
Who?
Still kickin' ass after all this mother fxxking years!@! You dudes still rock man!@! Crue forever!@!
Of all the things, one of my most cherished possessions of no real value is their Too Fast For Love cassette, that I begged my mom to buy me and she did. That cassette picture cover is so damn classic. Crue was just so full of 80s testosterone wearing nearly drag costumes, what a great time.
8:49 See, the pros mess up a lot but they cover it up nicely. ;)
I wouldn’t call these guys pro. This is gimmick that wins over talent
Yep. I came here to point that out, and here you are beating me to it.👍
Nice recovery for sure, but they still kinda butchered that song overall lol
1.6 million views man.... this show is such a classic.
27:45 “how you feeling ton-now” bruh Vince was wasted 💀
I believe the coo-caine was on full display on the mirror that day b 4 the show. They were sloppy but, honestly they were very young and this was the a huge show for a bunch of 22 24 yr old guys. I was their and it rocked none the less. Glorious Day Indeed in my life for sure.
When was he not
If anything he probably nervous as all shit 😂
