Just played with my new summit pro LD shaft. Played about 4 hours with it and it felt great and shot great once I refined the tip to my preference. I haven’t shot on a 9’ table yet with it but hope to soon. Also I got the shaft from this site and got it a day early during post covid nonsense. Had questions asked supplier here he was very helpful, nice, great service, and great product. Will update once I play on a 9’ table which should be in the next 2-4 weeks. Highly recommend
I am thinking of buying a summit Ld shaft. I currently shoot with a jos067.I asked a guy on my pool league did it make a difference.he said on cut shots it does, but on straight in shots no.do you agree with that?also,is it hard to get used to shooting with it
Good topic. A lot of people do not understand deflection. That was a very effective demonstration of how to determine how much cue ball deflection there is in a players particular shaft. As for the gentleman that commented about manufacturer's pivot point... You are correct. But it is still possible to determine deflection in the shaft by using the demonstration shown in this video. I have a Jacoby hybrid edge ultra 140 splice 11.75 mm shaft with Kamui soft. Brandon Jacoby told me that my optimal pivot point was 13 inches. But I still play with the bridge length that is most comfortable for me. I'm not sure what the length is but it doesn't matter because I performed the exercise shown here and figured out my cue ball deflection from there.
i upgraded my lucasi LD 11.75 shaft to a jacoby pro ultra 11.75 shaft,2 months ago i put on a kamui SS tip,i get good cueball control and english,i use predator chalk also
@@javierjavier5468 i already asked dave jacoby about the cue last year,he said there is lil bit of deflection,i just remembed that i messaged him,the ppl at cue sports live at youtube brag up mikkelsen cues.
I have had the Summit LD for about two months and have played around a hundred games since, I would say, and its an impressive cue. It plays like a high end cue as I have played with a Katana, Z3 and Mcdermott. I would 100% recommend this cue over the HXT or any other lower end cues. You will definitely feel the difference and comparison.
You were hitting with right hand English but the cue ball hit the right side of the 3 ball, you would expect it to deflect to the left. 4:16 time in the video this occurred and it happened more than that one time.
To get apparent ZERO deflection (regardless of the manufactures stated claim of x% low deflection shaft) the cue must be bridged exactly at it's pivot point location. For some low deflection cues, this bridge location is >14 inches from the tip, and this can actually make them deflect more (opposite of what you would expect) in practice than a standard shaft. For example - If you naturally bridge at about 9.5" (the average pivot point location of a standard deflection shaft), your "low" deflection shaft with it's 14" pivot point location will shoot poorly due to less effective natural cancellation of any unintentional back-hand english/off center cueball hits. In the test demo above, you are bridging with the rail, and that distance (can't tell from vid) may be a lot longer than if you were to just shoot from a normal bridge hand on the felt. The key to good results with deflection cancellation (for all shafts) is to first determine the pivot point location for the shaft, and then place your bridge so that it will be right at that distance.
@@bzeheadens1365 Not yet. I've been playing w/ a Predator 314 & haven't tried either of these long term. I did like both the HXT & Lucasi more than I expected, though. Honestly, for someone at my level either Pure X or Lucasi would be fine. I still don't know anyone who's played w/ the Summitt.
@@bzeheadens1365 Same thing. The only thing that I'm worried about is the vibration feedback on the Players Hxt, so I will probably get the Summit, it sounds better to me.
if you put the camera behind the object ball it would be easier to show how you are lining up the cue for delivery to see if it truly is a low deflection cue or yu have simply just allowed for the squirt
What are your thoughts in comparison between to the G Core by McDermott and this Summit LD 12.5? I believe the G Core is running around the same price right now with some retailers. I'm thinking of trying a Summit because its easy on the pocket and looks like it might play just as good in comparison to some quality cue shafts. Thoughts.....Anyone????
@@MidNightSnowFawl Hey if it works for you good to hear i am playing with Kielwood Ld and they are stiffer and more accurate in my opinion that most carbon fibre shafts. They hit like a freight train and usually weigh only 3.2-3.7 oz. The poison shafts aren't bad for a beginner. If I'm buying production new 314 is prett solid and also Ob classic. Those are definitely a step up from the rest.
I bought this shaft and immediately returned it. It felt very low quality, like something from a sporting goods store. For an extra $50 I got a Pechauer P-plus and it is MUCH higher quality...

Sweet it doubled in price 3 years later
Click on your web- is the 308 dollar shafts the low deflection shafts you advertise under 150. If not how do I buy the stick you have in that video

could you make a review video of the balabushka cue ?
Sure
I shoot with the hxt 99 and it definitely did improve my game
Do you prefer this or the Pure X HXT shaft for a bargain LD shaft & why?

Do you recommend this shaft over the purex hxt shaft? Looking for the best budget LD shaft
Yes. Personally I much prefer this that over any other low priced shaft
Is there any vibration feedback? I can't decide between Summit Pro LD and Pure-X HXT. Any recommendations?
No vibrations. For the money. Summit for sure.
Go with the Summit, I got it a few weeks ago and its a really good solid cue. For the price it plays extremely well!
You call that zero deflection? Its a good ld shaft but zero dont think so. Thanks!
Almost zero
Is the shaft one piece maple? Also what is the collar diameter? Thanks
Yes. 1 piece maple

Bro,
Where do I go to purchase this shaft you said u have it for $130 on payments??
Nice video. Does it have lower deflection than the Venom 2?
Thank you. I can't say. Never played with the venom 2 yet.
Venom 2 should not even be considered Ld to be honest it throws the ball like crazy.
I just recently tried one out. Its not as low as the higher end cues but it's not too bad. Has good LD in comparison to cheap cues under $200.
