I was just gifted a 1975 Indian two days ago and I am sure glad that I found your YT page. I’ll be watching for sure. As for where to start? The roof! Thanks so much!
Love The video! I have a 74 Indian that I am going to start repairing and this is perfect for letting me get new ideas and see how you exactly did this. Cant wait to see the interior redone!
I have a 1973 Winnebago Indian 22 ft identical as yours original condition second owner original generator original everything no roof damage out here in Naples Florida.
We have a 77 dodge Champion motorhome with some type of foam looking ceiling inside. Some places are pretty rough but we don't know what the material is made from and I don't want to start taking it off without knowing. Have you ever seen that type of ceiling material in any of the older RV's and know what the material is? Lordy, I hope our reno does not have to be this extensive either! I applaud you for having this kind of patience with these older RV's!
I love these old motorhomes! It's a shame that owners don't do their maintenance as required. I was considering buying one of these rigs but didn't care for the box handling. I ended up buying a 1973 23ft GMC.
@shelburnerv How much would it cost me to have your company?Do the exact same thing to my winnebago. Same year same model. I just need the roof replaced. Also what state are you in
thats a JOB !!! WOW,,,, when i seen the 2 water tanks i was thinkin damn,,, 2 NOS tanks in a camper?? PIMP !!!! i mean dont laugh,, burnouts in a camper,, TOTAL SLEEPER!!! Literally
Is the turn bar the same as a trim with the gutter ? and if so , did you use butyl tape when you installed it ? and is it one piece or 92" sections . Great job well done to you and the crew .
We call it turn bar but yes trim with gutter would be the same. Yes we did put butyl tape behind the rail before installing. The longest turn bar available to us only comes in 16' pieces, so we did have to us multiple rail. Thanks for watching!
We added up all the parts and labor for this job and as you saw it was VERY involved! Saying that this roof replacement would be in the 15k range. Thanks for watching!
I did consider that. Nobody in the industry today is using metal for roofs anymore. I probably could have gotten some metal to replace it but putting down plywood on the roof made it a lot more stable when you get up there to service items on the roof with out wrinkling the roof up. As you can see in the video metal and insulation was all they put up there from the factory. We were able to add a lot more structure the way we did it.
Amazing work!! What is the approx cost of your materials?! I’d like to DIY a roof just like you did, but on a Brave. Very exciting to watch this process and know that it can be done!😊
Great vid and right on time as I am starting the roof replacement on 76 chieftain. One question on the black tape used to cover the edges and the seams, it almost looks like Gorilla Brand duct tape... Is that in fact what it is? can you tell me the name if not? and what type of roof glue did you use? Thanks, Ronnie Poole
Exelente trabajo saludos desde Nebraska
Now that's a project video. great project start to finish, something people will find interest in, and great editing!
Thank you sir!

Those are awesome coaches!
Wow, what an amazing job you guys did on this old Winnie’s roof! 👍🏼👏🏼
Thanks so much!
Cousin Gary is doing a fantastic job 👍🏻 maybe you can take that to the Cleveland car shows once a month, good free cheap advertising
Once I get it running that was the plan. Drive it through the Christmas parade and some local car shows. Thanks for watching!!
Any idea what the total cost was in parts. Not including labor.
$1000
@@shelburnerv After two years you still have an excellent response time
Thanks.

Great project. A lot of work. But why don't you treat the wood so it doesn't rotten out.
We did spray a lot of it with mold spray but a lot of the wood in the coach will eventually be replaced. Thanks for watching!!

what is supporting the roof ? are the walls studs ? 1x2 ,2x2 ? a metal frame ? I don"t see it
The wall assembly.
I bought a 75 Indian d23 recently. Was curious how much that roof replacement would cost?

Have you ever thought about prefabbing that metal rooftop?

We had around $2000.00 with materials and labor. Thanks for watching.
