I had some issue like this before, it was the crankstart enrichment setting who was settled wrong.
If you got sparks, it's not the crank sensor at all, check your fuel pump if it get voltage, if yes it's something between the engine and the ECU.
Last time one of my friend had power to the starter but no pump signal, it was the round connector behind the key holder (something red with some electrical harness on it)

def looks like some sort of fuel issue. he has rpm, so he should have spark. warmup enrichment looks pretty good as well so unless his injectors are effed, has to be some sort of wiring type issue

The sensors being inline like that will actually create a problem.
the first sensor actually is blocking the flow of exhaust, the second sensor (gauge) is going to be all out of wack.
they should be offset from eachother
Came here to say this. Can't have two O2 sensors in-line like that. Then again, you were getting consistent results after you put in the bosch sensors so idk

that intermittent starting issue could be from your obc relay box, its a little black control unit under the kick panel on the drivers side, if you wiggle the box with your ignition on and hear your main relay clicking then its the box. My 87 325is had the same issue and M3nameisjosh on youtube made a good video on it if you want to check it out
I just had a similar problem with my e30 just recently. I’ve had my car for 21 years. If your battery is good and alternator is still original, check your alternator brushes. Mine were not contacting the alternator because they were worn down and it was an easy change. Don’t even have to take the alternator out. If your alternator is not original please disregard. Hope it helps Joel. Watched all your engine build videos and following you closely. ✌️
I also got DEPO ones. I've noticed on the small connector 5W5 type, the black silicone isnt really heatprooof. The silicone or whatever it is is stuffed inside where the bulb sits and starts to melt when the bulb is on and silicone starts to run on the housing. It's a PITA to loosen the silicone and turn that connector to replace the bulb.
Hi Joel, for your low beam and high beam inside your light, you need to connect the straight red one to the light and the round one black to the case of light like a strait pole I hope it's helpful because the bulbs they need both wires wired to work 😉 ,I like your videos 📹 and try another fuel pump 😉

I’ve had issues with both cam and crank sensors, tried all kinds of aftermarket ones and every single one was dead from the box. Everyone recommended me OE BMW stamped one (made by VDO/Siemens) and that did the trick for me.

Yo, the O2 sensors should never be exactly in line, the bottom one should be offset to the right or left (when looking from the top). The first O2 (your ECU) reads correctly, but it creates a flow of gas around it, so the O2 under it (AEM) gets inaccurate reading. If you bung the lower hole up and drill a new one elsewhere (even at the same distance from the turbo as the ECU O2), they should both read within 1% of each other! Should fix a lot of problems the car might be having! Great vid, Love the content bro!!!
check cranking enrichment and honestly sounds like your icv just went bad for the stalling issues so pull the icv and confirm it opens and closes using vems. also could be fuel filter/pump, could maybe also be pcv. and if you haven't changed the air filter on the turbo might as well it doesn't hurt. also confirm the spark plug gap is correct and the exact same as it was for the other plugs, i believe those ngks are happy around 0.028-0.032"
12:00 not sure if this works on the e30 but it should work on the e46. With the car off flip the turn signal to whatever direction you want to illuminate and it will turn on those turn signals but very dim and they stay on constantly. It’s like the parking lights but only on one side for parking in the street.
On some cars you can unplug the crank sensor and it will start, just run rough. Can be a good indication if that’s your issue

check the spark plug wires. Mine had the same problem. Turned out it was the little piece inside the sparkplug wire that cracked and this resulted in the same problems as you have right now.

the back of every haynes manual i think has a spark plug guide that has a refrence chart for telling how the motor is running based off plugs.

I would check the wiring to the city lights too because they do melt the connectors into the housing. I had that problem after a week of installation and had to switch to oem euro m3 city light harness to prevent further damage. Keep and eye out for that with the depos
when you crank your laptop shows a crank speed ... therefore the crank sensor is at least givin a reading ... wether its on the correct mark idk (something you have to set on standalone ecu)

have you checked the fuel pressure regulator? my buddys e36 had trouble firing up because of it.

For dud cam and crank sensors, crank the car one time then turn the key back straight away. Don't let the car start, then try and start the car again, don't ask me why this works but it does lol

Yo if u get auxito tiny leds for the smiley amber bulb,instead of having one tiny led with a dome,they have leds all the way around the bulb,brighter than the ones u got. I have the same size marker bulbs on my jeep,I had the Sylvania ones,I have auxito marker bulbs. What I'm saying is,if u use the auxito it'll light of more of the headlights instead of a orange dot.
OOoooo yes, my country has something for you.... Cranck sensors are nothing big but we got noticed in the US.
Auxito has led headlights that don't have fans!
So I was having similar issues with a bought E36 323TI (M52B25). It would only start after cranking it for 10 seconds; sometimes even minutes.
once it started, it would run without issues until it hits good temperature (after 5 minutes of driving), then it would surge and shut itself off. Wouldn't start anymore after that until the next morning.
mine's on standard ECU so plugged in the OBD reader and had errors in the cranksensor and camsensor. Since these fault are often together I only replaced the cranksensor (DO NOT BUY CHEAP CHINESE BRANDS, they have a marginal tolerance which could result in the same issues again) and after that it would start instantly. When heated up it would still start to surge and die, so replaced the camsensor as well and both issues are now gone.
So Joel, your issue definitly sounds like a faulty cranksensor. To find out: start it, keep it running until it heats up properly and as soon as it starts to surge again, blow compressed air on the sensor (try to not hit your Fan lol) to cool it down. If the surging stops, your sensor is broken or faulty.

Looks like a issue with crankshaft position sensor, check if it’s working good. Otherwise try to use a different camshaft position sensor.
Are they smoked or is it just a projector not a reflector so it doesn't have the shiny backing
ae your rims 16s or 17s. I bought my e30 with 17s and kinda feel weird about them seeing most people max out at 16
actually the parking lights are not on all 4 corners at the same time switched on ... they are switched on one site at a time like indicators. Additionally we dont have markers like all us cars must have; we only have one bulb in the Headlight and one in the Taillight but not Sidemarkers on Cars. Trucks above 3,5 (metric)tons different story
Where can I get these headlights this cheap in Australia? I’ve been searching and they all seem to be around $500 AUD with $100 plus shipping

Noticed no RPM signal in the cluster while cranking. Went back in the video and confirmed ecu is receiving crank signal. I’d be leaning towards crank sensor settings or sensor. Maybe check ignition timing with a timing light. Looking forward to a update video.

LEDs will light up ALOT more i recommend you try to find a set of bulbs without fans that works

You dont have to look for the Crank-Sensor. Its fine, cause you have enginespeed. Better look for the Camshaft sensor. This tells your ECU when to ignite which Zylinder.

You should have bought a Genuine BMW part for the crank sensor, those are the only ones that work all the time. Even "OE" suppliers like Hella and VDO(Continental) dont work a 100% of the time on m5x engines.

Just put the old sensor back, I put either a continental or hella crank sensor in my e46 and it started worse then the bad oem one. I sent that shit back. Only buy BMW branded sensors.
I had this literal exact issue buying a continental sensor from bimmerworld. Had to set up a whole case because they "dont take faulty electronics back" but my car would not start whatsoever, and when it would I could back it out of the driveway and it would stall. I bought an oem bmw sensor from ecstuning and after that my car ran perfectly. I gave this info to bimmerworld and they actually told me they had a bad batch of continental sensors. Go oem, continental is straight garbage. I sent it back and got a refund in a day, and the bimmerworld rep sent an apology.
This is OBD2 on an s52 Btw. Same sensor you bought nonetheless

Driving so I can’t see clearly. On the vems do you see rpm when cranking? Is it at zero? If it’s showing rpm then it’s not the crank sensor. Next time do the flood clearing mode. Hope vems has it. Where you step on the pedal all the way to cut injectors off. If you got too much cranking injector pulse you may be flooding the engine.

Go to the dealer and get an OE crank sensor. Not even oem sensors work properly on M5X engines. Thats that BMW life.

Could be alternator. When my alternator broke the idle got mad fucked and engine sounded weird

i am no professional but it feels like your car has some serious timing issues in this video.. maybe it didnt like the new crank sensor? Idk if you tried to put the old one in, because as you said, the problem with the old was that it wasnt tight and not that it wasnt working?
