    Stan has totaled over 2300 pounds in a raw powerlifting meet. Not only is he the strongest bodybuilder. He is the strongest in the world is his weight class (the 275 lb class). John Karroum you made a very ignorant statement.

    Stan is one powerful dude. The fact that he can be such a accomplished powerlifter and at the same time have a respectable bbodybuilding physique is truely unique feat. Well done.

    Gotta love Stan's strength. 140kg, 12 reps like havin a shit. The big fella struggles out 7 not goin deep and with a fairly heavy spot on the last 2 reps, then ol' Stan chucks another 40kg on the bar without battin an eyelid. Powerlifter v bodybuilder.....aint no thang.

    Bit confusion with me. Here they show fast explosive movement with benchpress. But at other video's they instruct slower movements 3 secs up and 3 secs down. What is the difference in timing going to do for the body?

    stan is not bouncing the weight off his chest, rather explosively lifting it with a ton of speed. You are just plain wrong, stan can lift either way. The difference between bb's and pl's is that powerlifters actually know how to lift explosively.

    Someone please help! When I do bench press incline or flat either one I do not feel a burn in my chest. So after Im done with about 7 sets of bench I do not really feel a burn in my chest but when I look in the mirror I have a pretty good pump in my chest.. But the next day I if i spread my arms out like wings I feel my chest sore as if when I stretch my chest it kinda feels like im ripping it apart or something.. The usually soreness after a workout I guess... Would someone please explain to me if I am doing something wrong? Or is this normal?

    • @jakemusgrave2529
      @jakemusgrave2529 10 років тому +1

      Just because you dont feel a burn or a pump in a certain muscle group intra workout does not mean you are working it improperly. You're fine, that soreness is fine, The soreness means you tore your muscles (in a good way) and they will rebuild bigger and stronger. Keep it up

    • @death3758
      @death3758 10 років тому

      Ok because when I wake up the next day sometimes ill spread my arms out in a wing formation and I feel the soreness in my chest or whatever call it delayed onset muscle soreness

    • @Winscotter
      @Winscotter 10 років тому

      Bench press with a barbell isn't a good chest builder. If you're going for a big chest go with dumbbell movements more.

    • @jakemusgrave2529
      @jakemusgrave2529 10 років тому

      Bench press is a pinical workout for all around upper body strength, plan your workouts around the big 3 and you'll get very very strong. Again, the soreness you're feeling is perfectly normal, everyone has it.

  • @AlasdairBotting
    @AlasdairBotting 12 років тому

    Not really... the difference between BBers and Powerlifters is that BBers aim is working on their appearance whereas powerlifters care about the weight they can lift. It would be stupid for a true powerlifter to sacrifice strength for appearance, just like it would be crazy for a BBer to aim to improve strength if it ultimately had a negative effect on their body building.

      Isolating the chest and trying not to involve his triceps to much. Almost every bodybuilder does that.

    BB and PL are 2 different sports bro. I have respect for both and you should too. Take some time to look up Powerlifting. You'll have a new respect for it and bodybuilding alike. Just remember Bodybuilders train on the Bench, Squat, Deadlift like Powerlifters but with different goals in mind. Bodybuilders pose and perform on stage, while for Powerlifters, The Bench Press, Deadlift platform and the Squat Rack is their Stage. Both sports require insane amounts of "will power" and effort!

    • @jasonhuang1940

      When you're an advanced lifter you train whichever way you want to train. When you see his squat you'll say it doesn't hit depth. When you see his DL you'll say his back rounds. The federation in which he competes in accepts it.
      Perhaps the bench press would not have been accepted, but in that case the last 2 minutes of him flexing disproves your argument.
