Fabulous lampshade idea. Beautiful results. I am just seeing your video for first time spring 2021 and from a professional wallpaper hanger perspective. Had you measured Prior to alcohol inking. Laid out end by end. You would’ve had a more uniform affect. Save ink , save yupo paper. Leaving an inch overhang. For trimming. Simple suggestions to save ink and to save paper, glue spray. These items have become increasingly popular. In turn more expensive.
Thanks Jane for the great video,,, l have made about 5 of these so far and love the effects.. As you say no problem with heating as the original shade that is left on before adhering the yupo is made to withstand any heat and is perfectly safe.. Making for my family and friends. Love your beautiful shade.
Very pretty. I will be trying this for my girls. I would cut the textures to size before using the adhesive. I might also try to place silhouette cutouts behind maybe fairies or butterflies would be cool. Thanks for sharing your craft.
Great job! Jane, you could take you extra pieces and cover your switch plate covers in the room to make matching accessories! And even picture and mirror frames! Oh the ideas just keep coming!
Hi Jane. What a wonderful outcome. Can't wait to start spreading my alcohol inks around with a spatula - never would have thought of that. Thanks so much. U a very clever girl. Cheers, DEB T
Hello Jane!! This is totally awesome!!! I can’t wait to do this...I’ve already got a lamp and shade!!! Amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🦋
Hi Jane great tutorial! What tip do you have on the pinata colours? Is that new packaging or did you modify the bottles. Personally I think the pinata tops are too big.
I did this on a lampshade and had a low wattage bulb in lamp and after lamp being on a few hours it caught fire. Was told by a fireman that not safe to put flammable products on lamp shades of light switch plates or electrical outlet covers. Not safe. Thanks
Debbie Jeffers wow I tested mine for 3 days straight. No issues. Most shades are made plastic on the inside which is what yupo translucent is made of. Can’t say what happened to yours. Very strange.
Jules Madison I already indicated in the video and in the description box below - my lamp was tested all day. It did not even get remotely warm. So, yes.

Hello Jane! Just stumbled upon your channel a few days ago and you are pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing 😍
Thanks for the video Jane, l am at last going to try and make one , love the effect and have a small lamp shade just perfect to try on.
I can't wait to do this in my craft room!
When the light run through the lamp shade does send out different color on the walls? I hope that makes sense
You talked about the protective sprays. Do you spray that on the yupo before you glue it to the lampshade?
Great video!! I had to chuckle.. That has to be the best AI "Penis" ever!!
Pat Frey 😂😂😂
Pat Frey me too this is the 1st thing i saw!!! a penis😂😂😂
Jane Monteith do you put varnish before?
Hi Jane, could you use acrylic inks instead of alcohol inks? Love this tutorial - from a fellow Canadian!
Yep....You're Awesome !
Leaf DiMaria Thanks 😊

Jaz W no they haven’t changed anything. 👍🏼
Did you wind up sealing it?
Kate Eggleston no. But you can if you want. Mine is in a basement so no where close to direct sunlight.

Jane where did you buy the shade? I'm having a hard time knowing where to look and what to search for online. I'm in Toronto. I love this idea!!
1005DG Bouclair
Alcohol inks are highly flammable. Is this safe for a lamp?
Jules Madison I already indicated in the video and in the description box below - my lamp was tested all day. It did not even get remotely warm. So, yes.
Do you know if the Bouclair store delivers in the US?
deborah lipscomb don’t know. You’ll have to go online and see.
Thank you for replying I have gotten my answered because I did check. Thanks again.
Met to tell you, I found my answer and disregard my question. I was too late, in advising you on the Bouclair answer. lol. Thanks
