  • A beautifully choreographed Jugalbandi Thillana in ragam Hindolam and Adi Talam exhibiting the two different indian styles of dance - Bharathnatyam and Kuchipudi. Bharatanatyam by Lakshmi Nandhini and Kuchipudi by Revathy Chandhini, Students of Saila Sudha School of Dance and choreographed by Kalaimamani Guru Sailaja.

    Great clip. Really helps illustrate the difference in the adavus, postures, etc. of the two forms

    Respected Sailaja madam, once you yourself were a blossoming flower, today you are a beautifual nandanavanam, grooming beautiful & aromatic flowers in the form of dancers and these two flowers are from your garden...bravo zulu for your kala seva, hats-off to you sailaja garu...so beautifully you have fabricated & formulated the dance theme that I couldnt resist viewing it at least 20 times at a stretch...so beautiful as your heart....Raja Sekhar

    Personally, I find it impossible to judge two whole styles, with more than 500 and more years of history and evolution by an eight minute piece. Perhaps you have more expertise. You say that Bharata Nataym is more popular than Kuchipudi. If that is the case, has nothing to do with the style.It was declared a classical Indian dance thirty years before Kuchipudi was. Moreover, typical adavus such as the mei adavu are missing in this piece. So, I wouldn't count on this jugalbhandi as being typical
