BIYB Swanage Carnival 2023

The Band has been going to Swanage for a number of years for it's "Band Camp". Why Swanage ? It stems from the time when our founder, John Wyndham MBE, was in the Boys Brigade. We stay at the same location - the Townsend Centre now Cumulus Outdoor. The Band members spend a week together, away from home, to develop music skills, team work, foster friendships and have fun together. This year some 80 members took part with the youngest just 9 years old and the majority 15 and under. Fun was definitly the aim when we took part in the Town's Carnival. Our normal formality is put to one side to entertain the crowds along the route which includes the seafront. This year's dress was a silly shirt and bucket hat - some very silly! We enjoyed it and hope everyone else did.
