Northlane became one of my favorites for their spin on edmsynthcore. And this song is just adding to my love for their music.
Metalcore, but make it trancey - those chord progressions are straight out of the late 90s Golden Age of Trance!
Marcus is the best thing that happened to the band, I love him so much

Can confirm. Saw them on their Make Them Suffer run in the states…I’ve never heard a band sound so good and be so intense live…and I’ve seen Periphery, BTBAM, etc.. Northlane is god tier live artists. They should be headlining every show they play till they retire.
Yeah, they're incredible live. I saw them on one of their final Obsidian concerts here in Australia. I was a bit concerned that due to it being one of their last shows of that tour that Marcus's vocals may have been worn out a tad. But, nope, immaculate he was.

The songs slaps as does Obsidian. I was listening to that album yesterday after listening to the new song. Zero skips on that album. Also Marcus is amazing live as well

With this release I believe we are looking at a new album in 6-12 months. Can't wait for it these guys are just SO damn good.

This song is everything I didn't know I needed.
New Northlane song is amazing, it's very well balanced for the Northlane style. They literally combined different songs from their previous albums into one.
It starts with a very unique and interesting riff with electronic patterns and ends with ambient with amazing melody.
Besides the song itself, i really apprecate and can feel the unexplainable vibe, i think the atmosphere of this song is perfect, it's very pleasant and it's very hard to explain.
Even that ambient ending in the song sounds fantastic on it's own, i don't remember as many bands doing actual proper ambient like Northlane did here.
But overall i wish we had a bit more progressive elements and unexpected: parts, transitions, switches. It's maybe something about structure that i find kinda samey, despite the track is still fantastic.
Dante kinda fixes this issue a little with Guitar tone switch or whatever this thing was, i really enjoyed it, easy 8.7/10 for me.
This is pretty much a grower and don't expect to be blown away by this track on a first listen, it requires a special taste, but this will get anybody sooner or later.
Cannot agree that it sounds like Obsidian 2.0, there are some differences in vocal melodies, atmosphere and some parts.
Though i kinda hope that we will get more variety on the upcoming album than it ever was before.

Alien still has to be an absolute favorite album of ALL-TIME and wished he would have had some screams here at the end of the chorus into that sick-nasty riff. So thankful to have come across your channel Drew! Been subbed for 6 months or so now and have watched almost all of your vids! Irish roots and can't wait to visit the motherland. Dude! Northlane has been getting bigger and bigger to me. Alien gave me the spark that I didn't know I needed for EDM. Obsidian, turned me into an EDM fan. And DANTE just made me what to become a metal DJ lol forever greatful for your and MetalBirbs reaction to the album.

Same kind of vibe as the new Thornhill imo. Not pushing any boundaries, but pleasant enough to listen to. Marcus' vocals are really the highlight.

Alien was such a massive album that it was almost impossible to top it with their next. They didnt want to just do another Alien 2.0 and they kept the progression into Obsidian. I hope they can move back towards that Alien sound a bit more, and this sounds exactly like I wanted. Killer song.

There's so much to love about this song, the vibe is truly immaculate ✨
Though I cannot shake the feeling that this track was basically written around an amazing chorus, like they had this idea predetermined and they couldn't build up enough onto it, it's kinda lacking most of the time 🥲 those empty spaces doesn't really feel spacy, atmospheric...more like "I don't know" and it kills the pace

But there's no climax really and we finish off sleeping on the bed with a piano playing in the background
Hopefully next single will make us truly liquid

Man I really can't enjoy this song though. I've listened to it several times now... Glad everyone else seems to like it. I can't get into this whole edm metal thing. Silent Planet is doing the same thing currently and its driving me nuts :(
(Although I will say Silent Planets new songs are still much better than Dante/Obsidian imo)
I really hate saying this because northlane is such a big inspiration for me but I can't consider myself a fan of anything after Alien.
I loved Alien, Alien was still a metal album but with electronic influences and that was sick, its was still like 80% metal. Unfortunately this is probably the last album I enjoyed from them. Now i feel like its totally flipped and now they do EDM songs with juuuust a little hint of metal influence.
Northlane’s new sound is amazing and this chorus is HUUUUUUGE. So excited for the future of this band.
Too bad for for the insufferable elitist gatekeepers that keep complaining they don’t sound like they did on a 12 year old album and are allergic to moving on 😂
I'm so happy that they keep expanding the genre with electronic influences and experimentation. Overall Northlane has been a band of successful experiments for the last years. This is such a cool thing, i think nobody did that before on such level. Dante, Cypher, Obsidian, Dark Solitaire and Abomination are fantastic songs, they mixed with EDM and Metal so well that it sounds very natural.
Gotta update my rating from a (7.8/10) to a point higher (8.8/10). Just gets better with every listen good LORDT

I gotta be honest, this still hasn’t hit for me, idk why.
I’ve had a bit more of a listen to it (4th time), and I can see why people love it, it’s just personally not my style, most likely it feeling a bit more ‘electronic’ than what I like to hear. Like as an example, Orphan Breed’s breakdown in the first couple listens was honestly off putting with how strong the electronic elements in it were. It’s fine now, I enjoy the song, but when it gets too ‘techno, dubstep, hardstyle etc etc’ I kinda tune out. Either way, Northlane are Sydney boys like me and Polaris, so I hope this song pops off outside of metal core, and brings more people in to enjoy the awesome genre that it is. That’s my full thoughts.
