It’s definitely a risk for the older cars with the older guides. I was willing to take the risk and didn’t have any issues 🤷🏻♂️. I didn’t trash my car either. Did a few fun pulls here and there, but def didn’t beat up on it constantly
@@iAlwaysSpeakTheTruth I just purchased a 2014 f30 straight out of BMW dealership with 80k miles should i be worried about changing the timing chain/guides anytime soon?
Ok because I’m planning on modding it after I get it for my first car in a couple of months my dad has owned many BMWs so I know maintenance and the BMW stuff
Great video, so the stage 1 mod requires no upgrades? Just buy it and follow the steps in the video, and then according to the website I will have 16 percent more horsepower and 20 percent more torque? If thats the case I will definitely consider buying this because that is big power upgrade for 600 bucks.
Hi. Good review. Thinking of getting BM3 for my f30 320i and unleash those N20 inside 😀. Btw, do you know if BM3 also available for ActiveHybrid 5? Not seeing it in their website.
@@skrrtproductions I believe I’ve never seen anything higher than 91 in my state... do you think I could still pull off the tunes running on that? Thank you
@@projectinfamous24 forsure, Bootmod3 has 91 octane tunes as well. Idle may be a bit rougher but you shouldn’t have any major issues. You can also look into getting an octane booster (additive) but idk if you want to get that technical haha
Not sure exactly, but my friend that dyno’d his was stage 2 and put down about 275 whp so I’d assume stage 1 is like 250 to the wheels? Not sure on exact number, but way more fun to drive and feels better in lower gears
If you want more power I don’t see why not. The intercooler is good but you should probably get a charge pipe too if you’re pushing more boost. Up to you man. Ive seen plenty of examples of tuned n20/n26 at higher miles. Just gotta keep on top of maintenance
Well since you have a new turbo and timing chain you can if you want with lowered risk. Other items to look out for and maybe have replaced soon are valve cover gasket, injectors, oil filter housing gasket, & HPFP. All depends on how long you plan to keep the car and if the tune and extra mods will be worth it $$ wise. Definitely makes the car more fun lol
Hey bud I have a bmw 428i x drive , but I did a AWE quad exhaust w/ mid down pipe and changed the charge pipe. Getting my intake done soon getting the Bootmod3 you think I can get over 350 HP?

BM3 was amazing 🔥🔥🔥 super user friendly! Really opened the N20 for us 🙌🏽
Nice review bro and great narrative on that set up... greetings from NYC
M M thanks man 🙏🏼
Good info on the BM3 setup and app 👍🏼
Dom-iY thanks Dom!
I was contemplating on going with bootmod or DME...good review. Now I got decisions to make
Thanks man! Yeah BM3 is super smooth but I don’t have anything to compare it to bc I haven’t driven any other types of tunes
MHD 🤔
F80 Ho is that what you would go with?
F30 Skrrt yessir I think I’m switching teams when time comes 😎

Heads up if you haven’t already , place make sure to do timing chain and guides.
Is it best to do it with everything else or wait? I'm at 56,000 but about to start upgrading.
It’s a tough call. I never had any issues and ran a tune for 2 years and ran up to 76k miles before trading it in

Very nice, tuning cars is so much fun.
Do you think I would be fine if I did a charge pipe downpipe spark plugs and stage 1 tune?
I can’t say forsure lol, but that’s what I did and car was fine for 20k miles before I got rid of it
Or do you need to do coils?

That’s exactly right
How kuch is the map package?
Like close to $600
@skrrtproductions is it for the bm3 program?
Or does it come with the map pack?
Great video man, just curious. So it’s recommended to increase the distance of the spark plugs slightly for cooling gains? Just new to the platform
Thanks! Typically recommended to decrease, so the opposite
Great vid, thanks.
Thanks for watching ! 🤙🏼
Nice video bro how’s the car holding up ? Any issues since then ? I’m considering going full bolt on and stage 1 tune as well
I ended up trading it in but never had any issues. Main thing to watch out for is timing chain issue on 2012-2015 models

Thanks! Haha yeah the N20 is a solid engine despite a few weak points (as with any car). I’m not sure you should email protuning freaks about that
Dumb question, when you flash different octanes that means you have to use different gas correct?
Correct! Should always use 93 octane regardless unless you live in a state that only has 91 as the highest octane

93 octane in the car?
Yup, always. Unless you’re on west coast and have 91 at best

I dont understand people that flash tunes and dont check it on the dyno. For me they are selling happiness, not hp.
