I've known about the plastics being leeched from heated plastic plates, bottles, cups, etc. for years. However, this past April after I read reports of plastic being found in people's blood, I re-examined all my food and drink, and realized that my coffee maker is a huge plastic reservoir where the water is heated to percolate the coffee in a huge plastic basket. So I switched over to manual coffee brewing since then using all stainless steel. It may not be anything, but it feels like an ounce of prevention.
my wife has been "gluten sensitive" for a few years, but it was especially bad for our first two newborns to the point she cut it completely out, otherwise the babies were up all night screaming and throwing up. we ordered some Italian flower that is tested for roundup, and she has eaten it with zero inflammation, and had it with no negative effects on our third newborn. we have tried introducing US made bread as a test, my wifes fingers swelled up, and baby got sick and crying colic. i feel completely insane, but we have controlled it enough to know its Roundup doing this to her and her breast milk. we are being poisoned on an industrial scale nationwide.
I've noticed I get insane indigestion when I eat certain bread/pizza places/ bagel places...I've realized I cannot eat anything with enriched wheat flour...organic wheat flour is ok usually. Sprouted grain bread no problem at all. Maybe that helps you out

I did a college project on micro-plastics and found out that the BPH in agricultural plastics leeches into the soil over time as well as the plastics just being shredded into continually smaller piece. The leeched BPH and the micro-plastics contaminating the ground water supply and the traces left in the soil are picked up through the plants root system so now canned vegetables are highly contaminated with BPH which is a molecule that functions as an synthetic estrogen blocker in the human body in turn affecting both male and female hormone regulation. I'll leave interpreting what that might mean to others...
You don't think it's from the BPH in the can lining? Was there a control sample that wasn't canned? Also phalates and other plastic derivatives are called endocrine disrupters. They mimic the effects of estrogen in the body because they fit in estrogen's receptor sites.
Don’t eat canned food! Ever wonder why the steel doesn’t rust/corrode? The inside of the can is coated in plastic/BPA. Also the food is preserved wit fluoride (I hear) to preserve it and fluoride is as toxic as lead. Eat frozen is better. Fresh is best.
There was a video I saw here on UA-cam about the ingredients that go into making a Domino's pizza in the US vs a Domino's pizza in Europe. In Europe there was 11 ingredients and in the US there was over 30. There was so many chemicals in the US Dominos that are banned under EU law. It's kind of disturbing.
My wife is from Finland and I found out that butterfingers, the candy bar, are not allowed in finland, but also europe in general, because they deemed butterfingers "not for human consumption"-actual wording. We eat shit in the US.

I think they can make plastic-like material out of hemp. It doesn't last forever (which is a good thing) but it would be great for single use items like straws, lids, baggies etc.

My undergraduate research in 2014-15 focused on glyphosate (in round up) and its potential effects on burying beetles specifically because it was hypothesized to be one of if not the main catalyst for their rapid declines in populations to the point of endangerment for many species in the US. We also studied indirect genetic effects, and although I've always valued her immensely, its only been the last two years that I realized how truly brilliant and ahead of time she truly was a thinker and doer. I'm pretty pissed that Joe of all people prefaced glyphosate by calling it a conspiracy. It's not a conspiracy. Glyphosate is banned in many countries and banned all over the EU from public property usage. It's been 100% proven to cause cancer and dysbiosis (a damaged gut microbiome).

He said when roundup first came out the spokesperson came to their plant to introduce it and he said the guy told them that roundup is so safe u could drink it. Wife thought she had serious gluten issues until we went to Europe and she could eat the bread. Started buying organic bread and she has had zero issues now for 5 years. Can eat all the organic bread she wants without any stomach cramping or issues.
In Europe, many bakeries prefer to be a little old school when it comes to making bread and don't add preservatives or additives at all. Technically, all one needs to bake bread comes down water, salt, and wheat anything else is completely unnecessary
I have significant GI issues too. My gastroenterologist took my off wheat and dairy completely for 6 weeks. I’m reading alot of comments about people taking commendable steps in terms of prevention for plastic contamination. The problem is that in the past few decades we saturated our entire Earth with plastics that it’s now EVERYWHERE. A few years back, Joe had a podcast with Dr. Shanna Swan who is leading the charge for research about plastics in our resources and the negative effects. What absolutely TERRIFIED me was that she discovered about phthalates FROM AN ANIMAL. That hit me and terrified me to the core.

Like you said, they cause decr sperm counts in men, etc. it also causes problems in women like uterine fibroids. Because they act as estrogen in the body, it also affects the brain. I suspect that these compounds contribute to the feeling in some males in feeling like they are women. On top of that, males have an X chromosome, too. So some gene on the X may be expressing itself in helping to contribute the feeling of being a trans woman.
People who are gay have always existed. Gay people have been found to have higher than average progesterone. Trans people in ever increasing numbers, no.

Day to day plastic is everywhere. We eat breathe and sleep on plastic. Plastics in air filters, insulation, carpet, toothbrush, contact lenses, socks, underwear, pants and shirts, glasses, cookware, cutlery, food containers and dishes, water filters, toothpaste, soaps, shampoos and conditioners, in your cars too. It's impossible to rid your life of it, so it seems.
It’s always been amazing to me that humans have thrived for millennia from grain. Making bread from said grain. But all of a sudden bread is bad. I have always thought if bread is bad it’s because of some crap they put in it.
Ehhh, not really. Humans become shorter and there was more malnutrition in the bones of the first farmers. Grains have a lot of anti-nutrients that block absorption. Blood type A was theorized to come from Europe because they are a lot of grains.
Gluten production increased dramatically starting in the 1980’s. You figure 1-2 generations of slowly adding more to the diet, and eventually you’ll have food allergies to it
It always weirds me out when things that are dangerous are at "low enough levels to be considered safe" I just don't trust that with how many things were regarded as safe/healthy in the past but we find out later there is no healthy levels, like radium for example. My first job as a teen was at a bottling company. The conveyer belt that makes the tops is littered with a fine plastic powder. The tops drop into water for cleaning but everything on that belt goes into the water. So its still covered by microscopic fine powder thats still in the water by the time the top is screwed on.

My friend was diagnosed allergic to gluten after eating bread his whole life with no problems. Turns out organic wheat is fine, it's all the round up sprayed on wheat these days that causes bread to make him sick.
That makes no sense. Glyphosate does not change how your body breaks down wheat protein (gluten). I love reading BS “my friend” stories like this on the internet.
@@SuzukiKid400 So I used to consume lots of wheat. Heard about glyphosate. I switched to organic sources. Kept everything else the same in my diet. Still kept chugging wheat overall. What I noticed was no flu-like symptoms which I used to get once a week/fortnight like clockwork. That's just what I noticed. I eat organic now and whenever I try "normal food" my body tries to flush the chemicals. Homeostasis can be with or without a bunch of chemicals. Most peoples bodies are at the point where they're used to eating poison food. A "juice cleanse" wont flush these artificial chemicals. It takes time.
I work in a plastic injection molding factory and it’s insane how much plastic is thrown in the garbage to make plastic products. With some products there is more scrap plastic in the garbage then it takes to make the product.

From what I've heard, it's not the single dose that you need to be worried about -- it's the cumulative effect of having it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day of the year, year after year. Kind of like smoking and drinking. A lot of people can smoke and drink moderately for years, with little to no noticeable long-term health consequences. And then one day, you wake up with all these health problems that developed almost imperceptibly over the years, wondering what happened, and how you got there.
That what happened to me. I've heard it called the barrel theory of toxicity. Your body being the barrel. One or two drops and you think nah that has done nothing to fill that barrel. But you keep dripping toxins in there and eventually the barrel fills up. I basically can't eat anything not organic now. Joe Rogan basically saved my life telling me not to eat bread and all that garbage food. If I ate bread every day for a month I'd probably be dead.

I keep reusable glass Tupperware containers in my car and bring them to restaurants when I know I’m going to have leftovers or I’m ordering food to-go. When I explain to restaurant staff that I’m trying to help the environment and reduce micro-plastics, they usually love it. Plus it saves them a container and it’s better for our health. Hot food+plastic=no bueno.
I used to work a job doing ecosystem restoration. We sprayed tons of glyphosate in wetlands, prairies and forests on invasive plant species. We would use low concentration, but we handled it almost everyday… I quit that job after a year. I love helping the environment, but there’s gotta be a better way or different chemical to use to kill invasive plants.
I do know that when they quit letting it dry in the field, gluten started becoming a problem. During the drying process, there was also a fermentation process occuring. That kept the gluten in check, improved the health benefits and increased the yield - the seed would swell and shrink (some kind of fungi action) and when it was thrashed the seed let go easier, thus higher yield less work. Learned this from a drinking buddy, a history doctor of some sort. I love history, so it's an easy subject to get drunk with and he was pretty cool.
Yup, it's the lack of fermentation that's fucking it up. It's why sourdough.etc. is way better for you. It's why you should avoid almost any grain product, as much as you can. And it's not just because of the gluten, either. High GI foods spike your insulin and is the leading cause of diabetes, heart disease and other ailments. Just don't eat it, your body will love you.
I think he was drunk. The Glyphosate is long gone by the time corn is forming. If Glyphosate is needed it is applied only to corn that is resistant. Then only when certain weeds are putting pressure on the crop when young. The spray most common for wheat and corn is 2-4-D. It kills broadleaf without harming monocot plants.

However, it there's really nothing about a biological system, such as humans and our fuzzy butt friends, that is simply cause and effect. I'm finding out, every change affects many systems down stream. That is a really scary proposition, with the costs possibly going completely unknown. Your right, when looked at, most of the products sold today are not nutritious, but poisonous. I have recently given up bread and milk due to arthritis, helps to know there is a medical reason to stay away.

Gluten is never a problem, gluten is a direct occurrence of the fermentation that you are talking about. We call it curing. You would be surprised by how many different products you can make out of the same substance at different “gluten” stages. There’s more going on than you think.
We should also note the level of contaminants in tap water. As far as microbes go most municipal water systems do a fairly good job of removing those. Aside from that though there's industrial runoff, agricultural runoff, pharmaceutical products, recreational drugs, heavy metals and a host of other sources of concern if you're health conscious. The best alternatives to tap water are spring water and distilled water, a close third best option would be a reputable filtration system like a berkey water filtration system or a sertodo water filtration system. Alive Water is a company that has a map of the US with thousands of locations for free and paid springs. Its at least worth checking out if you have a spring in your area because then all you would need would be enough jugs to get you through the week. Then its as simple as one trip to fill up a week and you've got safe drinking water and water for cooking. If you don't have a spring nearby distilled water is better than filtered tap water. With distilled water you also have the added benefit of purging any inorganic solids out of the body when you start drinking it - so any heavy metals in the body from drinking tap water, or aluminum from deodorant, you get the point. If someone tells me they're going to do a fast for an extended amount of time I always recommend using distilled water because it will greatly increase the detoxification process from the fast. If you don't have a spring nearby, and you don't want to drink distilled water then a countertop filtration system that actually removes pesticides and heavy metals is the best option. On average tap water has 300 solids parts per million, so for every million parts H2O theres around 300 parts that are solids, and its your guess what those solids are but the vast majority you do not want to put into your body. Fridge filtration systems and brita pitchers usually only remove 20-30 parts per million so youre still looking at ~270 ppm at best. Spring water usually has ~35 ppm, and distilled water is between zero and six ppm on average. Theres also a company called zazen alkaline water systems who makes a shower head mount filter for about 150 USD that removes all of the nasties from the water you're bathing in. If you're going to be concerned about what you put into your body, it might be worth thinking about the water you're putting on your body. Ultimately it is really disappointing that humans have to go to such lengths now just to not poison their bodies. But thats what you get from over two hundred years of prioritizing profits over everything else. No respect for nature, no respect for the human organism, no respect for life itself... just more and more money by any means necessary. I am not affiliated with any of the companies I listed - I've just been researching this whole water thing for awhile now lol.

@@lagtowns Alive water also sells glass jugs that are 5 gallons each which I use. They are $25 a pop but I dont like my water touching plastic. I also switched to glass water bottles with the clasp top that stays on when you open it, like an old timey bottle I guess. If you can afford it glass all the way is the best option. Also I should point out there are countertop water distillers that are around $150-$250 a pop depending on how nice you go. So theoretically you could buy one of those systems, distill your own tap water, and then capture it in a glass jug. Put the glass jug in your fridge, and then go straight to a glass for drinking or a glass water bottle for carrying around and at that point you will only be drinking distilled water which hasn't ever touched plastic. Look up videos of people before and after distilling water using one of these systems. The amount of shit in tap water is disgusting and it all gets left behind once the water has evaporated.
@@Shatamx Theoretically if you drill your own well you wouldn't have to deal with all the stuff in tap water. Thats assuming the body of water you drill into hasn't been contaminated somehow. If you live near any heavy agricultural areas I would test any well or spring before drinking it.
I live near a lot of agriculture and have a reverse osmosis water filtration system installed - I don't drink bottled water or tap water unless left with no choice
I have stage 4 breast cancer and I’m 33. I was in good health. I used to be a yoga teacher and rode my bike 20 miles a day and was pretty much on a Mediterranean diet. I’m also a freelance court reporter and I’ve taken a number of Monsanto RoundUp WEED KILLER depositions. They literally mock us with the name. I am no expert, I’ve just taken the depositions of countless experts in these cases and I can say with 100% confidence that the cancer I have came from ingesting glyphosate most of my life in one form or another. It takes 10+ years for it to even begin disintegrating. It’s in every single thing, even if you buy organic and have whatever kind of diet. And my cancer is so aggressive and grew so fast, my oncologist did the Myriad genetic testing on me to see if it was in my genes. Nope. Not one mutated gene. Insanity. One in two people will have cancer in their lifetime. I’m sure it’s at every single person now.

I spent time in Indonesia and lived in a village that hadn’t had Europeans since Dutch Colonialism and I felt amazing out there. Coming back to America made me feel sick the first week. When I was there I always felt great, even when drinking I had no hangovers (and I only drink there, never was a drinker at home)
Round up started its purpose as a herbicide. It stops the plant's (weed) photosynthesis cycle. But within fairly recent years, some farmers are also spraying it on their healthy grain fields, right before harvest, to essentially kill / "ripen" the entire field at once, so it can be harvested easier. I've heard many Ag people and farmers discuss it but I have never witnessed it. If this is true, then it explains why Roundup is showing up in the harvested food. When used to kill weeds, it's applied BETWEEN the rows of grain (yes, I know there can be some drift). But if it's being applied purposefully to kill the grain before harvest, there would be no time for the Roundup to fade, to be diluted in the rain, etc. And it is the FOOD being sprayed. Not the rows between the food.
That cannot be far from the truth if this poison is in our food. Round-up is a herbicide used to spray weeds on paved surfaces etc. And to defoil trees in Vietnam ofcourse.
That's crazy about being used to ripen corn ... it definitely wouldn't be washed away! I don't think any sprayer could be precise enough to spray between rows though?

@@theeggtimertictic1136 yes, modern sprayers are very precise, especially if the tractor Itself is GPS driven. The computer controls everything. Program it to remember the sequence in seed planting, and you've got a "map" of the field for it to replay. The seeds are "Roundup ready" seeds, so if they get a bit of over spray, they won't die. But the spray itself is very precise. Organic farmers often use "weed flamers" which are huge implements with many LP-fueled flames that are positioned between rows. Burn the weeds between the rows, not the plant next to it. My husband hand built 2 of these machines. 32 tongues of fire to pull down the rows and burn the weeds only.
We see it here all the time. One day the wheat field is tan and green, next day solid tan. But glyphosate is one of the more tame things they spray. Your grandkid ain't gonna have no taint at all.
Glyphosate disrupts the mycelium bed in the soil which is essential to the distribution and reintegration of trace minerals and other important nutrients.
About 50% of my produce comes from home grown by me and my wife, using water that is filtered using a whole house water filtration system. It's not perfect, but I avoid quite a bit of contaminants at least.
My father and I have been covered in glyphosate from working in greenhouses/agriculture for most of my life. I have erectile dysfunction issues and so does he (we live in a small house with thin walls. You think it's bad listening to your parents have sex? Try listening to them FAIL to have sex some time). I do not think this is a coincidence. I've been having boner trouble since before I ever even had sex, and in retrospect, being neck-deep in glyphosate since I was 12 seems like something to take into context. I don't think I'm alone, but I imagine it's not something a lot of people want to talk about, especially not openly on a Joe Rogan UA-cam video.
You get exposed to that poison then to fix it you gotta go to the Dr and they prescribe pills to fix it . And then those pills will cause some other ailment then pills will be prescribed for that , it's never ending . Win win for big pharma
I've been trying to tell people about plastic and the food contaminated by it for at least 10 to 15 years i guess and they look at me like I have a third eye and horns. When I first started hearing about this it was speculation. I saw that episode were joe talked to the lady about shrinking taints and made my lady watch it exclaiming "see I'm not crazy" I feel vindicated.
Now we also need more serious research and discussions about harmful effects of weird soy based ingredients in the food. In Florida the big sugar industry takes water from Lake Okeechobee, and releases it into the Indian river lagoon(both east and west coast estuaries) after the crops are watered.The water is filled with nutrients and fertilizers (nitrogen, phosphates etc…)The result is disastrous.
I read somewhere years ago that research had been done on alligators in Lake Okeechobee and it was found that the some of the younger male alligators were born with their male parts INSIDE of them. They could not reproduce and it was from the pollution. Sad and sick what has happened to nature.

My parents came to Australia from Italy after the war in the mid 1950's.They started growing tobacco in Queensland and the only chemical that was around WAS DDT.Mum and Dad used to mix the DDT and water with their hands(no PPE back in those days). They then poured the mixture into knapsacks and sprayed the tobacco. Tobacco grows pretty tall and Mum is short so she would chemical chemical all over her. Glad people are waking up to the issues with plastic. Most of the nanoparticles come from the water supply but another huge issue is heating plastic that comes in contact with food. Everything from putting hot food in Tupperware to going to a fancy restaurant where they sous vid in plastic bags. The chemicals that leach into the food are endocrine system disruptors.
The problem we run into with “trace amounts” is that they just don’t know how much is bad. That is they think that the level is safe until they find out that it isn’t. These products are used ( some very extensively) until the results show up. The regulatory legislation only happens after the damage is done. Also these actions occur after the companies that make the products have often known for awhile there are concerns. Then a lengthy balancing act between profit and safety goes on until finally measures are taken to regulate use. All of this is then compounded by lax enforcement and penalties for their use.
Court cases proved the damage that glyphosate was doing and they still haven’t taken any steps to ban it or get it out of the food supply. Which, ofc, calls the integrity of the FDA into question.
Unfortunately we are already seeing the effects en masse. many chronic diseases are indirectly linked to glyphosate especially ones involving the microbiome such as auto immune diseases, it's a deep rabbit hole. Once you know about what glyphosate does, you start to understand the purpose of organic food, and eventually if you are zealous enough, home gardening, producing your own food.

Roundup kills wheat, people spray it on the wheat to kill it off so it gets dried down and they can combine, probably the biggest reason why it can be detected is because theirs supposed to be a wait period between spraying and combining it but not everyone uses the guidelines

I grew up on farm and we grew majority of own food and used no pesticides and I know working on the farm contributed to this but I believe it was my diet of homemade bread and fresh vegetables and our own meat which was not given any steroids or hormones reall gave me the edge and made me one of the strongest and fastest kids I grew up with even though I was one of the smaller ones. So if a pig eats food that contains round up, the person thats going to eat that pig is also going to eat round up. A health issue really depends on several factors to be considered a health hazard. The toxicity of the chemical, the amount you’re exposed to, and the length of time of the exposure are some of the big points. A chemical is parts per billion is a very small amount but that said it appears glyphosate appears to be on all our food so the exposure time could be troublesome
I accidentally learned about this over half a decade ago, it's been a long exposure time, similar article from the time said fda guy testing could only find broccoli without any glyphosate on it of all the foods he tested.
I have a stainless steel waster bottle and i try not to use plastic and use glass or something else. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know not to warm food up in plastic even if its "Microwave safe" I been changing my diet and taking out as much processed foods. Its not easy.
My wife turned me on to this health issue many years ago. We use a Berkey water filter (your tap water has its own set of issues…) and have a bunch of large bottles for drinking on the move. If you’re concerned about clean drinking water definitely look into the Berkey.

Round Up is in Everything! I'm a farmer and understand that the food outside of sweetcorn, sugar beats, soy is not round up ready. But round up ends up on ALL water systems. It needs to be outlawed but Industrial Ag in bed with Gov will never allow it.

And just to give y'all an example of this absurdity playing out in real life if I, as a farmer, am planting a field with non GMO corn or wheat and any farmer near me plants their field with a patented monsanto GMO corn or wheat crop, and then a honey bee goes to a flower in that field and brings the genetic material to my field I can be sued by monsanto for having their 'patented' genetic sequence in my field and I can be fined huge amounts of money for nature doing its thing. Its fucking ridiculous. I've heard of people burning an entire crop just to avoid contaminating their seeds with GMO strains.
I've known about the plastics being leeched from heated plastic plates, bottles, cups, etc. for years. However, this past April after I read reports of plastic being found in people's blood, I re-examined all my food and drink, and realized that my coffee maker is a huge plastic reservoir where the water is heated to percolate the coffee in a huge plastic basket. So I switched over to manual coffee brewing since then using all stainless steel. It may not be anything, but it feels like an ounce of prevention.

I've noticed I get insane indigestion when I eat certain bread/pizza places/ bagel places...I've realized I cannot eat anything with enriched wheat flour...organic wheat flour is ok usually. Sprouted grain bread no problem at all. Maybe that helps you out

I did a college project on micro-plastics and found out that the BPH in agricultural plastics leeches into the soil over time as well as the plastics just being shredded into continually smaller piece. The leeched BPH and the micro-plastics contaminating the ground water supply and the traces left in the soil are picked up through the plants root system so now canned vegetables are highly contaminated with BPH which is a molecule that functions as an synthetic estrogen blocker in the human body in turn affecting both male and female hormone regulation. I'll leave interpreting what that might mean to others...

My dad worked at a fertilizer plant back in the 80s. He was an applicator, the guy who sprayed chemicals in fields. He said when roundup first came out the spokesperson came to their plant to introduce it and he said the guy told them that roundup is so safe u could drink it. Dad said nobody drank it, including the spokesperson

I’m reading alot of comments about people taking commendable steps in terms of prevention for plastic contamination. The problem is that in the past few decades we saturated our entire Earth with plastics that it’s now EVERYWHERE. A few years back, Joe had a podcast with Dr. Shanna Swan who is leading the charge for research about plastics in our resources and the negative effects. What absolutely TERRIFIED me was that she discovered about phthalates FROM AN ANIMAL. That hit me and terrified me to the core.

Pthalates and other plastic derivatives are called endocrine disrupters. They mimic the effects of estrogen in the body because they fit in estrogen’s receptor sites. Like you said, they cause decr sperm counts in men, etc. it also causes problems in women like uterine fibroids. Because they act as estrogen in the body, it also affects the brain. I suspect that these compounds contribute to the feeling in some males in feeling like they are women. On top of that, males have an X chromosome, too. So some gene on the X may be expressing itself in helping to contribute the feeling of being a trans woman.

My first job as a teen was at a bottling company. The conveyer belt that makes the tops is littered with a fine plastic powder. The tops drop into water for cleaning but everything on that belt goes into the water. So its still covered by microscopic fine powder thats still in the water by the time the top is screwed on.

My friend was diagnosed allergic to gluten after eating bread his whole life with no problems. Turns out organic wheat is fine, it's all the round up sprayed on wheat these days that causes bread to make him sick.

What I noticed was no flu-like symptoms which I used to get once a week/fortnight like clockwork. That's just what I noticed. I eat organic now and whenever I try "normal food" my body tries to flush the chemicals. Homeostasis can be with or without a bunch of chemicals. Most peoples bodies are at the point where they're used to eating poison food. A "juice cleanse" wont flush these artificial chemicals. It takes time.

From what I've heard, it's not the single dose that you need to be worried about -- it's the cumulative effect of having it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, every day of the year, year after year. Kind of like smoking and drinking. A lot of people can smoke and drink moderately for years, with little to no noticeable long-term health consequences. And then one day, you wake up with all these health problems that developed almost imperceptibly over the years, wondering what happened, and how you got there.
That what happened to me. I've heard it called the barrel theory of toxicity. Your body being the barrel. One or two drops and you think nah that has done nothing to fill that barrel. But you keep dripping toxins in there and eventually the barrel fills up. I basically can't eat anything not organic now. Joe Rogan basically saved my life telling me not to eat bread and all that garbage food. If I ate bread every day for a month I'd probably be dead.

I keep reusable glass Tupperware containers in my car and bring them to restaurants when I know I’m going to have leftovers or I’m ordering food to-go. When I explain to restaurant staff that I’m trying to help the environment and reduce micro-plastics, they usually love it. Plus it saves them a container and it’s better for our health. Hot food+plastic=no bueno.

I used to work a job doing ecosystem restoration. We sprayed tons of glyphosate in wetlands, prairies and forests on invasive plant species. We would use low concentration, but we handled it almost everyday… I quit that job after a year. I love helping the environment, but there’s gotta be a better way or different chemical to use to kill invasive plants.

I do know that when they quit letting it dry in the field, gluten started becoming a problem. During the drying process, there was also a fermentation process occuring. That kept the gluten in check, improved the health benefits and increased the yield - the seed would swell and shrink (some kind of fungi action) and when it was thrashed the seed let go easier, thus higher yield less work.
Learned this from a drinking buddy, a history doctor of some sort. I love history, so it's an easy subject to get drunk with and he was pretty cool.
Yup, it's the lack of fermentation that's fucking it up. It's why sourdough.etc. is way better for you. It's why you should avoid almost any grain product, as much as you can. And it's not just because of the gluten, either. High GI foods spike your insulin and is the leading cause of diabetes, heart disease and other ailments.

I think he was drunk. The Glyphosate is long gone by the time corn is forming. If Glyphosate is needed it is applied only to corn that is resistant. Then only when certain weeds are putting pressure on the crop when young. The spray most common for wheat and corn is 2-4-D. It kills broadleaf without harming monocot plants.

Gluten is never a problem, gluten is a direct occurrence of the fermentation that you are talking about. We call it curing. You would be surprised by how many different products you can make out of the same substance at different “gluten” stages. There’s more going on than you think.
We should also note the level of contaminants in tap water. As far as microbes go most municipal water systems do a fairly good job of removing those. Aside from that though there's industrial runoff, agricultural runoff, pharmaceutical products, recreational drugs, heavy metals and a host of other sources of concern if you're health conscious.
The best alternatives to tap water are spring water and distilled water, a close third best option would be a reputable filtration system like a berkey water filtration system or a sertodo water filtration system. Alive Water is a company that has a map of the US with thousands of locations for free and paid springs. Its at least worth checking out if you have a spring in your area because then all you would need would be enough jugs to get you through the week. Then its as simple as one trip to fill up a week and you've got safe drinking water and water for cooking.
If you don't have a spring nearby distilled water is better than filtered tap water. With distilled water you also have the added benefit of purging any inorganic solids out of the body when you start drinking it - so any heavy metals in the body from drinking tap water, or aluminum from deodorant, you get the point. If someone tells me they're going to do a fast for an extended amount of time I always recommend using distilled water because it will greatly increase the detoxification process from the fast.
If you don't have a spring nearby, and you don't want to drink distilled water then a countertop filtration system that actually removes pesticides and heavy metals is the best option. On average tap water has 300 solids parts per million, so for every million parts H2O theres around 300 parts that are solids, and its your guess what those solids are but the vast majority you do not want to put into your body. Fridge filtration systems and brita pitchers usually only remove 20-30 parts per million so youre still looking at ~270 ppm at best. Spring water usually has ~35 ppm, and distilled water is between zero and six ppm on average.
Theres also a company called zazen alkaline water systems who makes a shower head mount filter for about 150 USD that removes all of the nasties from the water you're bathing in. If you're going to be concerned about what you put into your body, it might be worth thinking about the water you're putting on your body.
Ultimately it is really disappointing that humans have to go to such lengths now just to not poison their bodies. But thats what you get from over two hundred years of prioritizing profits over everything else. No respect for nature, no respect for the human organism, no respect for life itself... just more and more money by any means necessary.

@@lagtowns Alive water also sells glass jugs that are 5 gallons each which I use. They are $25 a pop but I dont like my water touching plastic. I also switched to glass water bottles with the clasp top that stays on when you open it, like an old timey bottle I guess. If you can afford it glass all the way is the best option. Also I should point out there are countertop water distillers that are around $150-$250 a pop depending on how nice you go. So theoretically you could buy one of those systems, distill your own tap water, and then capture it in a glass jug. Put the glass jug in your fridge, and then go straight to a glass for drinking or a glass water bottle for carrying around and at that point you will only be drinking distilled water which hasn't ever touched plastic. Look up videos of people before and after distilling water using one of these systems. The amount of shit in tap water is disgusting and it all gets left behind once the water has evaporated.
@@Shatamx Theoretically if you drill your own well you wouldn't have to deal with all the stuff in tap water. Thats assuming the body of water you drill into hasn't been contaminated somehow. If you live near any heavy agricultural areas I would test any well or spring before drinking it.

I’m also a freelance court reporter and I’ve taken a number of Monsanto RoundUp WEED KILLER depositions. They literally mock us with the name. I am no expert, I’ve just taken the depositions of countless experts in these cases and I can say with 100% confidence that the cancer I have came from ingesting glyphosate most of my life in one form or another. It takes 10+ years for it to even begin disintegrating. It’s in every single thing, even if you buy organic and have whatever kind of diet. And my cancer is so aggressive and grew so fast, my oncologist did the Myriad genetic testing on me to see if it was in my genes. Nope. Not one mutated gene. Insanity. One in two people will have cancer in their lifetime. I’m sure it’s at every single person now.

Round up started its purpose as a herbicide. It stops the plant's (weed) photosynthesis cycle. But within fairly recent years, some farmers are also spraying it on their healthy grain fields, right before harvest, to essentially kill / "ripen" the entire field at once, so it can be harvested easier. I've heard many Ag people and farmers discuss it but I have never witnessed it. If this is true, then it explains why Roundup is showing up in the harvested food. When used to kill weeds, it's applied BETWEEN the rows of grain (yes, I know there can be some drift). But if it's being applied purposefully to kill the grain before harvest, there would be no time for the Roundup to fade, to be diluted in the rain, etc. And it is the FOOD being sprayed. Not the rows between the food.
That cannot be far from the truth if this poison is in our food. Round-up is a herbicide used to spray weeds on paved surfaces etc. And to defoil trees in Vietnam ofcourse.

@@theeggtimertictic1136 yes, modern sprayers are very precise, especially if the tractor Itself is GPS driven. The computer controls everything. Program it to remember the sequence in seed planting, and you've got a "map" of the field for it to replay. The seeds are "Roundup ready" seeds, so if they get a bit of over spray, they won't die. But the spray itself is very precise.
Organic farmers often use "weed flamers" which are huge implements with many LP-fueled flames that are positioned between rows. Burn the weeds between the rows, not the plant next to it. My husband hand built 2 of these machines. 32 tongues of fire to pull down the rows and burn the weeds only.
We see it here all the time. One day the wheat field is tan and green, next day solid tan. But glyphosate is one of the more tame things they spray. Your grandkid ain't gonna have no taint at all.
Glyphosate disrupts the mycelium bed in the soil which is essential to the distribution and reintegration of trace minerals and other important nutrients.
And trace amouts affect our body's flora fauna in the same way.
About 50% of my produce comes from home grown by me and my wife, using water that is filtered using a whole house water filtration system. It's not perfect, but I avoid quite a bit of contaminants at least.
I use a Berkey to filter water; since than no more plastic bottles.

I've been trying to tell people about plastic and the food contaminated by it for at least 10 to 15 years i guess and they look at me like I have a third eye and horns. When I first started hearing about this it was speculation. My parents came to Australia from Italy after the war in the mid 1950's.They started growing tobacco in Queensland and the only chemical that was around WAS DDT.Mum and Dad used to mix the DDT and water with their hands(no PPE back in those days).

Glad people are waking up to the issues with plastic. Most of the nanoparticles come from the water supply but another huge issue is heating plastic that comes in contact with food. Everything from putting hot food in Tupperware to going to a fancy restaurant where they sous vid in plastic bags. The chemicals that leach into the food are endocrine system disruptors.

The problem we run into with “trace amounts” is that they just don’t know how much is bad. That is they think that the level is safe until they find out that it isn’t. These products are used ( some very extensively) until the results show up. The regulatory legislation only happens after the damage is done. Also these actions occur after the companies that make the products have often known for awhile there are concerns. Then a lengthy balancing act between profit and safety goes on until finally measures are taken to regulate use. All of this is then compounded by lax enforcement and penalties for their use.
Court cases proved the damage that glyphosate was doing and they still haven’t taken any steps to ban it or get it out of the food supply. Which, ofc, calls the integrity of the FDA into question.

Here in MN, our state Supreme Court ruled a few years back that an organic farmer couldn’t sue when they lost their organic certification because neighboring farms were crop dusting pesticides that contaminated the organic farm. Roundup kills wheat, people spray it on the wheat to kill it off so it gets dried down and they can combine, probably the biggest reason why it can be detected is because theirs supposed to be a wait period between spraying and combining it but not everyone uses the guidelines

I grew up on farm and we grew majority of own food and used no pesticides and I know working on the farm contributed to this but I believe it was my diet of homemade bread and fresh vegetables and our own meat which was not given any steroids or hormones reall gave me the edge and made me one of the strongest and fastest kids I grew up with even though I was one of the smaller ones. Now I live in the Philippines 🇵🇭 where everyone eats like that and the old look young and are strong and they don't get colds and things like that

the problem of glyfosate is that it does not leave the soil, crop and body of the consumer. So if a pig eats food that contains round up, the person thats going to eat that pig is also going to eat round up. Glyfosate is causing cancer and Parkinson development and will be noticeable around the age of 70. Farmers and people who grew up and lived their lives, near round up treated fields can also shows signs of Parkinson way earlier in their lives, some at the age of 40.

Burkitts Lymphoma is a rare, but nasty type of cancer that is caused by environmental exposures and it’s not genetic. My cousin died from this at the age of 25.
He started a landscaping business when he was 22 and worked with Roundup nearly every day in the spring, summer, and fall. Every single one of the doctors who treated him we’re absolutely 100% certain that his cancer was caused by Roundup.
As my cousin was in the last few days of his life, we found a small support group for people with Burkitts Lymphoma. As we got familiar with the support group, we were notified of an official investigation in a class action lawsuit against Roundup. We joined and helped donate some money to help with the investigation and hopefully a little bit of justice will be served against roundup.

A health issue really depends on several factors to be considered a health hazard. The toxicity of the chemical, the amount you’re exposed to, and the length of time of the exposure are some of the big points.
A chemical is parts per billion is a very small amount but that said it appears glyphosate appears to be on all our food so the exposure time could be troublesome
I accidentally learned about this over half a decade ago, it's been a long exposure time, similar article from the time said fda guy testing could only find broccoli without any glyphosate on it of all the foods he tested.
I have a stainless steel waster bottle and i try not to use plastic and use glass or something else. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know not to warm food up in plastic even if its "Microwave safe" I been changing my diet and taking out as much processed foods. Its not easy.

My wife turned me on to this health issue many years ago. We use a Berkey water filter (your tap water has its own set of issues…) and have a bunch of large bottles for drinking on the move. If you’re concerned about clean drinking water definitely look into the Berkey.

And just to give y'all an example of this absurdity playing out in real life if I, as a farmer, am planting a field with non GMO corn or wheat and any farmer near me plants their field with a patented monsanto GMO corn or wheat crop, and then a honey bee goes to a flower in that field and brings the genetic material to my field I can be sued by monsanto for having their 'patented' genetic sequence in my field and I can be fined huge amounts of money for nature doing its thing. Its fucking ridiculous. I've heard of people burning an entire crop just to avoid contaminating their seeds with GMO strains.
