It must be very difficult to criticise the "Russian Peacekeepers" who are clearly not keeping the peace and are part of the problem, since there are no international peacekeepers or a buffer zone between the despotic and cruel hubris of the Aliev regime and Artsakh. Difficult also for yourself personally, since you may have many family members in Russia. We have to remember however, that Artsakh (Nagorno Karabagh) is de jure part of Armenia as internationally recognised after the First World War, the League of Nations and President Woodrow Wilson's thoughtfully drawn map. The administrative borders forced on Armenia and Karabakh by the Bolshevik party are illegal by International Law and the Treaty of Sevres is still applicable according to International Lawyers. Please remind everyone and claim what is legally Armenian territory, if International Law has any meaning at all.

I respect this man, he really answered all the questions perfectly despite the fact that the journalist was being rude and manipulative by frequently interrupting him and not allowing him to finish his answers. I'm not sure what Ruben's motives are for being in Artsakh, but I feel he is doing the right thing there.

However, his neutral responses give me cause to believe that he is genuinely concerned for the well-being of the region. The questions posed to him were relevant and natural, but they should have been posed in a more moderate manner, so as to not make it evident that they were seeking to manipulate and modify the words of the respondent rather than being focused on safeguarding people's rights.

It would have been interesting to have Mr. Sackur interview the leader of Bosnia Herzegovina during Sarajevo siege and saying the same “so you have 2 options: surrender to Serbs or get back to wherever you come from”.
This is a good interview. Vardanyan spoke well and Sackur asked the questions which need answers. What is the future of Artsakh if it can't defend itself militarily? Artsakh should have made a deal and joined as a smaller Artsakh more compact, easier to defend and closer to Armenian Republic border, in 1990s when it was in a position of power. Seems too late now. Only beating the Azeris in another war, or, at the least a stalemate, will save Artsakh now I'm afraid. Recognised nation states never like to recognise nations which change borders that's the unfortunate truth - look at Catalonia.

After reading a huge number of joyful comments from Armenians, I decided to watch the interview. To be honest, I'm shocked. The man who refused to support Ukraine actually confirmed that he is a protege of Russia.

We say have say, we happy to have a guest most, but also happy when they leave, and you there still and wonder why no one happy to have you there. Congratulations State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, you outclassed Stephen Sackur with your intelligence and diplomatic skills, while trying to navigate the case for Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh,) which is between a rock and a hard place with a humanitarian disaster unfolding. It must be very difficult to criticise the "Russian Peacekeepers" who are clearly not keeping the peace and are part of the problem, since there are no international peacekeepers or a buffer zone between the despotic and cruel hubris of the Aliev regime and Artsakh. Difficult also for yourself personally, since you may have many family members in Russia. We have to remember however, that Artsakh (Nagorno Karabagh) is de jure part of Armenia as internationally recognised after the First World War, the League of Nations and President Woodrow Wilson's thoughtfully drawn map. The administrative borders forced on Armenia and Karabakh by the Bolshevik party are illegal by International Law and the Treaty of Sevres is still applicable according to International Lawyers. Please remind everyone and claim what is legally Armenian territory, if International Law has any meaning at all.

This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional, but it also undermines the credibility of the journalist and the integrity of the profession. I respect this man, he really answered all the questions perfectly despite the fact that the journalist was being rude and manipulative by frequently interrupting him and not allowing him to finish his answers. I'm not sure what Ruben's motives are for being in Artsakh, but I feel he is doing the right thing there.

However, his neutral responses give me cause to believe that he is genuinely concerned for the well-being of the region. The questions posed to him were relevant and natural, but they should have been posed in a more moderate manner, so as to not make it evident that they were seeking to manipulate and modify the words of the respondent rather than being focused on safeguarding people's rights.

This is a good interview. Vardanyan spoke well and Sackur asked the questions which need answers. What is the future of Artsakh if it can't defend itself militarily? Artsakh should have made a deal and joined as a smaller Artsakh more compact, easier to defend and closer to Armenian Republic border, in 1990s when it was in a position of power. Seems too late now. Only beating the Azeris in another war, or, at the least a stalemate, will save Artsakh now I'm afraid. Recognised nation states never like to recognise nations which change borders that's the unfortunate truth - look at Catalonia.
