@darnmarr It's only in Wednesday's edition on page 15. Apparently, closing the lane with a day time only access gate was all Cllr. Jim Longs idea, according to intrepid reporter, Nick Rabbits, who never contacted the BWRA but said that the BWRA supported it. In fact, the BWRA came up with the idea and formally presented the proposal to Limerick City Council and the Regeneration Agency on 14th February 2011

What's the version of this story that was in the Limerick leader?

@Clodbid You seem intent on tarring everyone with the same brush. Matt has ignored nothing, he is very active in the community. He is a voluntary youth worker with Limerick Youth Service and is running youth clubs to help improve the area. He was recently elected by Our Lady of Lourdes Umbrella group as the RAPID rep for the parish, I'd say you were ignorant of that.. If you'd like to give us a hand you'd be more than welcome, however, your comments are abusive so I'm blocking you for a month.

@Clodbid It's been pointed out before that Matt is not his brother keeper, nor is he his sisters keeper. The serious problem of heroin addiction is one that the Regeneration Agency has failed to address and many residents have extended family that are affected by it. A minority of people are responsible for the problems in our area and what Matt and the rest of us are trying to do is lend ourselves to a solution. Do nothing whingers like yourself are also part of the problem. - Cathal McCarthy
