This video is great! I love the format. It helps me start putting all the pieces together. I really like how you explain the conditions and time of year which influence where the bass will be positioned and then go into detail about the techniques used to catch them. It'd be great if you and Randy did videos like this and explaining on the water how you approach a day, what you try and how you end up finding a pattern that catches fish.
I love when you do these tournament recaps. I think most fishermen struggle with where to fish more than how to fish. Using real tourney results is super helpful.
Thank you for making this video! I watched the whole tournament live and the way DC won was so unique, I knew you had to break it down for us. Great stuff!
So, I'm headin' to the nearest Bass Pro Shop and drop a few grand on a Live Scope. I feel so inadequate with my kayak and Humminbird Helix 5. LOL Seriously, you are about the only guy I've found on YT that clearly explains how to use fishing electronics. Keep it up!
Just an AWESOME comprehensive explanation/breakdown of how to effectively fish those type of conditions!!! You and Randy do an above the heads and shoulders explanation of a wide variety of fishing tactics by breaking down the environmental conditions, region of the country, and the bodies of water. You and Randy are the bass professors 4 sure. Absolutely love the content!!!👍😃🎣🎣🎣👍👍🍺. Just curious, did you try your Neko Rig with the nail weight that day? I know u used the shakey head at the end, but I saw your 2 videos on that tactic and thought you would’ve employed it instead of the shakey head.
Hey Johnny I gotta tell you I just bought a humminbird helix 7 and your vids are starting to help me understand exactly what I'm looking at on the SI and DI. II have searched your vids to see if you talk about the problem im having to no luck I haven't seen it. What I need to know is what settings do you or I need to have my helix 7 si,di GPS g2 set on to be able to get the readings that you get on vids
Man I have around the same year model as your triton mines a 04 but how do you keep the white carpet so clean?? Idk who in the triton headquarters thought it would be a good idea for white/ light grey carpet
So this may be a dumb question, but when it’s referenced as “upper” or “lower” end of the lake, does that mean the lower end is near the dam or is it south as in a north/south direction reference? I’ve always been confused on this.
Talent of searching by the means of fan casting once your in a spot? It’s irrelevant if an individual posses live scope/live target, side, down, or sonar or not. A person still needs to know how to interpret areas where bass might be by using a contour map and the knowledge of bass migration and movement before you can even use electronics. Furthermore, an individual will need to know how to apply conditions, structure, and cover to even choose a high end producing spot. Even after doing all this and using this knew technology, an individual still has to land the bass in the boat.
Can anyone help recommend what equipment I need? I’m starting at zero with fish finders. I have a few miles of river I want to map and ID spots to set lines for flathead. River is 20-30ft deep, 50-100 yds wide. Would be nice to save gps locations and the imaging is super cool. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks
No live scope- no point in trying this. If they're that picky you're never going to catch them unless you can see in real time where they are and how they're reacting to your bait. According to another pro fishing the tournament at Eufaula there were bucks up shallow on beds the last day but- they weren't locked on yet and the females hadn't shown up. I assume they weren't locked on anyway cause he said he couldn't get them to bite- I think he ran out of time but- the females probably showed up the next day or the one after- I bet you could get them to fire now.
You are the Buck Perry of electronic Fishing. Makingthings simple and easy to understand. Thanks!

Tha ks
do you ever fish greers ferry or lake ouachita
How is your 1022 and black box wired is it all on the cranking battery?
You been using livescope for spawning fish? Been trying to use it shallow without a ton of luck.
What size weight were you using on shakey?
What kind of casting reels are you using and what gear ratio?
Dang Jonny your fishing my secret spots lol
Man I have around the same year model as your triton mines a 04 but how do you keep the white carpet so clean?? Idk who in the triton headquarters thought it would be a good idea for white/ light grey carpet
Awsome
On your livescope it said the water temp was 63°. How can that be correct in Arkansas/Missouri?
I was fishing on a hot water discharge lake. The conditions were almost identical to lake eufaula which was pretty convenient!
Hey Jonny, Do you fish in any tournaments?
Idk why I laughed so hard when u said randy came in clutch 15 years later on the jerkbait lmao
Water clarity and temp?

The lower end of the lake is closest to the dam, regardless of direction.
@@jimobrien2407 Thank you
Do you do guide work? I live in Missouri would love to fish with ya.
That's cool, live target kinda takes the talent of searching for bass out of the equation though.

🤘🏼
what if you dont got live scope?
Watch to the end of the video. I explain how to make this pattern work without Livescope
Went to fish Brewer Lake in Arkansas and someone has dumped trash all over by the boat ramp. I picked up want i could only had 1 trash bag
Even now 2 years later I feel like fish have adapted to panoptix to where this doesn't happen anymore.
small jerkbaits are so underrated
Can watch jerkbait videos all day. Love the hits on the pause!
You guys and all this tech out there on the water are funny. Maybe you should try casting directly into the fish's mouth.
