- Hi everyone!
In this food VLOG of Seattle (my first on the West Coast), I want to share the World's first Starbucks in Pike's Place, an authentic local seafood shop serving tuna and salmon poke bowls, the Metropolitan grill steakhouse, Molly Moon ice cream, sandwich shop in Bellevue, and Din Tai Fung!

I am retired now and no longer live in Seattle I was the chef who opened the Met, my favorite cut is the prime rib
What an honor! I will definitely try that next time!
TRES sandwiches are the best! My family visits this store almost every week!
That’s great to hear from a Seattleite! Let me know if you have other recs in Bellevue
You are so comforting and enlightening,...thank you! Kind of wish the prices had been included,
Thanks so much.. that means a lot! Always trying my best to deliver the best content in an approachable way😄 will try to include some prices too 👍
I'm travelling to Seattle next month. Thank for updating this video! I'm excited to try out the places :)
Let me know which spot you like! I’ll try to upload part 2 soon👍
@@hungrymonster42 I will! I can't wait for Part 2. Oh! Come up to Vancouver in the future!
Nice.. Vancouver will def be on my to-go list! 🇨🇦
What a nice video. I'm glad you were honest. PIke Place Market may be touristy, but living here for nearly 25 years, I still get excited to visit the Market because there are endless options for food and shopping.Hope you had a nice time.
Thanks for the feedback! Pike place had a mix of touristiness and some authenticity as well. No matter what, I think it still represents Seattle. Let me know if I should check out any other place next time!
@@steadystate4015 I hope so, too!
3rd gen Seattleite here. That’s not the actual first Starbucks. The one you were in was created to accommodate tourists. The OG store was a tiny place behind you in the alley.
That’s so interesting! I wouldn’t be surprised by this in order for Starbucks to gain attraction. I wonder if you think Pike’s place is overrated or there are some spots worth visiting even for Seattleites
@@hungrymonster42…and from another native Seattelite, it PIKE not PIKE’S. Read the sign. Only tourists and transplants call it Pike’s Place and that’s just wrong.
@@amadikaday It is easy to understand why someone would assume Pike has ownership of a "place" - Ease up mate!
@@hungrymonster42 I love the market, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. We’d go there about once a month when I was little - late ‘60s, early ‘70s - and I shopped and ate there often in the ‘80s. While I wouldn’t go there on the regular now because of the crowds, I take friends who are visiting Seattle, and on occasion I’ll go with a friend to grab a bite at The Athenian for old time’s sake.
And yes, let’s show our better side here. It’s named after Pike street, which is named for the architect John Pike. Easy mistake and I hear it all the time. Long ago it was called the Sanitary Market, so I’m ok with Pike’s. ✌🏼🌸
Where is that fresh seafood place with the poke? Is it in Pioneer Square? What is the name?
Hi! It's called the Seattle Fish Guys! Unfortunately they are not at Pioneer Square. It appears they are in the Atlantic district, essentially to the east of downtown Seattle. Hope you get to try! The poke was phenomenal.
Fantastic video that Sando shop looked fantastic!
Glad you liked it as well😆
Fish Guys is legit!
Glad I went to the right place 🍣🐠
Great blog. New sub!
Thanks for subscribing! Stay tuned for Seattle pt.2 ✌️
Magnificent. jimmy
Thank you!
Nice Video!
Thank you!
Would of asked him to take it back and cook it a little longer.
Maybe I should have!! I start feeling bad if the server is a nice guy😅
I myself would have been glad, because the meat wouldn't get too tough when I had leftovers later. Eat the edible part now, sear the raw stuff for lunch tomorrow.
It’s Pike Place (not Pike’s Place). Pike is a street not a guy 😊. Pike Place Market (no ‘s)
That totally didn’t cross my mind!
Pike is a fish. A non - native invasive fish in Washington state. You are supposed to kill if you catch.
The plural of pike is pikes. Pikes have made Washington their place now, despite not being from here originally.
Hence the name "Pikes Place".
Man that steak was raw. Send it back
Thank you!! Really glad someone agrees🤣
3:50 What's happening 😂
🤣good catch! There were a bunch of scary looking crows looking for food!!
@@hungrymonster42 Loved the video😂❤️
Pike Place
Yea multiple people have corrected me haha
You came after the mayhem of the COVIDcrisis - I am glad that you needed not to carry and present papers to enter these buildings while you were visiting! Moreover, I am pleased that you missed the discrimination which occurred here.
Oh wow, which buildings required papers? Never knew this side of Seattle!
@@hungrymonster42 It sounds like Daniel has not been to Seattle in a while, or perhaps was just referring to old covid restrictions in Seattle. Vaccine cards have not been needed almost anywhere around here for years. I have worked in Seattle a long time and the only time I ever needed to show proof of vax was when we would go to clubs shortly after they reopened and the vaccines had come out. I have not been asked for this information in almost 2.5 - 3 years now. When I lived in Philadelphia they asked us for cards as well during the initial rollout. Thank you for your video, it was very enjoyable.
@@ratzural Oh how quickly we forget what it was like dinning out within King County.
@@hungrymonster42 All indoor dining required papers as well as most indoor situations such as concerts and events. This was a larger effort initiated by King County, wherein Seattle is located, and did last for a rather uncomfortable amount of time. Many folks simply left while others decided to not engage the various situations/folks' requirements.
Pike Street Market what a Tourist Cliche
I am a tourist indeed! Let me know if you have other spots in Seattle I should visit
My daughter and son in law are going next year. I told them if they see anything Nirvana related I want to see a picture😂
I should have gone to Aberdeen!
@@hungrymonster42 Plenty of locals go to Pike, I am not sure why Kelly felt the need to say that. If you live within walking distance it is a great place for a sandwich or flowers especially. It is certainly not a place people like to drive to, so those are generally the people who would regard it as a tourist cliche
Feel like some natives take it very personal! I thought it was a very interesting place
