Thank you. I'm a beginner with the electric skillet. I just bought one and yes my apartment doesn't have a functional kitchen so this helps. Please more electric skillet videos these are life saving
I have a brand new electric skillet and I can't wait to try this, and lots of other recipes! No me, when I make lasagna, normally I do put a layer of sauce down under the first layer of pasta, like you do. But I also make sure there are several chunks of meat. That prevents the noodles from touching the bottom of the pan and burning/scorching. The meat is like a protective layer between the noodles and pan. Also when I was a kid, my Mom forgot to boil the lasagna noodles (either forgot, or was willing to take the risk? lol). And she put regular noodles in the pan and covered them with meat sauce, cheese and water. THEY STILL COOKED! It came out fine. So as long as there is plenty of liquid and the noodles are covered, even regular ones should work. But if you can get the thinner, oven-ready ones, then yeah, do that.
Hey Barbara, love you working with the skillet. I wonder if you would have better results if you bring the water to a boil? A lot of lasagna recipes with the oven ready noodles say to still soak the noodles in boiled water.
If you can find "No Boil" Lasagna noodles/sheets they would work better here. FYI: I took an electric skillet to college with me in...1969, when appliances were...forbidden. Oy, I made good meals, not just warming soups...i tried Lasagna with the thick noodles, back then. It was a Struggle! I love this video
Barbara love your cooking, but I think you used the wrong choice of words for Jan 6. By far not the most horrific day in America. Slavery,Pearl Harbor, 9/11, mass shootings ect.

You're a life saver! My range went out and it'll be a few weeks till we can afford to replace it, but luckily I still got my handy electric skillet~
That is the most Mexican/American "lasagna" I have ever seen. 😆 I’d still tear it up though. 😋

Thank you Judith, I'll look for those and revisit this recipe.
Well, can’t make it as we all on a food plan but it does look good!
We can do it on the plan, but it'll cover grain, protein and fat in one little piece and you'll have to eat a huge salad.
I swear I sing the Bare Pantry theme song every damn day... Mhmmm... Mhmmm... 😂😩
Meeee tooo Rich, I wait for it. Now I'm starting to put bloopers at the end so make sure you wait for it.

Hi Barbara I haven't had lasagna in years you are going to make me make lasagna it really looks good 👍
My mother (may she RIP) made the BEST hamburger steak & gravy with her electric skillet.
My mom's been gone almost 8 years Craig so I understand. Mom's knew how to do it right?
@@TheBarePantryShow they sure did know how to do it right! My mom has been gone for ABOUT 8 years as well.
I fell asleep so fast last night I almost went unconscious the 🔥 don't like me
Thank you and thank you for acknowledging Jan 6as the most horrible day in America.
You could always use no bake lasagna noodles too
I don't really like the texture of those. They never seem to be soft enough.

All of those are horrific too, but on this day, they tried to over turn democracy.
