Many moons ago as a cadet I used to get jollies in Nimrod aircraft, they were very prone to causing airsickness, A couple of times only a few hours into it I was sick but thankfully there was only about another 7 hours to go. that poor bloke 8 days to go "lol". brave chaps respect
It is a pain the way these documentaries go for such drama, its dramatic enough without them exaggerating it all, same goes for most documentaries sadly.
My father fished the trawlers locally here in Canada ...cape breton island ..for 34 yrs, the vessels name " Ellen N Fletcher.. They fished off grand banks NFLD . these ships are the same style of trawler. . dads boat was built in the late 1950s
Talked to a few mates over the years and they all told me that its a big gamble on weather you might no make a penny for weeks of dirty hard 16 hour days or a big pay day. God bless & take of our mates & boat captains.

Its not always competition between the skippers. If i was out in the weather, id want another boat outside to back me up if i needed them.
They always would if lives depended on it even the French have helped us in a strong gale with no power
