So cool to see a family boat like that there all but gone now.all bought up by cooperations.especially with his sons.such a good way to spend time and teach your boys a trade
@sharkbot25. So.....got a little bit of a thing for the fishies do we? Which ones do it for you then? That tasty little yellow fins or are you more of a hallibut kinda guy? Oh.....I bet it's the stone biters that really get your little prawn excited! Old catfish! Do you just dangle the little worm out there & see what you get? Bit of fish swinging? Ooohhhh, you dirty dog fish you. Here, I heard that monk's can suck a ball joint off from a Land Rover! Was this your experience of them? I heard about the fingerprint, the fingerprint in the bum hole, your bum hole, it was Stinkie pinkie who done it, Stinkie I tell you, he was offering people to smell his fingers so basically he was offering people to smell the bum hole, your bum hole. I passed on the opportunity. But, I was wondering, you know how haddock's have saint Peters thumb print on their side, well, with you with stinkies fingerprint in your bum hole would that make you cousins?
My boyfriend came across this video. Amazing to watch. My stepdad was from Sambro, N.S. I remember 101.41 into the video the cousin to my Dad talking about the Bonnie Lou II, Dad lost 4 of his cousin's; Dad had taken it hard. His niece wrote a song back then for the loss of those four cousins. May they R.I.P.
The kid reminds me of my youth. Two12 year olds in the 'Ellen Constance' N.303. ( N is for Newry, in Ireland.) Harvey Cassidy and I, lying over the rail, sick as dogs and feeling sorry for ourselves. I done 60 years at the coal-face and loved it, most of the time. Drift-netting for herring in the summer and Danish seining for whitefish in the winter. We both achieved skipper / owner status later in life an saw a lot of changes. Thanks for a great video.
Loved the video watched it like 5 times and every time enjoyed it!! Great video. I also love fishing so it makes the video that much better because you know what they are talking about👍👍👍
I work on the F/V Seneca for all most 20 years she was and still is one of the best hook boats out of Portland, Maine ,., but now its so much better going to Neff. Canada to unload fish , in the old days had to steam all the way back too Maine 5 to 7 days steam !
I'm retired now but I had to say I do miss it , just being out in the fresh air enjoying myself smoking a cigarette and enjoy the fishing . The last three years of my fishing career I was at the Cap . Must've been nuts fishing out there back then . Good luck enjoy the big ones guys I'm rooting for you , bye
Great to see the young lads learning the trade early, but call me over protective the younger lad's horse play and fooling around on what is after all a potential death trap, really had me squirming. Fair enough in the cabin off duty away from the stove ect, but he carries on messing around out on to the deck and the crew, probably because he's the skippers son don't chastise him. As was stated a number of times during this great documentary '100% concentration and vigilance is essential on deck' as a freak wave, a snapped cable or any number of issues involving hooks, heavy shifting equipment, slippery decks, unguarded powered winches and pulleys present life threatening hazards and as was mentioned every crewman had either lost a thumb, part of an ear, broken bones ect in the everyday running of the boat and here's junior using the boat and the crew as his playground. As I say I'm probably a bit over protective as aged 15 I started a holiday job cleaning machinery that powered a production line. Within 5 minutes of starting work I had lost most of the first 3 fingers on my left hand, after getting them crushed flat between two half ton granite rollers. Due to quick reactions I managed to wrench my mangled hand free, before the machinery dragged my whole arm in. I wasn't paying attention and was joking about with a work mate. Up until that point I had become a very good guitarist who practiced every day and a career in music was on the cards. That is why I feel very uneasy when I see situations that might end in tragedy, but are easily preventable.
@steve Perry. Mark my words.....You Clearly have absolutely no idea what you're talking about & would do better if you just kept your opinions to yourself concerning things which you are clueless about.
What an awesome story about a boat, the Seven Girls and its Crew. We'll done. Thank you from Seattle Washington.
Great job guys keep the young guys in the fishery and they learning the best training in the world keep the video s coming and take care

Great documentary of a deep sea long liner and some great people too the kind you surround yourself with the winners!
Thanks for producing a great video
They seemed like a really happy crew, they deserve to do well.
Love it!!!! You need to do a story about "Billy" on the boat. What a great kid he is.
Yes you did an Awesome job of making this , only the best for all , and the fish be big
For a crew mostly under 18yrs old they're better than whats working on swordboats now
Loved the video watched it like 5 times and every time enjoyed it!! Great video. I also love fishing so it makes the video that much better because you know what they are talking about👍👍👍
Great documentary. It is as good as any Nat Geo. Showing the 3 generations really made it special. Thanks for the hard work.

It’s cool to see but it’s sad as well to see those big mature swords gagging on deck.
Good video film. Best

Are they killing sharks for the fins? Saw fins on deck when the brought up that shark?
They'll sell the gutted body to fish markets and the fins will be shipped to china nothing wasted
الله يستر عليكم يارب
You really should have done more of these
cool time....yet time to read truth for their future....best dad's watch and pray...in amazing grace...true purpose
Awesome!!!!
good job kids💪💪💪👍👍👍
they need a sat link to check water temps in real time
They don't need a satlink; simple thermometers have been used for a VERY long time to get "real time" water temperatures
the majestic ray
It's a great job once you get into to it. I remember when the cod end actually had cod in it. It wasn't that long ago either.
