I love the way you explain the recipe. I have made this recipe before, but my loaves didn’t rise high like yours. I don’t have a Dutch oven. I used my largest pot, without heating it. It was delicious, but not as pretty! Why would you guess that my bread didn’t rise? By the way… I absolutely love your bowls!! Thanks!😊
Hi Anita, my only recommendation would be to check your yeast. The only time I have issues with the rise is due to the yeast. I have tossed out a few loaves because of the same problem. Thanks for the comment! Peter
Yes, Steve taught a lot of people how to do this! He has not posted videos in years, and I hope he is around to see how his successful videos are still doing. Peter
I've seen some of your videos and I like that you add your own "special spin" to your recipes. Your approach makes the viewer feel like a guest in your kitchen. Keep up the good work Peter! Carolyn from Asheville NC
Hi Carolyn. I am glad you like the videos and hopefully you're getting something out of them. This recipe for the bread is pretty straight-forward. I have an uncle and aunt who also live in Asheville! Peter
I am from India. I am 88+ years old, but still I love to make my own bread. Because of age, kneading the bread dough is not possible. I go in for No Knead recipe. I usually follow the recipies by Steve Gamlin. I will try ro make your recipe. BTW, I love to make Spinach bread & beetroot bread. Hope to learn a few more bread from you.
Hello and thanks for your comments! YES! Steve Gamlin is the YT Creator I learned to make No Knead bread from many years ago. You are correct, his recipes are very easy to follow. I have changed things up just a little bit, but he is a great teacher! So proud of you that being more than 88+ years of age you are still cooking/making bread! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! Peter
Thank you Starrstylist! So glad you like the videos, and you are trying out the bread recipe. It is really delicious. More videos are on their way. Tell you friends please. Thank you - Peter
Hi Peter. I just found your channel and joined and I am so happy I did. I just watched your walnut cranberry bread and I can't wait to try it. I looking forward to watching all the videos you posted so far and all future ones you post as well. My son is a chef and I love watching him cook. He teaches me how to do all his great recipes, (I'm a pretty good cook too, lol). My son said he became a chef because of growing up and watching me prepare meals. Oh, by the way my name is Donna Cooper and I live in Southgate, Michigan. Where do you live, Peter?
Hi Donna, thanks for your comments! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. I enjoy doing them. Yes, the cranberry walnut bread is great and I cook it mainly during the winter holidays. I'm in OKC. Peter
Thank you! The channel is just a couple of months old. I am very blessed to have an excellent team that I work with behind the scenes - and they have great cameras, and are professional graphic designers and video editors. I just do the videos, cook and look pretty! LOL.
@@CookingWithPeterOKHahaha🤣 I’m gonna look forward to your videos! Do you take suggestions? If so, I would like to see you make a creamy mushroom chicken video!🍗
Thank you Peggy! The bread was still hot when doing the video and it needs to rest for about an hour to cool all the way before slicing. But thanks for the comment!
@CookingWithPeterOK I do realize that ideally bread needs to cool before slicing. I just made a banana bread that needed to cool before slicing too. It's hard to wait sometimes though. It was nice of you to comment. Thank you. 😊
Hi Peter! I’m watching from AZ! I just followed your recipe and baked the bread this morning and it came out so delicious! So simple and now I will always have fresh bread in the morning. Thank you so much. Will definitely bake this for our Xmas gathering
Thank you, Xuankieu. I am so glad you tried the recipe and you enjoyed the result. I love that bread recipe! I lived in the PHX area for more than 30 years! Peter (so that I can give you a shoutout in an upcoming video can you please spell your name phonetically for me?)
Very nice video! Will have to check out some of your others. I've been making lots of no knead breads but have not tried fruit and nuts, yet. Going to try this one today...well, actually three! Going to gift to neighbors for the holiday. I have some other dried fruits on hand in addition to cranberries (apricots, cherries, raisins and blueberries) so going to try a mix maybe adding a total of 1 cup. I'm expecting it to taste as good as yours looks!
Hey Holly D! Thanks for the comments. Absolutely! You can add whatever you want to the dough and make any combination you want. In the future, try this recipe and instead of fruits and nuts, try a combination of olives, such as Kalamata and Spanish olives. Just chop the olives rather coarsely before adding, add a TBS of olive omul and a tsp of Italian seasonings. It is a HUGE hit with guest when I serve Italian food. Let me know where you are watching the video from and I'll give you a shout out in a future video. Thanks for watching. Many more videos to come. Peter
Good Morning, Peter! Thank you for the video. Thank you for the detailed explanations - much appreciated. Also, I noticed that you are one of the few who measure the temp. I also have the same dutch oven. I bought it at Costco. I also have a very large, round broader Le C. dutch oven, and the dough seems to spread out too much. - L. from Marblehead, Ohio
Hi Lynn, yes, I always check the temperature of most things when cooking. There is no way to really check to see if the interior of bread (or a cake for that matter) is cooked without checking the temperature. I also use probes in meats because I don't want to overcook them. Thanks for the comment and stay warm up there in Ohio! Peter
Good morning, it is 4:26 am here in Ga right now and i can't sleep lol Caught your video on pizza dough and then saw this one from binge-watching lol I am actually going to go mix this dough up right now, so I can cook it tonight! Awesome videos! I do a lot of my own also and love Artisan making bread. So this is my next one! I'll let you know how it comes out. TY again for the recipe! I can't wait to try it! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

@@CookingWithPeterOK Hi Peter! I literally JUST cut my bread (after it cooled) and oh my word, it came out AMAZING! I am so glad I found your channel! If you get a chance, go take a look at mine, you might find something you could try, that you haven't already haha :) I hope 2024 is your best year ever!
Hi Peter. From Paraguay. I wanted that Dutch oven soooo much! I wanted it from Amazon, but unfortunatelly the tax fee to S. A. Makes it very expensive. Almost the double of the price. If you can, please ask them to lower it down for us, if possible! Thank you.. I follow Steve! I am buying his book. I loved your recepie.
Thank you for the compliment. Watch Steve's video on using the Poor Man's Dutch Oven. It may give you some less expensive ideas that could help. I have no control over pricing at Amazon unfortunately. Peter
That looks delicious ❤️I am going to try this tomorrow 🤣
I hope you enjoyed the recipe! Peter
