Today, we look at day one glitches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet! Right off the bat, there's already countless graphical bugs and messed up physics. I've played about 6 hours of the game so far, so I wanted to showcase the glitches I ran into. Enjoy!

I found a really big glitch literally the instant I started playing, in some buildings if you can put your camera up against a wall and interact with anything, it will clip your camera fully through the wall. The best result I got with this so far is in your own house where if you rotate the camera to the right, then interact with your desk or dresser upstairs you get a super glitchy look of the outside of the building. Also got this to work to the left of the house as well as some other buildings.

@@CWillyHD Another one that I don't even know how It happened, after running around the city for about an hour exploring every last nook and cranny, buying things from all the shops, and picking up every pokeball in the area, I got a "The software closed because an error occurred". I hadn't closed the game since I started playing so I don't know if it was some kind of memory leak or what, all I know is the crash happened while walking around the one part of the city where there's pathways along the rooftops. Nothing I had done since I got into the city saved and I had to do it all again...
yea from what I’ve seen on twitter you have to save and restart your game every few hours to get some memory back. Really hoping for a patch soon
@@CWillyHD Oh one more! When I first started the game all the way up until getting to the academy, if you looked at the entrance to any building, there would be a pokeball stuck in the ground right in the center of the entrance. I'm guessing that's where 0,0,0 is for each building and for whatever reason the game is loading a pokeball there. After I got past the academy this glitch no longer happens even for buildings it used to work in. However, I've seen someone post images of great balls loaded in the floor instead of pokeballs so maybe it can be re-enabled? I'm not sure what caused it, maybe something to do with the default clothes cause it stopped around the time I changed my outfit but that's only a guess
huh I think I saw a picture of that somewhere too but I didn’t know what it was! I’ll check it out
I hope that these glitch/bugs get fixed soon because this makes the game look like it wasn’t tested at all (I don’t have the game yet but I do hope they fix these bugs/glitches.)
Another failsafe placed in game happens when you’re stuck on an island surrounded by water. If you walk your character into water about 5 times, it will fade to black and spawn you at the nearest Pokémon Center. Found this out while trying to get a hidden item to the left of the entrance of the Uva Academy.
I noticed Pokémon can spawn in buildings, if you in the overworld. I noticed Pokémon in the lighthouse at the beginning of the game and you can battle them, if you are against the wall and trow your Pokéball at them
I was hitting invisible walls in the first cave, so it's not limited to just the grass. I assumed the invisible walls were placed by Koraidon when I had to follow behind it, but it went away after I walked in a circle.
another weird thing is that in the middle of battles the health bar won't go down as you get attacked, it'll just cut to your health bar as if you had already taken damage instead of playing the animation. this is even worse in tera battles as sometimes it will just show you an incorrect health bar.
For me in Tera raids it shows the wrong hp for the enemy
I noticed that too, I think it’s cause of the other people attacking the boss as well it like pre-shows the damage from them
@@CWillyHD its pretty jarring and tbh kinda confusing but easy to understand whats happening once you play enough Tera Raids, turns out the boss just can't read or do math very well so it sits there wondering what 60 damage equals to as you beat the ever living shit out of its health bar.
Pokemon School is rough.

I also experienced some of these. I do notice that NPCs walking about look really weird and the sunflora gathering for the grass gym; All the sunflora look really laggy when they're following your player character. It's so trippy. Plus, I also had my head stick out of a shop door, because I had managed to clip inside of it. It was pretty funny, ngl. Wish I took a screenshot.

I’m stuck in the inlet grotto. I keep spawning in the air and can walk around on air. I can’t land on the ground and I keep falling into the water. My auto save has me there in the air as well. Hope I don’t have to restart.
I've found several out of bound clips with the bike Mon and there's some funky thing that can happen on sloped surfaces involving instances where you can jump multiple more times before entering the slide down animation
One I encountered was at the first gym puzzle where once I started the screen faded to black and I was left on an infinite loading screen. Thankfully I saved beforehand but it still scared the crap out of me.

More like GlitchFreak, amirite? Lmaooo! The glitches haven't effected my gameplay, so I don't really care. Game is still fun for me. XD

Devs just flat out not even finishing games these days. Jesus.
The devs arent the ones at fault though. The company is pressuring them into deadlines they know isnt enough to completely finish the game.
@@Nico-ub2sq yep. The Pokemon Company is in fault here. It is a miracle that gamefreak managed to release two games this year alone with those brutal deadlines.
TPC is to blame, as are the people who keep buying these games brand new. Once they see the insane crunching impact their sales maybe just maybe the franchise can stop being mediocre

Got stuck in the cave at the very start of the game because the Legengary Pokémon wouldn't break the rock blocking the path, also the menu is disabled for some reason in this part so I couldn't even save the game to restart! I'd just caught a shiny and I lost it because I had to restart the game and was forced into this. Pokémon has gone real downhill holy crap... I lost my shiny pink pig cause of that bug...
I just want to ask does pokemon scarlet and violet have somekind of anti cheat system or its just glitches and bugs?
you can climb any slideable hill if you jump backwards with Miraidon
I glitched out of bounds near the steel titan in one of the caves there is an item behind a gumshoo and tried to pass it got in battle after the battle I was on the other side of the wall
You have to hold close to the wall and be on the ride pokemon
I had my screen turn black for about two seconds and then kick back on. Thought maybe it was my TV but saw another user mention it on Reddit.
I hope the BLJ doesn't get patched out
I thought the cave light thing was on purpose and Miraidon just turned on it's lights or something XD I even said: oh cool it turned it's light on!

I found a glitch while battle a tera raid combee and while catching it, it didn’t have a face.
Are there any duplicate glitches yet?

I found a bit of jank that don't have too many obvious uses.
First off if you start a battle with a pokemon a bit away, like a magikarp out in the water, you'll teleport to a nearby area to stand on. This allowed me to head over to a bit you can't normally reach without your ride, albeit nothing major. Just got an early gimmighoul and coin before heading to los platos.
I've tried to reach the initial cave area with this, but haven't been able to yet.
Next I've found that just using ZL while close to an obstruction, the camera just passes through.
Finally another fail-safe. If you get stuck in some non-specific way, it happened when I fell in water without any clear footing, you get sent back right in front of your mom. This only happened once and I soon reloaded to get back to where I was, so this may or may not have any uses.
The only one I believe to have potential usefulness is the first one I mentioned for potential skips and out of bounds access. Other than that I don't know what else could be useful, I'm no glitch-hunter.
I hope this could mean something for larger glitches, but I honestly doubt it...
Unless that fail-safe I mentioned earlier is some sort of glitch state? I should've checked when I had the chance, :( but oh well.

I glitched outside the world in a cave if I had my auto save on I’d be stuck there.
When switch server shutdown in like 10 yeara how can we update the game without server to update or fix bugs?
apparently later copies of games that Nintendo prints come with the patches on them

Honestly I haven’t found much glitches at all in my version but I haven’t completed the game so maybe eventually
I have gotten a glitch in the game where I apparently can see my bp and money ALL THE FREAKING TIME!!! And I turn off the game it’s gone but it comes up again very quickly

My hope is fading fast for that. Really thought they would put something out before the DLC, but *surprise* they just wanted more money out of the game. Some of the areas in the Teal Mask are more laggy than the base game...
So when will they be fixed?

I dont think its even been intentionally realeased yet (not including japan anyways) and the only reason people already have it is because stores sold it early but idk i might be wrong (also third)

Yeah, it came out at midnight on 11/18. So, as of now in my time (about 4am US Central), it's been about 28 hours since release.
Hell, I got my lame preorder codes from Pokemon Center at 4pm the day before release haha. So they were definitely "prepared" for full launch.

Actually, the T-pose thing happens with every game... all objects default to something in-between every loading screen.
Knowing pokemon, they'll have most of these glitches fixed by the end of the month. They do care for their games and with all these videos talking about it, they'll wanna fix them before it effects their sales

HOT TAKE: Visual glitches that don't effect gameplay are gut wrenchingly hilarious and enjoyable and people who hate on them just don't want to have fun. They'll get patched out anyways so enjoy the jank while it lasts.
I think it's not necessarily the visual glitches themselves that people have a problem with. It's mostly that game freak released the game when it's clearly still unfinished and buggy, even though they definitely have more than enough money and time to fix it
Exactly. I find the glitches funny and also surprising. Like, they catch me off guard sometimes, but they don't effect my enjoyment of the game or the gameplay itself, so it's all good. They just make things look funny from time to time, like npcs walking in a laggy sort of way.

Dude that is not the issue, the issue is that the game is worth 60 dollars and is just. Not finished. The deadlines the Devs have to work with are insane and need to change but as long as people keep buying these games brand new the crunching will not stop
So true. I'd only be worried about glitches that either ruin your save file or stop you from completing the game.
