@@michaelvicente5365 I don't care too much about graphics if the gameplay is done masterfully. Good example for that is Baba is you. Graphics are simplistic but the gameplay is so addictive. Same thing with Underrail. It reminds me of some old Crpg-s like Arcanum and Fallout 1& 2, that I adore when I was younger..

Underail looks like a kid just opened paint and made some lines. What i always loved in fallout 1-2 (besides the crazy good storytelling, freedom of choice and the amazing world they built) was the 2.5d graphics. The 2,5d graphics gave a timeless look, which i think its mostly the reason that all infinity engine games are still easilly playable after all these years. Only game that gave me the same environmental satisfaction was beautiful desolation (its sad that the story was mediocre and the battle style was plain bad...had good world and character building though).

I absolutely love XCOM! I've put more than 700 hours into them! And it's so surprising I've never heard of Mutant Year Zero! If not for this list I have not heard of it before. Thank you! I will definitely purchase it!

I flat LOVED The Fall: Last Days of Gaia. I honestly forgot I wasn't playing a Fallout game. Great list, saving for future reference. Regarding Wasteland 1 the visual remake released recently is actually very playable.
ATOM RPG is as close to Fallout as we can get. The locales, the subtle dark humor, the save scumming :D. And with the recent release of standalone expansion Trudograd, it made leaps in U.I. and graphics.

Hey cold beer, did yu had problems when yu try playing for the first time..like a completely dark screen when the menu should pop up but while the screen is blank yu can hear the menu music jus as fine, showing that the game is running and its jus the visuals having a bug( this problem sounds super specific b/c this is a problem I have specifically)

I love isometric turn-based RPG's and strategy games. Always have. They really start bringing this medium back. It provide's so many possibilities w/ today's technology in a format that will never go out of style. Enough fantasy, though. We can do so much more.
Nevada and Resurrection 1.5 are very solid if u are a fan of the old Fallout series. also Atom and Underail are worth mention but they are not for everyone.
I love MYZ and it's DLC. I wish they had more actually and I know even my middle kiddo (3yrs old) would love to watch me play more of this games story. Atom RPG always has me looking at it, but I never pull the trigger. Also Shadowrun series was really great IMO. Good list with some fun new ones I've never heard of.
I've played through the fall before and it's a really good game. Hard as fk because the combat has a learning curve but once you get used to it you'll be ambushing and laying traps like crazy. It has great atmosphere, story, and voice acting to boot. Highly recommend.

Krater is a gem of a game. Sure , is not turn based, but it`s most def a hack and slash game. U have plenty of time to set up your characters atack. Also the game is NOT imbalanced, you just need to think before u atack.Also party composition is VERY important . If u wanna talk about imbalanced enemies, play Underrail.
This is not a movie, but some series about vampires and witches (at least several seasons). I can't recall the name now (just found on youtube, saved this scene and used it after about half a year), not very popular.

Also - Marauder Man of Prey is neat game, like all Apeiron games. Krater was nice game but then final boss was massive difficulty spike, forced you to massive grind (can't sell your old augs and else, had to replace them for cash) and all you got was cliffhanger. Ugh. 10:55 ever heard of Crossed comics? Get ready for a ride!

Played it when it came out. It was buggy as all hell, the world was just an empty desert and the game was like half in german, but it was still badass for its time. Soundtrack by Darkseed is prob the best part of it though.
@@ColdBeer Honestly, to this day I have not found a game that outdoes it in tactical depth. The point system isn't as rigid as in the movement and action games and movement allows the mercs to jump over hedges, through windows, climb on roofs, move while keeping their heads down or even crawling. The interrupt system more fluid and heavily relied on agility, experience and line of sight. It was pretty bugged on release but fully patched and especially with mods it's still pretty good. Also, I just love the banter between some of the mercs, they all feel like they have their own personalities. And there's a bunch of cool easter eggs too.

Ah, that sucks. But you can play some games even if your vision is bad? That is genuinely interesting for me how people with bad sight react_to/play games in general. Can you play them or is there an app helping you play? Etc. I'm a nearsighted man (really bad), without glasses I can't distinguish a dick from my girlfriend, so I can probably slightly relate, but not more than on a surface level.
@@ColdBeer no app, its a matter of distance not clarity for me. Some games have visual accessibility, but usually just colorblind modes and options for ppl with hand disabilities. Visually impaired gamers VIG are still a minority but more devs are trying. I can play a lot of games, but not modern shooters. Titan fall 2 was a great exception thankfully. I try comenting on videos such as gaming news when I feel it necessary to say a game isn’t visually friendly. The future looks hopeful. Thanks for your interest.:) most VIGs find ways to manage where possible. I play gta and red dead but not pvp.

There were no nuclear bombs, the apocalypse in Underrail is due to the sun mysteriously vanishing/weakening, making the surface inhospitable. There is even a brief section where you can leave the underrail and loot some tower on the surface with high risk of freezing to death.

Stellar Tactics is what I hoped Mass Effect could have been, when I first read about it in PC Gamer magazine. Instead, it turned out to be slightly disappointing to me. Played it for a few hours, uninstalled, never looked back. All of the annoying hype around it, the very poorly-made endings for game 3, as well as the failure of Andromeda turned me off completely.
I wanted to like stellar tactics, but it really sucks. Random level generation can be cool, but unfortunately it makes for poor and repetitive level design
also how do a lot of these games not have cover systems? I realize fallout 1 and 2 didn't have that as a limitation of the times, but there is no excuse for more current titles
@@ColdBeer Well I'm referring to the genre of tactical turn based games. Within that genre I feel it should be critical that there is a need to move your characters in to advantageous positions. To have a battle where you just stand in the same spot from start to finish makes for a pretty boring encounter.

There was never a "there is a radiation, therefore mutants are eating people", it's bullshit and creators knew that. Fallout was a show of how badly civilisation ended and how nobody living in this post apocalyptic world don't give a damn about it and trying to live their own lives. So far the only game that I noticed went this way was Horizon: Zero Dawn, but it's not nearly there with complexity of interractions and outcomes. What you did here, it seems, is that you compared Fallout with every game that looks a bit similar, but is it really fair comparison? Fallout's look is the matter of it's time, it has nothing to do with it concept, story complexity or premeditation. Now don't get me wrong, you added games that tried to get close to it, I don't want to just critisize, I didn't expect you would notice my comment. But most of those games are just looking as a rip off.

That is why nothing in F3 and F4 correspond with F1 and F2. They just took the name and fun's favourite features and created completly new game and new story, incompatible with the original. Arcanum is still one of my favorite games of all time. I'm so happy to see it still getting talked about almost twenty years later 😊

The first ATOM was awesome! And I would suggest Krai Mira... it's not very polished, but it's totally what Fallout Van Buren could have been.

Ah, Mass Effect is in my Top 10 of best games ever made. Especially 3rd part, it was absolutely awesome. Didn't like Andromeda though.
