Miss my growing years of the 60s and 70s in the Philippines. Left in 1983 and visited in 2006. Everything has changed. Wala ng lahat kakilala ko, and I realized then, I don't belong anymore. Everything in this video was how I remembered everything from my youth.
me too………😢 I love Manila,I miss Manila
I was born in the 70s and my childhood was filled with memories of the late 70's and 80's. Metro Manila was simplier then and less chaotic. Traffic was not so bad, except maybe on the way to Makati during rush hours, but pretty much everywhere else, traffic was light to moderate all the time. We lived in Quezon City, just outside the city of Manila. I still remember the time when I, my siblings, and my cousins could play on the street outside our house. Only a few cars passed by our house back then. Now, this street is a major thoroughfare and vehicles pass by nonstop almost 24/7.
TV and radio were the only electronic past time then, and TV only had a few channels. No cable yet, and TV stations signed off by midnight. This is why people, especially the kids, still went out to play. We rode bikes, played basketball at half basketball courts on the streets, hunted for insects such as dragonflies, butterflies, lady bugs, etc.
I miss those days.
I can still remember the early. 80's
I was in my elementary grade in Las pinas, life bacj then was simple and satisfying, rice fields, and few establishments only,
I wish the clock has stopped back then
Nkakamiss ang Old Manila.
@@jaypeesee3333 Kawatan kayo manong no. 🤣
So much nicer and cleaner then than it is today
Cleaner? Lol. They just didn’t show the slums of Tondo in this video.
Meron ng “ Nayong Pilipino” ( this park opened in 1970) so most likely early to mid 70’s
Great, thank you
A nice little video
Time flies so fast. New friend here
Talagang Maganda, malinis at maaliwalas ang Manila noong ARAW... According to Lolo at lola....but bec.. Of this informal settlers frm the provinces... NAGING MADUMI, MABAHO AT MACIKIP ANG MANILA.... BINABOY NG MGA TAONG HINDI TALAGA MANILENYO... 😎
That’s because Manila-based political leaders failed to develop the provinces
❤opo maganda at malinis Ang Maynila. Nakakapaligo pa kami sa Dewey Boulevard.
If the government developed also other Provinces, maybe Manila was preserved it's beauty. But because most of the development only happened in Manila, many wants to live there. Then, the population starts to grew.
agree!
Somebody coined it "cosmetic progress". Make Manila look good, and foreigners might believe the rest of the country is beautiful as well. Cosmetic progress.
Yup! 💯 Percent failure of our Government System.
Wala pang squatters at dugyot na nakatira diyan. Ang ganda ng Manila dati.
This looks 100x better than it is today
fr, today looks awful with lots of people
With lots of illegal vendors and dwellers all over Manila and its suburbs.
Gauging by the cars on the road 1964 toyopet taxis, 1959 to 1968 chevy impala both broken down on the side of the road, mini skirts with goldie hawn type hair, this looks circa 1969 to 1971. Can't be later than 1971. Great clip
Thanks
🙏😍 for sharing ☮️💟🇵🇭🇺🇸
Our pleasure!
For me Manila and Jakarta in the 70s is very much similar environment 😊😊
There's the newly built ccp complex back then. This was the real Marcos era. Probably late 1960s to early 70s. The car models tells the story. The sarao jeepney expanded its length in the late 60s to accommodate more people from its original 4 seater at rear.
Good to know, thanks
CCP was built during the ‘70s.
Wow
This was my time.I was in my youth. I thought that was already a traffic. Now is the worst.😂
It was clean and not crowded back in the 70s and 80s. Now its a jungle.
Definitely the mid 70's.
Ang title po ay "1970's Mainly Manila, 50 years ago, which is correct. We are in the 2020's, so..50 years ago from 1970's.Substraction lang po. At basahin din po sana yung explanation or definition nung video.
It's early 70s.
This is in the early 70s
Based off the jeepney design yes it is the 70s
@@renz1013And the cars on the road as well...
Kay Ganda ng Dewey Blvd noon panahon.
Salamat sa feedback
@@mrcinotravels hi..thanks for sharing these clips...but kindly rectify the title...folks here are saying its not 50's...which looks true...thank you.
@@jaypeesee3333 Ang sabi po sa title, 50 years ago, which is 1970's.
3:22 the real Philippines
Folks these are 70's 8mm movies for sure not 1950's 👌👍😉😎✌.
Yes it is hard to bring back the past, glad you enjoyed the memory
Mini-skirt in the 50s? 4:14 I don't think so. AC/PUJ jeeps like shown were in the 70s.
As of today, im 25 years old, and watching this makes me wonder why does it sucks to live here right now.
Why did this country develop (infrastructure) in the shitty way?
Marcos era… BEAUTIFUL… now there is a Marcos in office… LET THE PHILIPPINES be Beautiful ONCE AGAIN..❤️❤️❤️
It is not in the 1950 era. Probably in '70s and 80's Swimming boys are beside of American embassy at formerly Dewey Blvd and now Roxas Blvd.
The title did not say 1950's era, it said 1970's Mainly Manila, 50 years ago. I think this is where the confusion is, everybody was reading the 1950's and assuming the title is... 1950's era.
This can't be the 50s..more likely 60s to 70s.Jeepneys are called auto calesas,AC, 3 seater per side,not the one you're showing,5-seater.
The title is...1970's Mainly Manila - 50 years ago. The title did not say 1950's era...
Clean, nice, but today is polluted, trashy, overcrowded, too bad.
Looks like this movie was taken in the 60s. There were no bell bottom pants then and the vehicles were different in the 50s
The film label showed 1950s but it may well have been mislabelled, possibly late 1950s or early 1960s. There may be other clues as to the date.
Natayo ang CCP noong early 70s.... under Mrs. Marcos.... yung style ng mga damit parang transition ng 70s to 80s.... malabong 50s or 60s yan....extended na rin yung mga jeepneys compare mo sa 6 seater(3 on each side) na jeep nuong 50s and 60s.
@@mrcinotravels caught a glimpse of a ford cortina model 1973. This film is 1970s
Galing pala ni cong tv tumugtug nong prang gitara hehe
Couldn't be in the 1950's as the title says... I would say mid 60's to early 70's
It said on the title - 1970's Mainly Manila - 50 years ago...
More of the late 60s
Ang sabi po ...1970 Mainly Manila...50 years ago..which is correct!
Before people decided to move to the city with no plans, no home, no jobs, and decided to have a gaggle of kids they cannot afford to raise.
From 2020, it is 50 years ago sa 1970's.
@@isamarnavale8738 inedit na yan dati kasi 1950s nakalagay dyan, ako nagcorrect kaya inedit sa 1970s jejejeje
wrong years.....Looks Early and Late 70's
The title did say 1970's Mainly Manila..
1950s.... pero may CCP..... Clearly it's the 70s or early 80s.
Thanks for the feedback
This is not the 50's!
Please read the title, 1970's Mainly Manila..
Anu ba yan?
The real Manila is gone. Died in 1945 during its liberation from Japanese forces. History and heritage lost.
Its modern now yes but it has lost its soul. Centuries of Spanish colonization, modern development under American occupation, gone.
