Love your videos Gerard. I noticed you don't use electronic shutter, would love to see a video on that topic from you, as to why you don't use it. Keep it up!
Basically it’s like this, the electronic shutter doesn’t read out as fast as the mechanical, so you get a similar effect to rolling shutter, worse at lower shutter speed like under 1/250. Where mechanical isn’t reading the sensor, it’s getting blocked but the physical shutter, meaning no fast read out is required
Still such a great camera! I'm definitely looking to go more the full-frame route next. Love the content on your channel- keep up the great work! New sub👍🏼out here supporting growing channels like mine!

What is that base plate you have for the 6600? It’s exactly what I’m looking for and can’t seem to find it anywhere.

ZV E10 has a mechanical shutter. The new ZV E1 only has electronic shutter.

ZV E10 can burst 11 frames per second on mechanical shutter and I love the sound of it.
Would you pick this one up over an A7C or A7III as second camera?
Yeah probably they are basically the same but a6600 isn’t full frame but APSC has cheaper lenses
Where is the comparison to the ZV-E10? You spent most the video comparing the 4 year old 6600 to much newer full frame cameras costing 2-3 times more which is absurd. Waste of time.

I have had the sony a6600 for 3 years. I love this camera. There is no firm news yet that Sony will finally come out with the updated version of the camera. The "rumors" which so far have been horribly inaccurate since they've been predicting a new version for over 2 years :) are indicating that this coming month (May, 2023) a new APSC camera (Sony a7000/6700????) will be out.

Loved the video, I recently upgraded/ downgraded from the a6600 to the a7iii, yes the a7iii is older but its full frame and its such a quality difference from the a6600. The a6600 was a phenomenal camera for me, but now that I've switched to full frame I'll never go back to apsc

Interesting, I did the exact opposite, and will not add the Sony A6700 to the kit and the A6600 will be the backup. I like the size and weight reduction for the APS-C ----- not a professional, so don't need the full frame.

My biggest gripe with a6600 is lack of compatability with catalyst browse for further stabilization. I dont have a gimbal nor the budget for it and its a nightmare, imo.

I picked a used one up with the 18-135m lens for $750. I sold my a6400 for $700.

The size of cameras is a huge complaint for many women as they are sorta designed for male hands. The a6600 is a great camera for people with smaller hands. I love it tbh.
Tbh the A7iv is too small for my hands and is great for my partner she complains about the a6600 grip
Great video but the max shutter is 1/4000, not 8000
Yeah so the thing is, when I got it it was 1/8000 then I did some setting changes and then went to 1/4000 then when I turned the e front curtain on it goes back to 1/8000 so must have changed during a firmware update
I'm using the RX1000 VII for now.

unfair comparison! I'm using a6600 for 2 years and I only shoot in manual mode for photos and videos and I wonder how you said that its impossible, plus comparing 1000$ APSC camera to a 2500$ full frame camera is totally unrealistic.
Just Annoying changing your iso, or shooting in auto iso.

I haven’t tested the a9 electronic shutter no, just the mechanical shutter. I don’t see any need to use an electronic shutter

Quality post, music “strained”/muffled. Talking head bottom up lighting not flattering (almost spooky). Comparisons to full frame line somewhat unfair. Comparison to other brands of APS-C would be reasonable, IMO. Agree, more custom buttons and front dial would be welcome, but Sony is distinguishing this line from the A7 series and some features have to be dropped. I would not expect the next APS-C to be a mini-A74.
Ergonomics a matter of personal preference and comfort. Cheers!
