Bad idea, it helped saved the teams lots of funds in wrecked cars, but it also ensured we didn’t see a repeat of Gateway 2004! Wish they’d bring it back and people stop wanting drivers hurt!
@@slyfoxracing9955 they throw the caution when there is a big wreck anyway it does not matter what lap it is there is still a risk of getting hurt on lap 1 just like the last lap

@@AnthonyStatenMusic But it wasn't necesary for the moment that it happened, because 1. They were close enough to the finish line to not throw the caution that quickly, and 2. If you see the replay that sees Logano hitting the wall, then do you expect ANYONE but Blake Koch getting involved or at least hit him?
I'm still salty about this. Not only was the yellow thrown way too early before the 11 hit the 22, but the 1 should have given up his position by NASCAR rules as he was still trying to save his car on the apron which technically means he's wrecking.

The thing is, is that they were close enough to the line to make it back without too many cars scattered across the track, they shouldn't have thrown the caution.

While in hindsight from the 6-months-ago version of myself, I can accept that Poole did not and should not have won by overtaking for the lead after the yellow was thrown, Sadler's car was sliding at the moment of caution, and cars overtook him while he was still in the process of saving it.
I acknowledge that it was NASCAR's call to make, but I still feel like it was a bad call to declare Sadler the winner.
That was such a dumb choice by them

I love how every time there was a caution with 2 to go, NASCAR waited until they crossed the overtime line, THEN said “Yep they crossed the line, race is over”.

2017 Alabama 500 (14/40 cars)
2000 D-250 (12/36 trucks)
nothing beats the Truck race at Daytona from 2019. only had like 8 trucks left haha

I've watched NASCAR on and off for a while now, and I still don't understand what Overtime is or why it was added. Just race to the end and get rid of the overtime
If there is a wreck with that will leave you with 2 to go, they add more laps for caution, so they begin with 2 to go, once they make it to the white flag, they can’t throw the caution, if they do it instantly ends the race, they have infinite overtimes
@@SPCWakefield1103 I understand this, but doesn't it make the entire race up to that point entirely pointless? I mean, If you're down and outside the top ten or fifteen, you may aswell wait until the penultimate lap and then 'accidentally' tap the guy infront of you repeatedly. And if there's unlimited overtimes, couldn't it in theory make the race last well over its scheduled laps and end up doing 30 or 40 laps more? Yes, I know that is very unreasonable, but it possible.

The reason they are in place is so we can have orderly finishes to races. Wrecks in overtime are mostly caused by an increased need to get to the lead.

Nascar stupid or something truex was what less than 100 feet from the start finish line and they throw the caution? Really I mean yeah I understand there were very hard hits and it was on the 2nd to last lap but shit they do shit like this all the time and it is so damn dumb , they could be racing at Talladega and have one car or two spin and make even a little hard of a hit into the wall at turn 4 and they won't let it go green when they won't even be coming back through there full speed then wonder why fans get mad it's because half the races end under caution or have very unnecessary cautions also since my dumbass is ranting that thing Hamlin did in 2017 at Martinsville was almost as bad as Kyle Busch right rearing horniday in 2010 no reason for it and Hamlin is a good driver but you could tell he was turning left on the straight because if he can't win no one will I guess sorry for ranting

man, hamlin is little baby. everytime he gets passed late he takes people out. took blaney out hard at 7:15 then the next clip he takes out truex. really starting to dislike how he races

@@nachoalvarez7171 I was talking about after he made contact with blaney, he turned left into him and accelerated them both down into the inside barrier. Didnt even try to save a wreck from happening. He was throwing a fit for losing 2nd, 3rd and 4th place
