He was saying that Trump wasn't concerned with the establishment or what people thought of him. Then he was pointing out that everything around us is liberal/ progressive leaning, and that they control what we hear. This guy is libertarian, and socially conservative. He says that rights are taken from us when we try to go against the establishment. Finally, he says that people are becoming ungrateful for what they have. Finally, he talks a lot of how the history was to liberate from dictatorships, but we are going backwards with progressive democracies. You are right though, when you listen to it again, you get even more message out of it. I would love to talk to this guy one on one.

He has been a commentator on modern and ancient warfare and contemporary politics for National Review, The Washington Times and other media outlets.
He is a professor emeritus of classics at California State University, Fresno, and is currently the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow in classics and military history at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
He chairs the Hoover working group on Military History and Contemporary Conflict as well as being the general editor of the Hoover online journal, Strategika.
He has been a visiting professor at Hillsdale College where he teaches an intensive course on world, ancient or military history in the autumn semester, as the Wayne and Marcia Buske Distinguished Fellow in History since 2004.
Hanson is the author of Carnage and Culture: Landmark Battles in the Rise of Western Power (2001), a New York Times best-selling book.
Hanson was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2007 by President George W. Bush, and was a presidential appointee in 2007-2008 on the American Battle Monuments Commission that oversees the cemeteries and monuments of U.S. war dead abroad.
Hanson is a student of current affairs, particularly regarding the U.S. in the Middle East, national defense issues and illegal immigration.
He is also a fifth-generation landowner, growing raisin plants on a family farm in Selma, California, where he resides, and is a commentator on social trends related to farming and agrarianism.

Mark has always had an impressive list of guests on his show, and he never fails to find such interesting, quality guests. But, I would ask , why is he a singularity? Why aren't there other intelligent, socially relevant programs that could rival in his genre? I really can't think of any other such shows on the air today. Could it be our culture has been so dumbed down, as to exclude the possibility of any more than one such program existing simultaneously? Mark is brilliant and unique, yet I can't help but think there must be other personalities capable of producing an equivalently high quality, entertaining, and cerebral program, and that would surely gain ready acceptance. I think it a sad commentary on society, and on the TV industry, for there not being more such shows. Well, anyway, thank God for Mark's show, at least.

VDH is one of the greats.
Read "Who killed the Greeks." It's one of his more quiet ones. Yet, it is a complete antidote to liberal relativism and nihilism that is encompassed by Progressives.

As a classicist, he takes a long view and has studied so many empires in decline. I've little doubt that his background strengthens his perspective such that we should listen carefully to what he thinks.

This is such a good analysis. Why can't CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the media have this tenor of intellect. Let's talk about real issues. Yeah, Trump is able to rattle and play with the mainstream media, but in a way, that's because the mainstream media has been goofing around too. Trump belongs to the mainstream media. 22 years ago I was trying to get into the states from the ravages of Africa. I was rejected by the law. I was slightly relieved because I noticed that the people had so much freedom and yet they were all on drugs and bit too out of control. I ended up in the UK.

However, it is people that buy their goods or services that make them rich. Now, obviously nobody can say that there is anywhere in the world where socialism works either. There really is two separate issues here, but my point is that socialism doesn't work in the long run. I think that the balance that lies in between, comes from honest people with leadership and skills to make evenly measured decisions. We dont have a lot of that nowadays, but the government doesn't know how to run a business. Look at the postal service, or when they ran the telegraph system. In both cases they fail, where free market thrives. Let's not forget that the government has a lot of highly paid people who decide what people get as well.

Nah, Shapiro is still a Never-Trumper. He still cant admit he was wrong about Hillary being better than Trump as president, which he ACTUALLY argued on Steven Crowders show back in 2016.

Poly-Rhythmic Octopoid I watched Ben pretty closely. I don’t think he said Hilary was or is better than Trump. He said he didn’t vote for either. He insisted he could vote “neither” but he couldn’t admit that a vote is a binary decision, not voting for Trump helped Hilary.
I should still invite Hansen. Ben needs to listen to some with more wisdom.
