Wonderful Video David, as they all are. I'm glad to have found your channel, and you've been a big influence on me and my goals. I just Bought a beautiful West Wight Potter 19, and I'm looking forward to splashing her in the Columbia River next week! And I hope to come north next summer and visit some of the wonderful locations you've shown us. Have a great winter, Subscribed and looking forward to your next video! Cheers! ✌~Neil
Hi Neil, thanks for watching my videos and subscribing to my channel. I always love hearing that my videos help influence small sailboat owners. This is a fabulous area for small sailboats. If you make it north send me a quick note, maybe we’ll be in the same area. Enjoy your WWP 19 this week and during your future endeavor’s. David
David, It was so nice to go along for the ride! Thanks for putting all the energy into making the videos. The mellow vibe and nature are a welcome relief to this insane world that is presented to us. I was struck by how user friendly the docks and marine parks were. We used to take our boat up into the lakes for two weeks a year and I know how wonderful it is to wake up in the morning on the water in the forest. You have it in spades and I hope to get up your way sometime soon. Best wishes for the next year.
Hi Richard, thanks again for following me. Making the videos is such a fun way to continue enjoying my trips. If you ever make it north for a trip let me know. It’s a great place for a small sailboat to cruise. Take care, David
Great trip and a wonderful video, David. The perfect antidote to the early season snow storm we're dealing with here. I've always wanted to watch the stars from Annette Inlet ever since reading Philip Teece's book. Glad you got to do it.
Hi Larry, ❄️ already, looks like it’ll be a long winter. Lots of wet and cold here already. I missed you on the last trip. It looks like you’ll need to watch reruns of my videos until we can make new ones next year.
Good morning Chris, thanks for following this season’s journey. Making and sharing videos has turned into a highlight for me during the cruising season. I look forward to capturing and sharing the 2023 season, until than enjoy your winter. David
Loved it. Thanks for sharing. Keeps me motivated. Just came back into the house at 10pm from working on ol 336. Hope to see you up there this coming summer !
Good morning Daniel, thank you for watching my videos. I’m glad they give you a little inspiration. Enjoy your WWP 19, you have beautiful lakes in NW Montana to sail her on.
Hi, David! What a wonderful video! I hope that the medical call turned out OK! That's always a scary thing to consider when out on one's boat/out on the water, for sure! The places you visited looked gorgeous! How fun that you had your friends to sail with as well for much of this trip! I'm hoping to do to some 'buddy sailing' this coming season! I am super impressed with how you've outfitted Tramontana -- your attention to detail in her care truly shines! I am curious about how she's rigged -- Sunny has no winches and I see that Tramontana does have winches for her jib sheets. Did she come outfitted that way, or did you install the winches? I'm also curious about your video set-up for filming and recording. What kind of camera do you have mounted on Tramontana's stern? Also, how did you capture those stellar (pardon the pun!) pics of the constellations? My iPhone cameras do not have that capability, nor does my 'knock-off' GoPro. Congratulations on an incredible 2022 season and I'm looking forward to following along in 2023 -- and, hopefully, perhaps Tramontana and Sunny (or No Mas!) will meet up for a Lake Superior adventure! All the best and fair winds, ~ Chelle
Good morning Chelle, thank you for the compliment. The video is a little misleading, the local medical unit went out for an emergency from the marina, we were all fine. You’re right about being concerned with medical issues while cruising. Last year I had a medical problem and was very luck to have been in a marina with a hospital close by. I love my sailboat and take pride in keeping her Bristol. The winches come on Montgomery 17’s. When the wind is strong I’m really glad I have them when I’m tacking. My camera setup is pretty simple. My hand held shots are done with my iPhone Pro 13, even the nighttime pictures. I have a GoPro Black 8 for my mounted shots. If you look at the dripping foggy shot in my last video you’ll see my camera mount to the left of my flagstaff. Because I don’t use my navigation lights very often I switched to Navilights. The Navilight mount on the other side of my stern pulpit works with the GoPro. I hope to see you guys with Sunny or No Mas this summer on Lake Superior. It’ll be nice going to a different cruising location. Thank again for following my channel. David
Hi David, I really enjoy your travel adventures and your channel. Your boat is beautiful and it's great that you have so much fun and enjoyment from her. I'm curious as to what the pvc? tubes attached to the life lines are used for? God Bless, Ed Shires, Durham NC. Hutchens Compac 19
Good morning Ed, I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying my videos, thanks. I really like making the videos and sharing them for others to watch. The pvc tubes hold my butane for my cook stove and propane for a heater. They are vented in the bottom so if any of the bottles leak the fuel will sink overboard instead of into my sailboat.

Hi Sean, thanks. You’re doing a fantastic job on your M17. I hope you make it north next summer so I can see 336 in person.
Beautiful video !
Hi Peter Peter, thank you…
Hi David love your video's definitely an inspiration to this landlubber, I just picked up a WWP 19. In anticipation of spring in NW Montana. Thanks
