Anyways, that period of time was such a gem, and you have made an excellent series of videos here to the point where the comprehensiveness and quality of the series is a gem itself. 1.3 - 1.6 before CSS was released were the best times in CS history. Beta to retail 1.0/1.1 was still very buggy and the tactics were not very refined, plus the connections at that time were laughable and the game was almost useless online, although there were some great quake-style players back in 2000/2001. With the introduction of HLTV in 1.3 and a shitload of bugfixes and new features, the game was getting closer to the perfection that was 1.5/1.6, although the game was slowed down dramatically starting with 1.4 (bhop brake, longer wpn draw-to-fire/zoom delays, especially for awp, maxrounds standard instead of timelimit). For me it was always 1.5 > 1.3 > 1.1 > 1.6 > 1.4

I think that's the case because a lot of the players on this part of the list are great players but were mostly IGLs and Role (non star) players for most of their teams, but still the best of those types.

God I miss the days staying up super late waiting for my brother to finish playing or for him to go off to his GFS house so I could get my turn at counter - strike. We ended up taking our mom's computer and hiding it in our bathroom to set up as a server so we can customize the game as we liked with mods and DL all the awesome custom maps to play.
