Failing miserably at removing bubbles from mercury barometer

Tried to remove bubbles from a barometer I bought at auction. Nearly did it but now I know why mercury is called quick silver, it moves 14 times faster than water!!!!!!!

Take the barometer outside, hold it at arms length and spin around as fast as you can. This centrifugal force will get rid of the pockets in the tube. Of course your neighbors will think that you have lost your mind but trust me this method really works.
